(Dairoku's POV)

It's been a few days since I eavesdropped on Jaune saying that he lied to get into Beacon and thinks were moving slowly. Strange thing is, Jaune was with Cardin more often than usual... Pyrrha was being a bit distant with Jaune... Probably because she noticed him hanging out with Cardin too... I was walking back to my dorm when I heard a conversation... Now that I thought about it, I always run into people talking when I'm going to my dorm... Anyways, I recognized the voices to be Jaune and Ruby. I decided to listen in.

Jaune: I'm a failure...

Ruby: Nope.

Jaune: Nope?

Ruby: Nope. You're a leader now Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure.

Jaune: But, what if I'm a failure at being a leader?

Ruby: Hmmm... Nope.

Jaune: *sigh* you know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff...

My thoughts: That we can agree on...

Ruby: Nope! Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid, and you might have been a failure the first day we met. But you can't be one now. You know why?

Jaune: Uhhh... Because...

Ruby: Because it's not about you anymore. You've got a team now Jaune. We both do. And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first, and ourselves second. I'll tell you what Dairoku told me and Weiss. Being a leader isn't just a title we carry into battle. But is a badge that we can never take off and with that badge, also comes a burden. Being a leader also means we're is responsible for each and every one of your safety's. One wrong move, one bad order could put any one of our teammates in danger. And that burden's now placed on our shoulders... You're team deserves a great leader Jaune, and I think that can be you. Have a good night Jaune.

I heard Ruby walk back into her dorm before closing the door. I crossed my arms and smiled with satisfaction at Ruby's speech.

My thoughts: Couldn't have said it any better myself... You're really learning Little Rose... I'm very proud of you... and I know Tai and Summer would be too...

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard the sound of a scroll. I looked back to Jaune and my suspicions were correct... It was his scroll and there was a message from Cardin... I had a bad feeling about this...

Cardin's Message: Hey! It's our buddy Cardin. I know you're probably busy with that Dust project I gave you, buuuutttt, I'm going to need you to go out and get me a bag of Rapier Wasps. And make sure they've got some really big stingers. It's important, so don't screw this up. Unless you want me to tell Ozpin about your fake transcripts.

My thoughts: That coward... He heard about Jaune and now he's using it to blackmail him... Real question is... why does he need Rapier Wasps...? I guess I'll see tomorrow as all the first years are going out to the Forest of Forever Fall with Glynda and she asked me to accompany them... I'll just be real suspicious about him...

I heard Jaune sigh before he started to walk off in the opposite direction.

Me: What are you going to do Jaune...?

CHAPTER: HEROES ARE MADE.

(3rd Person POV)

The first year students have arrived at the Forest of Forever Fall, guided by Glynda. She began to speak up, grabbing everyone's attention as they walked.

Glynda: Yes students, the Forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sightsee, Professor Peaches asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest. And I'm here to make sure that none of you die while doing so. In addition, I have also asked Mr. Rein to assist us but... he's late.

As Glynda went off on a rant about Dairoku being late, the phoenix Faunus himself landed behind the annoyed professor, with a smirk on his face. Everyone saw him but Dairoku gestured for them to stay quiet. He began to sneak up on Glynda as she continued her rant, smirking all the way. He then even began to mock-mimic Glynda's rant in silent movements. Ruby, Yang and Nora did their best to contain their laughter, while Blake and Pyrrha chuckled a bit and Weiss just rolled her eyes, but she was smiling at the same time. Glynda noticed their attitudes and gave them a 'look'

Glynda: What are you all laughing at?

Before she could question them further, Dairoku stopped mimicking her and decided to pull a little stunt that could get him in trouble if it was with any regular teacher. Dairoku stuck his foot in between Glynda's and tripped her, causing her to start falling and let go of her tablet. Fortunately for her or unfortunately for her, Dairoku caught her bridal-style in his arms and caught her tablet with his left wing. Glynda looked terrified but then annoyed at him with her face red with embarrassment; Ruby, Yang and Nora could be heard laughing while Blake, Pyrrha and even Weiss let out a few chuckles.

