Chapter 41

(Luke's pov)

"So I was thinking purple and Silver for the wedding colors?" Blair smiles snuggling into Ashton's chest.

"No way!" Michael scoffed still staring at the tv screen. "That's so formal."

"But it's not your wedding," Ashton argued.

"You're right, if it was my wedding the colors would be black and red and everyone would have to dye their hair or they can't show up. And instead of flower pedals thrown by the flower girl, it'd be guitar picks," Michael paused the game rambling.

"That's not even romantic," I interjected.

"And what do you know about romance? Your girl left this tour because of you," He argued.

Ouch.

"Mikey, can you not pick a fight with Luke right now?" Jay rolled her eyes taking the controller from him.

"Not much but, I know that's not it," I shrugged sitting on the floor alone.

"You're just jealous cause it's way more punk rock than you can do!" Michael snapped.

"Okay, can we talk about my wedding again before you two start killing each other?" Blair cut in.

"You think Luke could even attempt to kill me?" Michael laughed.

"So how about purple and white?" Blair continued looking at Ashton.

"Whatever makes you happiest," Ashton shrugs.

"Ash you do realize that you have a say in things too right? This wedding isn't just about me, it's your wedding too. You need to stop trying to make everyone happy before yourself for once," Blair sighed.

"But I'm fine with purple and white, I promise if I wasn't I'd say something," Ashton smiled.

Wow do I miss Janie. I looked over at Calum and he was texting. I hope it was Janie.

"Pssst... Cal," I whispered. He looked over at me and sighed knowing that I figured out who he's texting.

"Fine," Calum got up and sat next to me on the floor. I smiled, hugging his torso and resting my head on his shoulder as I watched him text the girl I was madly in love with. Don't think this was weird, I cuddled into Calum all the time.

"What's she saying?" I whispered, he was typing too fast after she replied that I couldn't see what she was texting him.

"She just wants to know what's going on," Calum said.

"I miss her," I sighed staring at the phone, "That's what's going on."

"I know Luke, I know," Calum put his phone down and hugged me. "You have to at least try to move on though."

"You actually think I could move on?" I chuckled. "That's never going to happen Calum," I bit my lip and stared at the floor.

"No I don't, I just think you can try, you probably won't succeed but please try. I mean if Janie forgets you I don't want you to spend the rest of your life feeling sorry for yourself," Calum explained.

"I guess I could try," I shrugged. I had no faith in myself whatsoever though. "Probably won't find a girl that'd date me though." Calum just scoffed and pulled out of the hug.

"Have you been to any of our concerts? You know how many girls would date you in an instant Luke?"

"Yeah, but that's cause I'm Luke Hemmings, Janie liked me before she found out about 5 Seconds Of Summer, where would I find a girl who doesn't know who I am?" I asked.

"Under a rock?" Calum suggested. Then his phone beeped.

5:03pm from Janie:
It's really late here. I should head to sleep. Night Cal. Hope Luke gets better, I love him to death.

I love her to death too.

(Janie's pov)

I've been non-stop texting Calum since I first arrived in America a week ago. I know I shouldn't be talking to someone that is with Luke at all times, but I couldn't help it. I needed someone. Someone who got my situation.

Sure I was back with Kristen, but she didn't understand love of a person. She loved cats more than anything, reason why I could tell she is Michael's cousin.

It was 8:02am when I woke up. I never woke up this early on a usual day, but today I needed to go to my job. I mean, I hate working, but I got a job at the rock cd store about two miles away. So at least I'd be surrounded by things I love, music.

It wasn't hard to get that job, basically I had to know six thousand seventy nine album names and eight hundred fifty nine bands. I studied. Kidding.

Make no mistake, I didn't know all the bands and albums, no human possible can know every CD possible in that place. But I knew a majority of the Pop punk and alternative. And basically this store was really weird. You had your Metal expert, your Punk Rock expert, your oldies rock experts, Emo expert, and then you had me who was titled both Alternative expert and Pop Punk expert. So if you have any questions or ask of any recommendations of albums or bands of the Pop punk or alternative genre, talk to me.

