(3rd Person POV)

It was nighttime in the kingdom of Vale. The streets were quite empty and quiet, probably because it was pretty late at night. A boy, wearing a dark crimson hooded coat with a phoenix emblem on the right side and red metallic gauntlets on his forearms was walking down the street... This boy wasn't a human though... he had large off-white wings on his back; he was a Winged Faunus and on the inside of those wings where two strange objects... He had his hands in his coat pockets as he walked by himself; he looked as if he was looking for something... The he heard something... The sound of glass breaking and metal parrying one another... He looked up, revealing two red orbs for eyes as he turned the corner... What he saw was... interesting to say the least...

Boy: "Well that's something you don't see everyday..."

What he saw was a girl in a red cloak, wielding a massive red and black crescent bladed scythe fighting off a couple of men in suits... She seemed really skilled with that weapon... and she seemed to have reminded the boy of someone...

Boy: "So... that's your niece... huh Qrow?"

He looked back at the girl only to see a ginger guy in a Bowler hat and white suit walk up to her, holding his cane

Ginger Guy: "Well Red, I think we can all say that it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around... I'm afraid this is where we part ways."

He lifted up his cane, revealing a barrel underneath. He pulled the trigger, launching an explosive round at the girl... The boy saw this and reacted by swiftly moving to the girl and blocking the shot with his wings, engulfing the two in a puff of smoke. The smoke didn't last long as the boy sprouted his wings with force, clearing all the smoke. He looked behind him as his wings folded back into their original position to see the girl looking at him in awe and with stars in her eyes but there was a slight shade of pink on her face too...

Boy: "Hey there. Are you alright?"

Red: Wow... You're a winged Faunus...! O-Oh, yeah I am... Thanks. Are you by chance a Huntsman?"

Boy: "Heh... Not yet... *notices the ginger guy climbing a ladder* We can chat later, he's getting away"

The boy pointed to a nearby building with a ladder to see the ginger guy climbing it. The girl noticed him too and turned to the nearby shopkeeper

Red: "You okay if we go after him?"

Dr. Wily Look alike: "Uh huh!"

Boy: "In that case, hold on tight Red!"

The girl looked confused before the boy picked up the girl bridal style causing her to turn the shade of her cloak and he sprouted his wings and flew up into the air. When they landed on the building, the boy put the girl down as they both saw the ginger guy standing near the edge of the roof

Red: "HEY!"

Boy: "Not so fast ginger bread"

Ginger Guy: Persistent... And who might you be Wings?"

He turned his attention to the boy

Boy: "Why does it matter to you? All that matters is that I'm here to kick your sorry ass"

The boy was suddenly whacked in the head by the girl, causing him to hold it in pain

Boy: "Ow! The hell was that for!?"

Red: "Language!"

Ginger Guy: "AHEM!"

The two stopped their bickering and got into battle stances but a Bullhead suddenly appeared with its side hatch opening for the ginger guy to get in it. He turned around to address the two

Ginger Guy: "End of the line Red and Wings."

He chucked a red Fire Dust crystal at the two. As it rolled to their feet, he fired off an explosive from his cane at it causing it to detonate. The boy saw this about to happen and he pulled the girl towards him and wrapped his wings around her in a means to protect her. The Ginger Guy began laughing but as the smoke cleared, his laughter quickly disappeared. In that smoke was a blonde woman with a purple tattered cape and a 'wand thing'; she was protecting the duo with a barrier... The duo briefly looked at each other before the woman adjusted her glasses and began waving her 'wand thing' around, sending purple streaks of energy at the Bullhead.

Boy: "Glynda...? Huh... Guess she followed me... Good."

When Glynda's attack come in contact with the Bullhead, it began to shake in the sky, causing the ginger guy to stumble and run towards the cockpit; there a woman in red was controlling the Bullhead

Ginger Guy: "We got a Huntress!"

