(3rd Person POV)

Glynda: Are there any volunteers for today's first sparring match?

It was time for Glynda's combat class and she was currently in the process of finding two opponents. She stood in the arena, holding her tablet close to her chest as she scanned the stands for and volunteers. Teams RWBY, RCST and JNPR sat next to one another, none of them seemingly wanting to volunteer. Before Glynda had a chance to call out a name, a boy stood up in silver armor with golden trimming stood up with that smug expression; Cardin Winchester.

Glynda: Cardin Winchester, who would you like your opponent to be?

Cardin without even looking said with a smug expression,

Cardin: Jaune Arc

Dairoku's Thoughts: Seriously??? After Jaune literally saved his life, he still wants to mess with him?

Glynda sighed and took a look at Jaune who seemed nervous; even though Pyrrha and Dairoku were training him, he still couldn't be able to win against Cardin.

Glynda: Well Mr. Arc? Do you accept?

Jaune was about to answer but someone stood up before he had a chance; a girl with purple eyes and very long black hair... Everyone. Including Cardin turned their attention to her.

Dairoku: Kuraime?

Kuraime: I'll be Cardin's opponent because Jaune isn't feeling all that well in the current moment.

Jaune and the rest of Teams JNPR, RWBY and RCST turned to Kuraime confused because they all knew that Jaune was doing just fine. Kuraime briefly looked at Jaune before nodding slightly and that gesture confirmed everything; Kuraime was trying to prevent Cardin from having a chance to beat up Jaune.

Glynda: Is that correct Mr. Arc?

Jaune: Huh? U-Um... Yeah...!

Glynda: Hmm... Well you face does seem a bit red right now... Very well then.

Cardin looked disappointed but agreed nonetheless. Kuraime as she began moving towards the arena, lowered herself to Jaune and whispered in his ear,

Kuraime: You owe me pancakes later.

As she continued her way, she saw her teammate smiling at her and giving her a thumbs up.

Dairoku: Kick his ass for us Kuraime.

Celeste and Tyros nodded in agreement to which she gained a small smile before giving them a thumbs up.

After a while, Cardin and Kuraime entered the Arena, with their weapons. Teams RWBY and JNPR seemed really intrigued, mainly because this will be the first time they see Kuraime in combat. Ruby specifically was beyond excited to see what Kuraime could do and her weapon, she couldn't stop bothering Dairoku about it.

Cardin: Hmph, just because you're a girl doesn't mean I'll go easy on you.

Kuraime: Good. Better to fight a weak opponent than a dumb one.

Cardin seemed annoyed at her comment and only took out his mace. Kuraime on the other hand, just kept her hand behind her back, on her weapon.

Glynda: Begin!

As soon as she said that, Cardin and Kuraime rushed towards each other. Once up close, Kuraime suddenly blitzed into a 'raven-like' form and ended up behind Cardin, pulling out her weapon in its LMG mode and began unloading the entire clip into Cardin's back, causing him to stumble forward. Cardin attempted to hit her with his mace but she blitzed away from him and began reloading. Everyone besides Team RCST and Glynda seemed shocked at what Kuraime just did, especially Ruby.

Ruby: Woah! What was that!?

Dairoku: That my friends, was Kuraime's semblance.

Blake: Her semblance?

Tyros: That's right. She has a speed semblance.

Dairoku: Evernight Raven. Kuraime can briefly take the form of a raven and dash around at high speeds, similar to your Petal Burst Little Rose.

Ruby could barely hold in her excitement that someone else had a speed semblance just like hers.

Worried, Cardin checked his scroll only to see that the entire clip drained Cardin's clip to about 55%; that just showed the power of her weapon.

Cardin: You'll pay for that one, loser!

Cardin began charging at Kuraime for her to just roll her eyes at his terrible insult. Before he had a chance to attack, Kuraime briefly used Evernight Raven to blitz out of his way and then just began running circles around him. Everyone watched in awe at the sure amount of speed Kuraime had.

Ruby: Woah! Kuraime's so fast!

Dairoku: Yeah. She's able to run up to mach 1 and that's without the use of her Semblance.

Jaune: Huh!?

Cardin swung his mace all over, hoping to hit Kuraime but she'd just dodge, frustrating him even further. Finally, when Kuraime dodged another attack, she swiftly felt the full force of a kick on her stomach which she barely blocked with her gauntlets but she was still sent flying back. She took a look at her scroll to see that the kick only took away 10% of her Aura. She stood up straight as her bangs hid her eyes.

Cardin: How does it taste loser?

Kuraime didn't respond but only smiled as a demonic-like aura faintly formed around her and she held out her weapon to her side.

Kuraime: Not bad Cardin, I'll humor you.

She started with as she pressed a button on her weapon causing it to start to change shape. The stock behind the magazine extended out as the barrel did the same; the latter having the two flat parts above and below it unfold and extend to reveal the blade. Ruby could barely contain her excitement as she saw Kuraime's weapon change.

Kuraime: You'll be the first person here at Beacon that Poison Ivy will have the privilege of fighting; you should be honored.

Ruby couldn't hold it in anymore as she screamed in pure excitement.

Ruby: A SCYTHE!!!!!!!

Kuraime briefly looked at Ruby who was still screaming in excitement and nodded before turning her attention back to Cardin who was still internally panicking.

Cardin's Thoughts: That thing's bigger than she is! W-What the hell!?

Before he had a chance to react, Kuraime suddenly appeared behind him, a trail of falling raven feathers behind her as her scythe blade wrapped around his torso. She slowly inched her head near to his and whispered in his ear.

Kuraime: I'll say this once. I'm not like Dairoku. I'm not as forgiving as him. So, if I catch you trying to mess with Jaune, especially since I heard he saved your sorry ass from an Ursa, I won't hesitate next time. Understood?

Cardin: Y-Yes ma'am!

Kuraime: Good. Now forfeit this match.

Cardin, completely shaken up, complied, dropping his weapon and throwing his hands into the air, signifying that he gave up.

Glynda: And that's it. Kuraime Silewe wins this match.

Kuraime released Cardin and he swiftly moved off the arena.

Dairoku: Heh, that's our Kuraime.

Glynda: Now, who would like to fight next?

Kuraime: Actually Professor Goodwitch... I would like to fight again but I would like to choose my opponent.

Glynda looked slightly confused at Kuraime before checking her Aura, which was still in the green. She sighed.

Glynda: Very well. Choose your opponent, Ms. Silewe.

Kuraime looked around the arena carefully selecting an opponent but she eventually spotted her. She point to her opponent, the bubbly girl in the red cloak.

Kuraime: I would like to battle Ruby Rose.

Glynda turned to look at Ruby, who looked slightly shocked, her friends dawning the same expressions.

Glynda: Do you accept Ms. Rose?

Ruby looked at Dairoku who smirked and nodded.

Ruby: Yes ma'am!

Ruby quickly dashed down to the stage with her Crescent Rose in it Scythe form; Crescent Rose and Poison Ivy were roughly around the same height but Crescent Rose's blade was slightly more curved than Poison Ivy's. Ruby was excited but nervous at the same time.

Ruby: I can't believe you're a fellow scythe user Kuraime! And you have a speed Semblance just like me!

Kuraime: I'm not going to lie, I was surprised when I saw your Semblance and Weapon. So, I'm intrigued to see which one of us is the better scythe wielder and the faster one. I won't go easy on you just because you're a 1st year.

Ruby: Ahaha! I'll do my best!

The two of them got into very similar battle stances, both of their scythe blades and barrels pointing behind them with one of their hands on their triggers and another on the handles; Kuraime had converted the fire type of her Scythe to bolt-action so that when she'd fire her weapon, both in gun and scythe form, it would fire like a sniper rifle, similar to Crescent Rose.

Glynda: Begin!

Both of them pressed their triggers, firing off a bullet and sending them flying towards each other with the recoil. The two clashed their scythes together, creating a very loud *clanging* noise before using their Semblances to dash away from each other, then clash again. They continued this for a while; Kuraime's movements were more fluid while Ruby's were rougher but she was keeping up fairly well. The two were moving so fast that even Glynda had trouble keeping up with the two; at this rate, they were only red and purple blurs, the former containing rose petals while the latter containing raven feathers.

Jaune: Woah...

Blake: Their moving so fast, I barely can keep up with them...

Weiss: I'm more surprised they can move so fluently and quickly with those impractical and really dangerous gardening tools.

Dairoku: It's true, with the way their weapons are designed, they can get a little bit impractical but their Semblances cancel that out; thanks to the speed increase.

Tyros: I'm more surprised Ruby's keeping up with Kuraime. Even Dairoku has trouble keeping up with her.

Yang: Heh! Well that's my little sister for you! She was moved ahead two years for a reason! GO SIS!

The two combatants pushed each other away from each other, both sticking their scythes into the ground to stop them. The both smiled at each other as they stood back up.

Kuraime: Not bad Ruby.

Ruby: Hehehe! You're amazing Kuraime! Let's continue!

Kuraime: With pleasure.

Kuraime was the one to make the first move, using both her Semblance and a shot from Poison Ivy to propel herself to the girl in the red cloak. She was being slightly aggressive as she swung Poison Ivy at Ruby, only for her to block with Crescent Rose and push her back. Then Ruby went on the offensive, throwing Crescent Rose at Kuraime causing it to spin like a buzz saw and Kuraime to back flip out of the way.

When Ruby caught her weapon, she aimed at Kuraime and began firing who deflected the bullets and started charging her again. Ruby took Crescent Rose out of the ground and rushed her opponent. The two clashed again but Kuraime redirected Crescent Rose upwards, causing Ruby to lose her grip of it but at the same time causing Poison Ivy to also go up in the air.

Ruby and Kuraime dashed away from each other at their scythes spiraled back to the ground. When they hit the ground, both wielders began to run back to their weapons. Ruby did something unexpected, she threw a punch at Kuraime which she effortlessly dodged by sliding underneath it. Ruby flew over the scythes as Kuraime slid under them, the former grabbing Poison Ivy and the latter grabbing Crescent Rose. Now, with them holding each other's weapons, they charged one last time; this strike was to determine the battle.

They both struck each other with each other's weapons, ending up behind each other in finisher poses. Everyone including Glynda looked shocked and confused as both combatants didn't looked fazed at all. All of a sudden, Ruby began kneeling, using Poison Ivy to support her.

Yang: SIS!

Glynda was about to call the match but was stopped when Kuraime too began kneeling, using Crescent Rose to support her.

Tyros: Is it a tie???

Dairoku: Wait, look at their Aura levels!

Everyone looked up to the screen, only to see both Ruby and Kuraime's Auras in the red. BUT Kuraime had just a slither more than Ruby.

Glynda: ...Well then... If this was a team battle, both combatants would be eliminated but since this was a singles battle, this would mean that Kuraime would be the victor! That was... very unexpected.

Kuraime, who was panting for exhaustion, stood up and walked over to Ruby, Crescent Rose in hand. As Ruby struggled to get up, she looked at Kuraime who offered her hand with a smile which she took.

Kuraime: That was a fun battle Ruby. I can definitely consider you my equal. We should hang out more.

Ruby's face lit up as she was just praised by Kuraime. She just dropped Poison Ivy and lunged herself into Kuraime and hugged her tightly, causing her to drop Crescent Rose.

Ruby: Yes! Yes! We should!!! We'll become such great friends!!! And next time, I'll be sure to win! Bet on that!

Kuraime just giggled and hugged her back.

Kuraime: I'm looking forward to it Ruby.

Teams RWBY, RCST and JNPR just smiled at the two as the buzzer sounded off, signifying the end of the class. The two Reapers... could definitely become best friends...

That was the first Extra Chapter I did. I do plan on doing more in the future. Anyways, the next chapter I do will be chapter 3 of Volume 2 so stay tuned!