It sounds fun, but it's actually really annoying. Cause you always get those people who are asking for this teeny Pop boyband from Pop Punk just cause it has the word Pop in it.

I got dressed in my uniform and made myself breakfast, basically just Nutella toast, nothing too spontaneous.

My phone beeped as I took my last bite of my toast. I was hoping for Calum's name to appear on my screen. But not this time, the name I read wasn't his.

8:15am from Joshy:
Hey I'm here.

I didn't exactly have a car, and this wasn't exactly New York City, it was actually more New Jersey that I lived. East Rutherford to be exact. You know how people say MetLife is in New York when it's in New Jersey? Well, I live about five miles from MetLife. So technically I live in Jersey, but New York is easier to say.

I quickly got up and put my plate in the sink, grabbed my bag and phone, and ran outside to the car.

Sure I only knew Josh for a week and a few days, but I've grown to like him. He worked with me, he was the Punk Rock expert, so we've grown to work closely together.

"Good morning little girl want a ride?" He smirked at me when I walked up to the door. He started referring to me as little girl, cause I'm a year younger and a bit shorter. By a bit I mean a lot. He wasn't as tall as Luke, but I was at least six inches shorter than Josh.

"Just unlock the door you idiot," I rolled my eyes playfully. As he clicked the unlock door button and I got in. "You're so stupid you know that?"

"Yeah, cause if I was smarter I wouldn't be giving a twelve year old a ride to her job," He laughed.

"I'm eighteen," I raised an eyebrow.

"You're short enough to be twelve though," Josh shrugged pulling out of my driveway.

"Yes cause almost every twelve year old I met in my life are five foot six."

"Point is you aren't six foot, and I am, so you're short as hell," Josh concluded with his eyes on the road ahead of us.

"I dated a guy who was six foot four once, I'm not that short." Now I'm thinking of Luke, I miss him. I really wish I could just text him, let him know how much I love him, that being away from him only makes it harder to move on. Cause all I think about while I'm away from him, is how much I want to be with him. My eyes started to tear up a bit but I looked out the window as we pulled into the parking lot of Jimmy's CDs. As the car stopped Josh looked at me sadly.

"Janie, are you okay? Is it something I said?" He asked in panic.

"No, no I'm fine," I wiped the tears from my eyes and held back the urge to keep crying. "Lets just go in."

"Not until you tell me what's wrong," Josh demanded. Josh may be full of banter but when he knows something's wrong he is the most determine person to know why.

"Just a little homesick," I shrugged looking up at him.

"Homesick?" Josh looked at me confused, "But you are home."

"No," I shook my head, "I'm thousands of miles away from home."
Have you ever heard the expression home is where the heart is? Well my heart is on that tour bus, and the more that bus moves, the more and more I become farther from home.

"I don't understand," Josh said honestly.

"I wouldn't expect you or anyone here to understand what I'm talking about," I explained getting out of the car.

"Is it about missing Ashton's wedding?" Josh pondered getting out and following me into the store.

Yes I told him about Ashton, all about Ashton, all about Calum, and Michael, and Blair, and Jay, but nothing about Luke. I couldn't. I didn't want anyone trying to talk my through it, I wanted to forget him, not let anyone know about how madly in love with him I was. Was? Wait no, AM. I am in love with Luke, and I needed that to stop, he deserves better.

"Yes," I half lied.

Ashton was actually a big part of guilt that tugged my shoulders down. He has always been there for me, but I haven't been there for him, I won't even be there for the most important day of his life. All because of Luke. That guilts me a lot more than I thought it would. He was there when I needed him, but I left him when he needed me there.

"You should just go to his wedding Janie, if it hurts you that much," Josh said. He's said this a million times this week. But I didn't have the money. I told him that. Even if I had the money, I'd have to stay away from Luke there.