Without any words, the woman got up, leaving the ginger guy with the controls. As Glynda sent another attack, she created a mini storm above the Bullhead, bombarding it with crystals. When the woman in red arrived to the back, she casted fire to throw at Glynda who blocked it flawlessly. The red woman followed that up by superheating the ground below Glynda, causing it to erupt. Glynda flipped out of the way and began controlling the debris to form a spear like construct to ram into the Bullhead. The woman tried to stop it by shooting flames at it but it just reformed and charged the Bullhead again. The ginger guy saw this and forced the Bullhead to tilt causing the spear to bounce off and separate. The woman in red seemed to have enough as she sent a superheated wave out, melting the debris. The gauntlet on the boy's right hand had a cannon pop out. He began firing explosive shots at the woman as the girl next to him converted her scythe to a sniper rifle and began shooting too. The lady was able to block the scythe girl's shots but as for the boy, she was becoming overwhelmed. Then the boy suddenly created a fire dagger from out of thin air and he kicked it towards the woman who caught it but then it suddenly erupted in flames in her hands. She got annoyed and began super heating the ground under the trio to which the boy and Glynda noticed. The boy grabbed Glynda and the girl and flew up into the air before the ground exploded. When they landed, the Bullhead was already flying away. The guy's cannon retracted back into the gauntlet as Glynda briefly looked at him then at the small girl.

Red: "You're a Huntress...! Can I have your autograph!?"

(time skip brought to you by the red girl fangirling over the huntress while the boy chuckled)

The red girl was in a small dark room with a light, sitting in front of a table with a shameful expression on her face and the boy was leaning against the wall with a bored expression while Glynda paced around the table

Glynda: "I hope you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young man and lady. You put yourselves and others in great danger."

Boy: "*sigh* Relax wicked witch of the west, you know I can handle myself, besides did you really think we were let them get away that easily?"

Red: "Yeah, and they started it!"

Glynda: "If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... with a pat on the back..."

The girl smiled briefly before...

Glynda: "And a slap on the wrist."

Glynda slapped the table with her 'wand thing' causing the red girl to quickly retract her hand and let out an 'eep' which caused the boy to chuckle a bit

Glynda: "But... There is someone who would like to meet both you"

The boy seemed to know exactly who she's talking about but decided not to say anything as she moved out of the way to reveal a man in green, with gray hair and very tiny glasses, holding a mug and a plate of cookies

Boy: "Heh... Ozpin"

Ozpin: "Ruby Rose... *noticing her eyes* You have silver eyes..."

Ruby: "U-Um..."

Ozpin: "So, where did you learn to do this?"

He gestured to a tablet, showing Ruby fighting with that massive scythe of hers

Ruby: "S-Signal Academy..."

Ozpin: "They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?"

Ruby: "Well... one teacher in particular."

Ozpin: "I see..."

He placed the plate of cookies on the table. Ruby took a glance at it before looking at Ozpin with that... 'look' in her eyes. Then she looked at the boy who've already moved from his position and over to the table, where he took one of the cookies. He looked at Ruby with a small smile and nodded as he bit into the cookie and sat on the table. So she picked up one cookie and ate it in one bite... then another... and another... and so on and so on, making the boy snicker a bit at her cute actions.

Ozpin: "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe wielder of that skill before... A dusty old Qrow..."

Ruby instantly began mumbling though the cookies

Ruby: "Ohhh! That's my uncle!"

She decided it was not a good idea to speak with food in her mouth so she swallowed and wiped her mouth of the crumbles

Ruby: "Sorry, That's my uncle Qrow!"

The boy smirked a bit upon hearing his name and thought...

Boy: "I knew it. He did say that I reminded him of her... I don't know why but I kind of see it..."

Ruby: "He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now I'm all like- Hooowaaahhhh!! Witchaaaa!"

She began swinging her arms around to the boy's amusement. He just patted her head.

Ozpin: "So I've noticed."

He sat down in front of Ruby

Ozpin: "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

Ruby: "Well... I want to be a Huntress."

Ozpin: "You want to slay monsters?"

Ruby: "Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, hey, I might as well make a career out of it! I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!"

She flipped out at the end, looking at Ozpin, Glynda and the boy with a wide, crazy smile. The boy just smiled back

Boy: "That's really, humble of you Ruby."

Ruby turned to face the boy and gave him a bright, cheeky and adorable smile while he slightly chuckled. Ozpin let out a grunt of confirmation before turning to face the boy,

Ozpin: "And you, Ayato Jade. If I'm correct, you're from Argus, am I right?"

Ayato pulled down his hood, revealing his hair to be white, almost matching his wings

Ayato: "That's right."

Ozpin: "And judging from your experience with your Semblance and weapons, you've already Graduated from..."

Ayato: "Sanctum Academy."

Ozpin: "So you should be going to a Huntsman Academy this year. But, why did you end up in Vale? Aren't you supposed to be going to Haven Academy?"

Ayato: "Well... that's what normal people think. I want to apply to Beacon. In fact, I've already applied here. My reasons being, it's the school my parents went to and I want to prove to the people of Vale that they can rely on the Faunus too."

Ozpin: "I see... And you're a Faunus yourself... A Phoenix Faunus to be more specific... Quite rare to have wings for a Faunus trait, let alone Phoenix Wings. You truly are a special one."

Ayato: "I get that a lot."

Ozpin: "Hmm... Do you know who I am?"

Ruby: "You're Professor Ozpin, the headmaster at Beacon"

Ozpin: "Hello"

Ruby and Ayato: "Nice to meet you."

Ozpin: "You both want to come to my school?"

Ayato: "That's why I'm here."

Ruby: "More than anything."

Ozpin looked to Glynda who gave him a look of disapproval. He then turned back to face Ruby and Ayato with a smile

Ozpin: "Well, alright"

Without thinking, Ruby instantly hugged Ayato from his side with excitement. Ayato was a bit taken back to decided to let her win the round and he patted her head. Ruby quickly realized what she was doing and quickly backed away, blushing madly and apologizing, to which Ayato laughed

Ozpin: "Well, I do believe you are free to go now"

Ruby and Ayato: "Thank you Professor."

The two began walking out of the room until being stopped by Ozpin calling Ayato's name.

Ozpin: "Mr. Jade, may I have a quick word with you?"

Ayato: "Huh...? Sure thing sir."

Ayato quickly looked at Ruby and gave her a nod which she returned as the separated. When Ruby left the room, Ayato smirked a bit and turned to face Ozpin

Ozpin: "So, what do you think of her?"

Ayato: "I think, she has what it takes to be an amazing Huntress, like Qrow, like Tai... And like... Summer..."

Ayato looked down a bit after saying her name... Summer Rose, Ruby's mother... Ozpin got up and placed his hand on his shoulder

Ozpin: "I was thinking the same too... Now then, run along and we'll see each other when school opens up, Ayato Jade... Or, should I say, Dairoku Rein"

Ayato- err... Dairoku smirked at his comment before walking towards the door, while saying

Dairoku: "We sure will, Oz"

And with that, he walked out of the room, leaving a satisfied Ozpin.

(Ayato/Dairoku's POV)

When I walked out of the room after having that small talk with Oz, I felt a tug on my coat. I turned around to see Ruby looking up at me with those shining silver eyes of hers

Me: "What's up Ruby?"

Ruby: "Well, I was wondering... Since you said you just arrived here from Argus, do you have anywhere to stay until we have to go to Beacon?

Me: "Oh... W-Well... no not really. Why are you asking?"

Ruby: "Oh... I-I was wondering if you would like to stay at my house until we have to go to Beacon..."

Me: "R-Really...? Um... Sure thing."

Ruby: "Wait, really!?"

Me: "Yeah, I don't mind, Little Rose"

Ruby: "L-Little Rose?"

Me: "It's the nickname I've decided to give you because you're like a cute little rose"

Ruby suddenly blushed at my comment, causing me to laugh at her adorable and flustered face. I then held my hand out to her, with a smile across my face

Me: So, shall we get going Little Rose?"

She suddenly gained a big grin on her face

Ruby: "Woohooo! Yes! Let's go then!"

She was so excited at my response, it almost made me blush a little from how adorable she was. She suddenly grabbed my hand and dashed away, pulling me with her but she turned into rose petals and was moving at high speeds...

Me: "W-WHAT THE HELL!???" "Is this her Semblance? It's similar to Kuraime's..."

Welp, seems like I've made a new friend and... housemate...?

So that was the Prologue to my first ever fanfic, Mythical Rose. Ayato, or Dairoku seems like a mysterious person. Hmm... Anyways, I hope you guys will enjoy Mythical Rose and yes, I am planning on going through every Volume. Look forward to it!