Dairoku: Hello there.

Glynda: *sigh* honestly Dairoku... Must you always behave in such a manner?

Dairoku: Would you have me any other way?

Glynda just sighed as Dairoku let her down and gave her back her tablet. She gave him another glare before turning back to the students. Dairoku just shout-whispered to them,

Dairoku: Yup, she loves me.

Some students began laughing again but Glynda just turned around and glared at him before hitting him in his head with her 'wand thing' causing him to hold it in pain with cartoony tears in his eyes

Dairoku: Ouch! Must you always be so cold Wicked Witch of the West?

Glynda sighed with annoyance before turning back to her students.

Glynda: Anyways... Each of you is to gather one jars worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4:00. Have Fun!

(Dairoku's POV)

Everyone started to go off in their separate way. I saw Cardin dragging Jaune away with him and Pyrrha looking at him, upset. I decided to walk over to her and lighten her up a bit.

Me: Come on, Achilles Tomato, let's collect ourselves some red sap.

A tick of anger popped up on her head as she walked towards me, looking mad to my delight.

Pyrrah: How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that!?

I just chuckled as we began to make our way toward Ruby and her team. The Little Rose saw us immediately and waved us over.

Ruby: Hey Dairoku, Pyrrha!

We both just waved at her and walked over to her and her team.

Yang: That was pretty funny what you did back there. I'm surprised Professor Goodwitch didn't give you detention for it.

Me: Nah. I've known Glynda for a long time now. She may get annoyed the hell out of it but she's used to it. Heck, I think she's starting to like it... That hit she gave me didn't hurt as much as the ones she used to give me...

Weiss: Wait, you knew Professor Goodwitch on a first name basis before you came to Beacon?

Me: Yup. Her and Ozpin are close friends of my father. They always used to visit him and I've trained with both of them before. You already know I trained with Glynda but I also trained with Ozpin. Obviously I lost but I kept him on his toes. I'm really close with them and consider them family.

Ren: Wow... I didn't know you were so close to Professor Goodwitch and Professor Ozpin.

He said that as he handed Nora a full Jar while receiving an empty one from her.

Me: Yeah, I consider them as an Aunt and Uncle respectively. Oh and um, Ren...?

Ren: Yes...?

Me: You might wanna deal with your situation over there...

I pointed to Nora who was in the process of eating the jar of sap he gave her...

Ren: Nora!

Nora: Sorry Ren!

Blake: Hey Dairoku, I've been meaning to ask you something.

Me: I'm all ears.

Blake: Where is your team? I haven't seen them since school started.

Me: Their on a mission right now.

Yang: Their still on a mission? It's been like two months now.

Me: Yes but second year students get missions that can last longer than first year student missions. But even so, they should be back soon... If I was to predict though, I'd say they'll be back within the week.

Ruby: Ohhh!!! I can't wait to meet your team and see what super cool weapons they have!

Ruby had stars sparkling in her eyes. I just laughed and patted her head

Me: Well, I'll just give you a slight hint. One of my teammate's weapon is very similar to your Crescent Rose, Little Rose.

Ruby: *gasp* Another Scythe user!!?? Ohhh I can't wait!!!

Ruby was basically beaming with joy. While I was talking with them I saw out of the corner Jaune on a slight cliff with a jar filled with sap; he looked like he was aiming it at... Pyrrha...? But his arm was shaking. Cardin had to have been blackmailing him to do this. I stretched my wing out to Pyrrha and pulled her close to me, making sure my wing protected her.

Pyrrha: D-Daiku? What's the occasion?

Me: I don't know. This just reminded me of when we were at Sanctum. When we were together, I'd always wrap my wings around you like this, you remember Angel?

She smiled with a slight blush.

Pyrrha: Yes I remember, though people began thinking we were dating because of it...

