3: Pick A Color
"Pick a color."
Jungkook blinks, letting the words sink in.
Processing.
Trying to understand in his head what is actually going on right now.
Is this how Jimin really does things?
It has to be a joke.
Jungkook stares at the eight-color eyeshadow make-up palette; some colors evidently used heavily while some just barely, like the nude color. The more Jungkook stares at it, the more he's trying to understand what did he just get himself into.
Yoongi did not fucking mention this.
"Are you trying to put make-up on me or something?" Jungkook slowly asks, flickering his eyes back to Jimin.
The man is removing his hoodie, throwing it on his bed to leave him in just a tank top. He smells of fresh shampoo, no doubting using those crusty bathrooms in the locker room to wash up. If Jungkook knew he would be coming here after talking to Jimin, he probably would've washed up too instead of smelling like sweat and grass despite wearing other clothes.
Well, not like this is that important either way.
Jimin turns around and sits on the floor, opposite to Jungkook, the palette now in between them.
"No, this determines the type of person you're going to date."
Yup, Jimin has lost it.
"I'm not following."
Jimin grimaces and gestures to the palette, "Depending on the color you choose, that's how I'll act or behave around you. Think of it as you molding your perfect, ideal partner."
Seriously? This is how he does things?
Jungkook blinks again, about to ask something incredibly obvious, "Why can't you just be yourself?"
A slow grin twitches Jimin's lips to this, almost as though this is a question he gets frequently asked, "Let me tell you your other options that you can choose from first."
He points to the color on the corner right first, the used blue but not so excessively, "You choose this, I will be your nerdy, cute boyfriend. The kind you'll see wearing bright colors, bake cookies, that soft shit - likes cuddles, smother you with love and what not."
Jimin.... Soft?
Jungkook stares at him, trying to picture it and immediately cringes to the thought.
He's probably too use to his smugness and observant attitude already.
Jimin then points to the one next to it, the green one, used a bit more than the blue one, "This is the jockie, sportie attitude type," He snickers, laying his arm on his knee that's plopped up, "Ladies dig this one a lot. Your typical chest pounding, manly, howling in the hallways, jock popular eye candy who only cares about his sports and his cliché."
Jungkook cringes.
Guess he's going to be doing a lot of cringing throughout this entire process.
Jimin then gestures to the next one, yellow - not so used often but definitely touched, his smile softens, "This one is the opposite of green. This one takes a more feminine approach, perhaps girly. Lipstick, dresses, skirts, heels, those things. I like to cross dress from time to time, so I enjoy when people choose this one often."
Hm, Jimin in a skirt....
Well with his legs, won't look so bad.
And his silhouette in a dress....
An involuntary shudder slides Jeongguk's body.
Jimin noticed immediately and tried not to grin, pointing to the next one which is orange - not used as often either, much less than yellow, "This one here is if you want a quiet and reserved type of guy. Someone that spends his days in the library, mostly alone, spends time reading. Like every basic girl in those heart throb books, but perhaps more on the studious side."
"Are you targeting Tessa Young."
"Maybe," Jimin shrugs innocently and the points to red one - very much used often to the point you can see the silver end of the pallet.
This time he smirks, flickering his eyes to Jungkook with his gaze shifting around the piercings on his face.
"Well, this one is if you want a little seductive bitch. More for lustful things. Typically would wear things just to capture your attention and you know, a little more open to exploration-"
"Got it, move along."
"Not interested?"
Jungkook glares at him, making the man just giggle with an innocent shrug before pointing to the one next to it, black. Almost the same route as Red but not quite.
"This one is if you want someone a little rebellious," Jimin says casually, "Maybe not get in trouble by cops but the parties, drugs, easy going with life - that shit. Almost like the whole stereotypical thing you got going on."
"Don't judge my looks."
"Not judging, just an observation."
"Then observe me as I leave if you say some shit like that again."
"Fine, sorry," Then Jimin points to the one next to the, white, almost done as well, "Ah, got to love the history of white meaning purity when it comes to marriage. That's exactly how it's like here. Want someone who's an angel, innocent, naïve, that's the one."
"I can't imagine you as that."
"Now looks who's judging by looks," Jimin mocks, catching Jungkook a bit by surprise, "No worries baby, I won't snap your neck."
Now Jungkook definitely couldn't suppress his scowl, "What's the last one?"
The last one, nude color, is barely touched, perhaps used twice or three.
"This one is if you want a gentlemen. Someone romantic. Write poems, take you out on date, that corny shit you see in movies."
"Why is it barely picked?"
Jimin shrugs, "Don't ask me, some people don't like a gentlemen these days."
"Hm," Jungkook hums, observing the colors carelessly before putting his focus on Jimin, "So which one is the one where you are yourself?"
Jimin's smile drops, perking an eyebrow, confused, "Did you not just listen to the other options?"
"I did, but I want to know where's the color of you."
"There isn't any, these are the only options"
Smart fucker, he knows to not open his heart completely to just anyone.
That's why there isn't one of him being himself.
Because he knows then he would catch feelings.
This game is quite clever after all.
Jungkook glances back to the colors, studying each one that he can choose from. He takes all the information in that Jimin let out to him of the meaning of each color before finally sitting up from laying on his side, properly facing Jimin.
He has decided.
"I've heard you can make rules, yes?"
"Of course, but first you must choose a color-"
"All of them," Jungkook answers, catching Jimin completely off guard.
No one has ever chosen all of them..... Ever.
Jimin stares at Jungkook for a second, slowly perking a chuckle to the bold response, "You can't choose all of them."
"You never said to pick one, all you said was to pick a color," And Jungkook leans, elbows on his knees now, "And I choose all of them."
Jimin looks as though he's been caught on a headlight, shocked but most definitely amused and.... Still confused..
This is a first time someone has done something as ridiculous this, to choose all the colors, and he's pretty entertained.
Jungkook is right, he never said to pick on specifically.
Real sharp.
"I see you're observant, I'll give you that," Jimin snickers, laying on his side now while leaning on his elbow, "Alright, any rules?"
"If we are calculating well, we have sixteen weeks together in the semester."
"Yes that's true."
"And there's eight colors, so every two weeks you have to switch to whatever color of your choosing."
"Don't you mean four?"
Jungkook purses his lips, "No, two. The last two weeks, I want you to be yourself."
Jimin is laughing now, looking at Jungkook as though he lost his damn mind.
He's really pressing for that, isn't he?
"You sure had this whole thing planned out huh?"
"I didn't, just came naturally. Not going to be with something who's only 1/8th of himself the entire time," Jungkook responds back bitterly, crossing his fingers, "So do we have a deal?"
There's this twinkle in Jimin's eyes that was hard to conceal. He's looking at Jungkook with this ridiculous expression as though he's still processing what's going on.
This just got interesting.
Far more than what Jimin had in mind.
After a while he grins, "Well you said your end of the deal, but I didn't say my end."
Oh this should be good.
Jungkook rolls his eyes and leans back against the wall, bringing a knee up to his chest with an arm over it, "What is it?"
Once again Jimin stares at him, letting the idea process in his head, allowing his grin to widen into a smirk, "Are you a virgin?"
"No."
"Are you asexual? Aromatic? Just has a big no for sexual or intimate relationships? I'll respect it if you are."
"No, I like physical and intimate relationships."
"Like sex and all? Even the simplest things such as foreplay and touching?"
"Sure."
"Are you sexually active-"
"Get to the damn point!"
Jimin's smirk is widen now, tapping a finger on the floor, "The Sunday of the second week, the day before I have to change color, we have sex," Jimin compromises, trying to see a reaction from Jungkook, "And I want you to give me kisses, I like being smothered by physical affection."
Jungkook really tried not to roll his eyes again, "Aren't we going to be in a relationships? Isn't kisses part of that?"
"I've had people who didn't like it," Jimin casually remarks, "So.... Deal?"
This time Jungkook really had to think about it. This was definitely not part of the plan he had in mind. Sure, win Jimin's heart over, but not to.... Be sexual.
Sex is sex, Jungkook doesn't really have some sentimental moral value about it, but it's more so because of Yoongi and his attachment to Jimin. Pretty sure he didn't have in mind that his precious eye candy would want to have sex with his best friend.
Jimin probably has had sex before that didn't mean anything, a casual thing, this definitely being one of those cases.
Sometimes the best way to really get to someone completely, from the soul and on an emotional level, is through sexual moments. No matter how one always says it's not serious, or it's just a game, but there's that one single moment during sex that both individuals do feel something.
That connection.
Either it lasts a second, a minute, or throughout the entire time through sex; but it's there.
That spark.
That vulnerability.
And Jungkook will just have to grasp that moment where Jimin feels that way to play it around his fingers.
Fuck boy move, of course, but Jimin's no better.
If anything, they're very equal.
Yoongi, you're going to pay for this.
Jungkook grimaces, trying not to glance to the outline of Jimin's body from his position on the floor, "Deal, just don't get weird about it after it happens."
Speak his technique to gain some recognition, and that Jimin found impressive that Jungkook was not the clingy type.
"Finally, someone on the same page as me," Jimin sighs in relief, now sitting up, "So, I want to tell you what I usually tell everyone. We will only date until the end of the semester. I don't care how deep you catch feelings, but the second exam week ends, we're done."
Ah, that's what Jungkook wanted to hear.
The deadline.
Perfect.
Jungkook nods slowly and gets to his feet, "You should be reflecting that on yourself if you'd catch any deep feelings for me."
"I won't."
"Then we're on the same page because if you do catch deep feelings, I'll just say it now that you're going to end up with your heart not just broken, but completely obliterated, that's a promise," And Jungkook grabs his duffle bag, sparing one last glance to Jimin room, "The second I leave this room, you're mine. I don't care how many admires you have, stay loyal to me."
"Oh, that's one of my specialties," Jimin winks, also getting to his feet, "But if you are cheating on me behind my back, I'll end this as soon as it started."
"Good," Jungkook then strides to the door, pausing so suddenly in thought and turns around, digging through his pocket and takes out his phone, "Number of course."
Jimin reflects the plastic smile on Jungkook's lips before yanking the phone and quickly typing on it. It took seconds before he gives it back to him, "Text me."
"I'll think about it," Jungkook mutters, "Alright, see you tomorrow-"
"Aren't you forgetting something?"
Jungkook perks a slow eyebrow, not catching it no matter how much Jimin stare makeshifts in a harsh glare at him. But then the other man approaches him, eyes looking from Jungkook's lips and back to his eyes.
Now Jungkook really really really tried not to scowl.
Right, boyfriend now.
Can't leave his loving boyfriend behind without some cute gesture.
Yay.
With a great weight of dread, Jungkook leans and just pecks Jimin's cheek.
Oh this got Jimin annoyed, but before he could say anything Jungkook quickly turns around and dashes out of his room, skidding past the living room where Jimin's roommate lays on the couch watching tv and puts his shoes on, leaving out the door before Jimin could say anything more to him.
With his heart thumping hard in his chest.
He wished at that moment that the reason he didn't kiss Jimin back there was because of the fact he's Yoongi's little crush.
Because he's a smug shit.
Because he hurts others by this thing he's doing and doesn't give a fuck about it.
But no.....
Jungkook knew he didn't kiss him there not because of any that.
He knows that if he did end up doing it, they wouldn't end up just kissing.