"I'm trying," I rolled my eyes going into the room that says employees only and clocking in.

"Chelsea!" My boss yelled hugging me. "How you feeling love?"

"It's Janie," I pulled away from his hug, "And I'm completely better, I promise." I faked a smile.

My boss was the happiest most joyful British man on the planet. Honestly. I showed up late twice this week and he just asked me if I was okay. He's an amazing guy, just a bit overbearing at times. And he kept forgetting my name.

"Wonderful," he smiled as Josh walked in after me. "Okay, Janie, please place these CDs on the racks, starting in the Metal section, alphabetical order by band name okay?" He handed me two heavy boxes of CDs that were just shipped in. "And Joshy you work the counter for today."

Obviously Josh was his golden child. He always gave Josh the simple jobs because Josh worked here since he first started at age 14 for minimum wage.

I headed out of the office and walked over to the metal section to place CDs. I didn't know most of these bands. But you didn't need to know them to stack them.

"Hey Janes," Xavier smiled at me, he had a girl costumer standing by him. They were talking about some Sabbath that was supposedly black or something I don't know.

"Hey," I smiled back at him. He had to be one of the nicest people I work with. I knew absolutely nothing about Metal whatsoever so it was pretty great that he volunteered to help me out a bit to learn metal. Although I didn't really like it all that much, I couldn't understand the songs where there was screaming so I wasn't much of a fan of that.

"So do you have any Black Sabbath?" The girl looked at me.

"What's that?" I raised an eyebrow.

"A band! Shouldn't you know this stuff?" The girl scoffed.

"I'm sorry does it say Metal Expert on my name tag somewhere?" I rolled my eyes.

"Janie," Xavier gave me a look, the look when he was telling me to be nice.

"I'll look," I faked a smile and searched through the box, eventually finding an album with the words Black Sabbath on it. "There you go sunshine bear!" I acted cheery handing her the CD.

"Thank you," she smiled and walked to the counter.

"Why'd you do that?" I punched Xavier's arm softly. "You couldn't have gotten her the album?"

"She asked you," Xavier shrugged.

"But you probably told her to ask me," I pouted like a three year old.

"I didn't," he chuckled.

"Whatever," I said as I continued to stack the CDs on their proper shelves.

As usual I listened to the music that played over the radio. The music actually made me feel like my job was done quicker.

That was until I heard that familiar rhythm start up, the rhythm I knew in my sleep. Anyone knew it, and I regretted getting out of bed this morning. The first song that was released by them in this country. She Looks So Perfect.

The continuous Hey's went on, I would I listen to that forever if I could. Rather than hear Luke actually sing.

"Hey Janie! It's your buddies!" Josh yelled across the store. I rolled my eyes and cringed as Luke's voice started.

10:57am to Calum:
I'm not okay rn.

There were three girls looking around who stopped and started squealing then singing along. A sigh escaped my mouth as I continued my job and ignore the music.

"Luke is definitely my favorite," one girl blurted out as the chorus ended.

"Shut up, my baby is singing!!" Another girl cried out as Calum's part came on.

Tears beamed in my eyes remembering how famous they are, they could have any girl they want, why would Luke ever actually choose me??

11:00pm from Calum:
Call you to talk after we get back from the studio ok?

"Gives you feels too huh?" The Luke girl asked me.

"You have no idea," I wiped my eyes.

(A/n)

Hey baes!

So first off, please don't hate me for spelling errors. Everyone makes them.

Second, I love you guys! Thank you so much for reading this story. It's sadly coming to an end. I'm probably NOT making a sequel after this though.

Anywho, it seemed like a long chapter while I was writing it. So sorry if it's too long for your liking.

NOTE: *The different point of views that place in different countries and different days*
For example Ashton's pov may take place 3 weeks after she's gone, but later it's talking about a month later for Janie's pov. Please don't be confused.

QOTD:
