(3rd Person POV)

The silver and red eyes of a certain Phoenix Faunus fluttered open to reveal, the corner of the rose's sleeping face. Then she too slowly began to wake up, with a slight groan from the sunlight, triggering her partner behind her to chuckle in amusement. Hearing his voice she rolled over to face him with a sweet smile plastered over her face.

Dairoku: Good morning my sweet Roselyn.

Ruby: Hmmm... Good morning Dairoku.

Dairoku: *kisses her nose* Boop.

Ruby giggled before playfully hitting his chest.

Dairoku: So... *looks away nervous* Was... it satisfying...? Last night...

Ruby: *blushes* O-Of course! It was amazing, exactly how I imagined! W-Wait... What!? What am I saying?!

Dairoku: Calm down Roselyn. Besides, I don't think we want to... alert the others... especially Yang and Qrow...

Ruby: Well... we were pretty loud last night, were we not...?

Dairoku... *heavy sweat drop* Ah... shit...

Ruby: *blushes while giggling* Don't worry. If they did, I won't let them get anywhere near you.

Dairoku: *chuckles* Aren't I supposed to be protecting you?

Ruby: *smirks* As you said, things change.

Giving each other a satisfied smiles, the both moved to sitting positions on the bed, the blanket covering their crotch areas. Dairoku noticed his boxers on the ground and reached for it. Before taking it up, Ruby put her hand on his shoulder...

Ruby: *nervous* Um... H-Hey...

Dairoku: *raises eyebrow* What's wrong?

Ruby: Um... Are we... you know... back together now...?

Dairoku smiled before pulling the now deflowered rose into an embrace.

Dairoku: Yeah... We are Roselyn.

Ruby smiled sweetly and snuggled into her partner's bare chest.

Ruby: *relieved sigh* Thank goodness... *blushes* But... we did... 'this'...

Dairoku: *blushes* Yeah... we did... You're absolute certain you took the pill last night, right?

Ruby: Y-Yeah! ...I think... *rubs head nervously*

Dairoku: ...Ruby... We don't want to have kids in the middle of a war...

Ruby: U-Um... Ehehehe...  A-Anyways, we can't be a normal couple anymore since we got this far, right?

Dairoku: Hmm... I guess not...

Ruby: Then, what are we...?

Dairoku: Hmm... Good question...

Ruby began looking down, slightly sadden until Dairoku put his hand under her chin and lifted her head up to meet his...

Dairoku: *smiling* But... whatever we are... I don't ever want to leave your side.

Ruby: *smiling* Me too. I love you.

Dairoku: And I love you too.

With another smile exchanged between the two, they leaned in and locked their lips together, into a passionate and blissful embrace... Dairoku and Ruby... The Phoenix and The Rose... are back together... at last...

"YEAH... IT DID... JUST LOOK AT WHAT IT DID TO YOU"
CHAPTER 9: AMBUSH

(3rd Person POV)

As the sun slowly rose up from over the horizon, Dairoku and Ruby were sitting outside, admiring the beautiful golden hue the sky was coated in. Ruby sat directly in front of Dairoku, in between his legs and was leaning back into him while Dairoku had his arms around her waist...

Yang: You two are up early.

They turned their heads to see Yang walking towards them

Ruby: Hey sis.

Dairoku: Goldilocks.

Yang: *touches Ruby's nose with her hair* Boop.

Ruby giggled as Dairoku shook his head in amusement. She took a seat next to them as they continued looking out into the horizon.

Ruby: What are you doing up?

Yang: Can't fall back asleep.

Dairoku: Really? Us too.

Kuraime: Well fortunately...

They turned around to see Weiss, Kuraime and Celeste approaching them, the former with a tray of three coffee cups in her hand. Kuraime had two in her hand while Celeste only had one.

Weiss: Coffee exists.

They walked over to the three, Weiss handing one to Yang and Kuraime handing another to Dairoku. Weiss was about to hand one to Ruby, until...

Ruby: No please...!

Weiss: Don't worry, I put in blasphemous amounts of cream in sugar, just for you.

Ruby: Aw yeah! Nice Weiss strikes again!

She was about to take it when Weiss suddenly pulled it back.

Weiss: I will pour this on you and it will burn.