Me: Hehehe... Yeah...

Pyrrha: Speaking of which, have you found a girlfriend yet?

Me: H-Huh? No not yet, though I might have feelings for someone...

Pyrrha: Hmm... Ehehehe I wonder who that is~

She was giving me a sly smirk but I was about to mess with her hard.

Me: What if I told you it you Sweet Angel? I don't know if you knew but I've always had a thing for strong red heads.

There was silence for a short while but then I saw steam puff out of Pyrrha's ears and her face turn to the color of the forest.

Pyrrha: D-DAIKU!!!

Me: Hahahaha, you're cute when your all flustered you know that Angel? Don't worry, I'm just messing with you. Besides, I already know you have a thing for ol' Jauney boy.

Pyrrha: Dai-ro-KUUUUU!!!!

Pyrrha was blushing and pouting like mad to my amusement. If Jaune ever opens his damn eyes, he's be a very lucky guy. Both Pyrrha and I agreed that we would work best as best friends rather than a couple so neither of us will feel anything of the other got with someone else.

(Pyrrha pouting)

Speaking of Jaune, I looked back at him to see him aiming at me but he was trying to resist

My thoughts: Don't do it Jaune... This isn't the path towards a hero.

Eventually, I saw Jaune drop his hand. I sighed in relief

My Thoughts: Attaboy Jaune.

I just saw Jaune throw the sap in the other direction, at Cardin I assumed... then he was forcefully dragged deeper into the forest... I knew his team was going to do something to Jaune. I removed my wing from Pyrrha and began to fly

Me: I'll be back. I'm going to check on something.

She just nodded and went back to collecting sap. I flew over in the direction I saw Jaune getting dragged in. Along the way, I saw Russel, Sky and Dove running away shouting Ursa. I sped over to the area they were coming from, only to see Cardin on the ground about to get attacked by an Ursa but Jaune stepped in and defended him. I landed next to a tree, landed next to it and crossed my arms. As the fight went on, I saw Pyrrha, Ruby and Weiss closing in but I held my hand out in front of them, stopping them. Weiss was about to protest but I stopped her

Me: This is his fight. Not ours.

Then I decided to give him some encouragement.

Me: Come on Jaune, you can do this!

He looked at me upon hearing my voice and saw Pyrrha, Ruby and Weiss behind me. He looked at us annoyed and shouted

Jaune: You know, some help would be nice guys!

Me: Funny coming from you as you said you don't want to be the damsel in distress anymore.

Jaune went wide eyed when he realized I heard his conversation with Pyrrha.

Me: Don't lose focus! You can do this Jaune, I know you can! Pyrrah knows it! We all do!

He looked a bit shocked before smiling and nodding to me. He continued his battle with the Ursa and he wasn't doing half bad at all. Unfortunately though, the Ursa managed to knock his sword out of his hand and kept him away from it. I had an idea. I unsheathed Glacial from my right wing and threw it at him

Me: Catch Jaune!

He quickly turned around to see my Glacial flying right at him. He grabbed its hilt and began charging then Ursa. He began lowering his shield which was a bad move but suddenly, I saw a thin black aura outline his shield, raising it up to block the Ursa's claw, then he slashed its head, clean off. I smiled knowing that it was, Pyrrha and her Polarity Semblance.

Ruby: Uh... what?

Weiss: How did you...?

Pyrrha: Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs and Daiku has his pyromancy. My semblance is Polarity.

Ruby: Woah... you can control poles...

I nearly choked on my own spit from what she just said

Me: Please tell me you aren't serious... Little Rose...

Weiss You dunce! It means she has control over magnetism.

Ruby: Magnets are cool too...

Ruby whispered that last part which earned her a head pat from me. I then walked over to Jaune, picking up his sword along the way

Me: Good job Jaune. I knew you could do it.

Jaune: Thanks but I couldn't have done it without your help... I guess you heard about me lying to get into Beacon too?

Me: Yup.

Jaune: So are you going to tell Ozpin?

Me: Nope. And even if I was gonna, I wouldn't have to as I'm basically 100% sure he already knows.

Jaune: H-He does...?

Me: Jaune, Ozpin's a smart man. If he wanted you gone, you would have been gone the moment you set foot at the school.

Jaune: Yeah... I-I guess so.

Me: Jaune, do you think I was born naturally with this skill level? Of course not, and the same goes to your dad, granddad and his dad. We all had to work hard to become as strong as we are. And I can guarantee that they had people to help them, as did I. And you do too.

I held my fist out to him and we fist bumped with smiles on our faces. We both looked to Pyrrha who was smiling before walking away. I handed Jaune his sword as he handed me my Glacial and we both sheathed them.

Jaune: Thanks Dairoku.

Me: Anytime.

I started to fly away before stopping and looking back at him.

Me: Heroes aren't born Jaune, they are made. Never forget that.

Jaune nodded at me and I flew off towards the others. When I landed, Pyrrha instantly greeted me with a smile and hug. I hugged her back while smiling.

Pyrrha: Thank you Daiku.

Me: Of course Angel.

We pulled away and just smiled at each other. Then I had a funny idea.

Me: You know, you're going to have to have your work cut out for you, Achilles Tomato.

Pyrrha: STOP CALLING ME THAT YOU FRIED CHICKEN!!!

Me: Hahahahaha. I love you too Angel.

(Time skip)

It was nighttime and I was flying up to the roof where I saw Jaune and Pyrrha talking; seems like he finally decided to take our advice. Then I heard Jaune say as I got closer,

Jaune: Wait! I know I don't deserve it after all that happened, but... would you still be willing to help me...? To help me become a better fighter?

Pyrrha turned around and crossed her arms to think. She then saw me approaching in the corner of her eye and smiled, giving me a slight nod. I nodded back while smiling. I flew behind Jaune as Pyrrha turned around to look at him with a smirk. I then got behind Jaune and pushing him down, flat on his face. He turned around to see me,

Jaune: Hey! What was that-

Pyrrha: Your stance is all wrong. You need to be wider and lower to the ground.

Jaune looked slightly confused while I just chuckled.

Me; What? Didn't expect me to help too? Well think again.

I landed next to him and offered him my hand. He took it and I stood him up

Pyrrha: Let's try that again.

After a few minutes of training with Jaune and Pyrrha, I felt my scroll go off as a call was coming in. I looked at it to see it was from TB.

Me: I'll be back, I'm gonna take this call.

Pyrrha and Jaune just nodded as I went inside to answer it.

Me: What's up? Did you guys find anything?

TB: Yeah. Apparently there's been a lot more White Fang activity in Vale recently. And rumors have been going around about Roman Torchwick working with them

Me: Roman? What would he gain from working with them...? Better question is why are the White Fang working with a human?

TB: You're guess is as good as mine but I have a feeling that something big's coming... Anyways, that's all we were able to find out.

Me: It's better than nothing. I'll let Oz know and I'll keep watch in Vale. Oh, by the way, when are you guys supposed to be back?

TB: Actually, we're on our way now. We should be back by tomorrow night.

Me: Good to hear. How are the girls doing?

TB: Asleep though I find it strange that one of them ate a full buffet of meat then a bag a sugar cookies... Anyways, how's my sister doing over there?

Me: You know the usual. Quiet, likes to read, keeps to herself but she's been talking a bit more to her team and friends.

TB: Heh, sounds just like her. She's gonna be surprised to see me.

Me: I bet she will be. Anyways, I'll see you guys soon.

TB: Yeah, we'll definitely see you guys tomorrow. Talk to you later Dairoku.

Me: Heh, right back at you Tyros.

I ended the call with satisfaction and went back outside to continue training with Jaune and Pyrrha... I'll soon be reunited with my team...