Dairoku: Ice Queen strikes again!

Weiss pouted at Dairoku as the rest began giggling at her. She rolled her eyes before handing Ruby her coffee, who smiled innocently at her. She then sat next to Ruby, Dairoku and Celeste while Kuraime sat next to Yang.

Yang: So, you two cool or...

Ruby and Dairoku smiled at each other.

Dairoku: We had a talk and everything turned out in our favor.

Weiss: That's a relief.

Kuraime: *smugly* You sure that's all that happened?~

Ruby's face immediately went red

Ruby: Shut up! Shut up!

Kuraime: *giggles* I'm kidding! I'm really happy that you two are back together.

Dairoku: Yeah...

Yang: Can't believe we're actually in Mistral.

Ruby: That's what you can't believe?

Yang: Well, yeah! And all the other Magic and stuff, but okay, you know what I mean!

Weiss: I honestly wasn't sure if I'd ever see you all again.

Celeste held Weiss' hand as the two smiled sweetly towards one another.

Yang: Well, here's to defying expectations.

Dairoku and Kuraime: To Defying expectations.

While Ruby gulped down her coffee, Weiss, Kuraime, Dairoku, Yang and Celeste all bumped their mugs together before taking a sip.

Ruby: I just wish Blake and Tyros could be here with us...

Dairoku: *sigh* Yeah...

Yang: Yeah well, they made their choice.

The others looked at each other, raising eyebrows before back to Yang.

Weiss: What's that supposed to mean?

Yang: I mean, they could've been here if they just stuck around. It's no big deal though, we'll be fine.

Kuraime: You... don't want them here?

Yang: Why would I want them here?

Ruby: Are you... still mad at them for leaving?

Yang: Oh, whatever gave you that idea Ruby? No, I'm totally fine, I'm great.

Dairoku: Alright that's enough, Yang. You need to calm the hell down.

Yang: *eyes turn red and snaps towards Dairoku* Don't tell me to calm down! How can you of all people be fine Tyros leaving!? He left you when you needed him most!

Dairoku: I'm not mad because I know he has a good reason for it. He did it to go after Blake, just like I left to go after Ruby, Celeste and Neo, just like YOU left to go after Ruby.

Yang: But you were in a coma! You were close to death! And he just, left you!

Dairoku: I know damn well that if he was in my position at that time and I heard that Ruby, Celeste, Neo, Kuraime or even Blake ran off, he would want me to go after them! Besides, he's just looking out for his little sister, just like what WE BOTH did!

Dairoku's left eye began flickering between red and blue as he and Yang stared each other down.

Ruby: Woah... Yang... Dairoku...

Yang: *scoffs* Whatever.

She got up with her coffee and walked back into the house as Dairoku sighed...

Weiss: I'll go talk to her.

Weiss too got up, to go after Yang, leaving Ruby, Dairoku, Celeste and Kuraime.

Nighttime in Menagerie was quite and so far, uneventful. Tyros could be seen, on his balcony, staring off into the shattered moon...

Sun: *from the other room* Tyros! Blake's ready to go! You ready?

Tyros: I'll be there in a minute!

Just as he was about to join up with his sister and monkey advisory, he felt a paper strapped to a part on the wooden railing. Picking it up, he looked around to see if anyone was there before unfolding it... It was a letter from Ilia and she wanted to meet with him... alone... Before he left, Sun and Blake appeared.

Sun: Yo man, you coming or what?

Blake noticed her brother's expression... a serious pondering one...

Blake: Is... everything okay Tyros...?

Tyros: ...Change of plans...

. . .

Tyros got to the area where Ilia told him to meet her, a dark alleyway... Totally not suspicious at all...

Tyros: Ilia?

Ilia: I'm here.

Still suspicious, Tyros equipped one half of his Grimm Hunter which was in its twin blades form but he saw her... Ilia, her skin and hair completely black but quickly turned back to their normal color... She had her hands up in a surrendering way. Still gripping his blade tight, he slowly approached the Chameleon Faunus.

Tyros: I know you're scared, but you don't have to be. Me and my family can keep you safe, but you need to stop all of this.

Ilia: I'm sorry...

Tyros: You don't have to be. But you can make it up to me by helping stop Corsac and Fennec.

Ilia: No... I'm sorry...

Ilia them made her hand into a fist but Tyros immediately knew this gesture but unfortunately, he was too slow as a Bat Faunus with Bat-wing, dropped down on him and slammed him into the ground knocking his blade out of his hand.

Tyros' thoughts: Another winged Faunus...!?

Tyros: Ilia what are you-Ahh!

Suddenly, he was encased into a spider web.

Spidergirl (spidergwen): I've got him.

Batman: Well done, sister Trifa and to you, Ilia.

Tyros: Ilia! What the hell!?

Ilia: I tried to warn you and Blake, Tyros... I'm sorry...

Tyros: Don't you dare tell me that you're sorry!

Ilia: But I am! I am sorry it had to be this way! But you and your family are holding the Faunus back!

Tyros: Holding the Faunus back!? Because we're trying to protect people!? In what world do you live in where attacking innocent people is the right thing to do!?

Ilia: The same one as you! There's no such thing as innocent! There's no right thing to do, only what's best for us. There's the Humans that still hate the Faunus and there's the others who stand by and let the hate happen! But you know what snaps out hate? *points whip at Tyros' neck* Fear. I don't like hurting people, but I'll tell you this... it's gotten us results.

Tyros: Yeah... it did... Just look at what it did to you.

Ilia gained a sadden expression, and began looking down.

Ilia: We all have to make sacrifices for the greater good. No matter how much it hurts...

Tyros: And you honestly think, killing me is for the greater good?

Ilia: No... But getting rid of your family is.

Tyros: *eyes widen* What!? No... You wouldn't! I won't let you!

Ilia: I know... That's why you are being sent to Mistral and Blake will be joining you... to Adam.

She kneeled down to him and put her hand on his cheek as her chameleon traits caused the spots on her cheek to glow pink, as if she was blushing...

Ilia: I love you Tyros, I really do... And I never stopped loving you at all... I really want us to go back to the way things were before... But the sad reality is... we can't always get what we want...

Tyros: Ilia...

Ilia then stood up and faced, the Faunus apprehending Tyros.

Ilia: Yuma, with me. You two, get him to the docks. Once we take care of the Belladonnas, we'll bring Blake.

She and Yuma, the bat Faunus then ran off, leaving Tyros with the two Faunus.

Trifa: Let's go Traitor.

Tyros: Oh... We're going somewhere alright, but not where you think. NOW!

Trifa: What!?

Suddenly, Blake and Sun dropped down, the latter taking out the other Faunus while Blake freed Tyros. Once he was freed, he immediately punched Trifa in her face and knocked her out.

Tyros: Thanks for the backup.

Sun: Thanks for the invitation.

Blake: Are you alright?

Tryos: No. You both heard Ilia, mom and dad are in danger. Sun, call the police, Blake call mom. I'll call dad, come on.

Following his command, they all began calling respective numbers while making a b-line through the town towards their house.

In the Belladonna residence, there was gunfire heard while a scroll, showing Blake was vibrating on a table. Suddenly, the table was flipped onto its side to act like a barrier.

Guard: Get down!

The guard and Kali took cover behind the table as two White Fang members fired towards them. The guard poked up and began firing at the White Fang members, managing to take out one before getting shot and falling next to Kali. She decided to take up the gun and take matters into her own hands.

Kali: Get out of my house! Ghira!

With Ghira, he was near the front of the house, taking un multiple White Fang members, easily brawling them while a guard was taking out one with his spear. A White Fang member tried to kick Ghira but he caught his leg and slammed him into the wall before upper cutting another and slamming him into the ground.

Ghira: Go find my wife!

A White Fang member rushed him but he just karate chopped him in the back. Before the guard could go find Kali, he was shot in the back and fell into Ghira's arms. At first he was sadden, but then that sadness turned into anger as he saw the ones who shot him... Fennec and Corsac...

Corsac: I believe it's time our dear chieftain stepped down, brother.

Fennec: Yes brother, I'm afraid I'm inclined to agree.

Ghira's clenched fists suddenly opened, revealing claws. Then he grabbed his coat and threw it off himself before growling in anger. Then he let out a threatening roar...
