(Ayato/Dairoku's POV)

So, for the next week or two, I kind of lost count, I was staying at Ruby's house which was a nice cottage on an island. I met her half sister, Yang,

their adorable little dog, Zwei

and I 'met' their dad, Taiyang.

Tai wasn't too happy that Ruby brought home a boy but accepted me into the house hold; I chose to sleep on the couch to Yang's disappointment as I knew Tai wasn't going to last a minute of the thought of me sleeping in the same room as one of his daughters. When I was alone with Tai, we'd talk and catch up. We'd tell fun things about Summer, Team STRQ and my parents; if only dad was there to join us... He was probably too busy on a mission... We even sparred for a bit; he was just as strong as I remembered. I asked Tai if he had more stories about my mom and he happily told me; she was apparently similar to Summer; those two were best friends. I never knew my mom that well and my dad never liked to talk about her but I understood.

Finally, Ruby, Yang and I were on a ship that was taking us to Beacon... I don't think I was going to see my friends for the first few days for reasons but, I knew they were coming back; after all, they are my team. Yang was being all... I don't know how to describe it, with Ruby as she didn't expect Ruby to be coming to Beacon this early. I wasn't surprised when Oz let her in as he has a habit of doing that; in fact, he did that to me, my sister and my best friend.

Yang: "Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!"

Yang proceeded to bear hug Ruby, causing her to try and break out to my amusement.

Ruby: "*gasping for air* Please... Stop..."

I just laughed at this. Yang finally decided to not kill her sister before her first day even began and let her go

Yang: "But I'm so proud of you!"

Ruby: "Really sis, it was nothing."

Yang: "What do you mean!? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees"

Ruby: "I don't want to be the 'bee's knees' okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees... Besides, it wasn't just me, Ayato helped me out."

Yang: "What's with you? Aren't you excided??"

Ruby: "Of course I'm excited, I just got moved ahead two years. I don't want anyone to think I'm special or anything..."

I decided to get in this as I placed my hand on Ruby's shoulder, causing her to look at me who was giving her a comforting and proud smile

Me: "Don't worry about it Little Rose, I'll be here with you every the step of the way. Besides, I believe Professor Ozpin had a good reason to let you in the school early and I see a reason myself; your filled with hope and you want to make a difference, not to mention that you're really skilled with Crescent Rose. You deserved this gift."

A grateful smile crept up on Ruby's face as we looked at each other; she seemed really happy at my response

Ruby: "Thank you, Ayato"

I just nodded at her. Our beautiful moment was soon interrupted by Yang...

Yang: "Aww that's so cute! You two are so adorable together! And the nickname he gave you, Little Rose, so cute!!!"

Ruby: "YAAANG!"

I stared in amusement as the two half sisters bickered at each other, Yang making fun of Ruby while the latter's face kept getting redder from embarrassment. Our attention was grabbed by the projector presenting the news about that Ginger Guy with the Bowler hat, Roman Torchwick and his evasion of the authorities. Then it changed to a Faunus Civil Right Protest that was crashed by members of the White Fang... When I saw this, it made me tense up a little... I was never a part of the fang but seeing a bunch of Faunus going down the path of hate and darkness, hurt me... But seeing humans treat non violent Faunus like trash... It reminded me of that one bastard with the white hair and ugly-ass mustache... But this is why I 'wanted to' attend Beacon; I wanted to show the people that they can rely on the Faunus for support too... I was pulled out of my thoughts when the broadcast was interrupted by a hologram of Glynda showing up

Glynda: "Hello and welcome to Beacon."

Yang: "Who's that?"

Me: "That's...-"

Glynda: "My name is Glynda Goodwitch."

Me: "...What she said..."

Yang: "Oh."

Glynda: "You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world."

The hologram disappeared as Ruby looked out of the window, me following her

Ruby: "Oh wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here! I guess home isn't too far after all!"

Yang: "Beacon's our home now."

Me: "You've got that right Goldilocks"

Our moment was again interrupted... this time by groaning... We looked behind us to see a blonde kid, franticly running towards the back of the ship, holding his mouth; poor dude

Me: "Welp... that doesn't look good"

Yang: "Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone."

Ruby: "It was a nice moment while it lasted. I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy. Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!"

Yang: "Gross gross gross gross gross gross gross!"

Ruby: "G-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Ayato, help me!"

Me: "Don't drag me into this! Gahhhh! Get away!"

Oh boy...! This year is definitely gonna be interesting; I hope that blonde kid doesn't get picked on for his... unfortunate situation...

CHAPTER 1: BEACON ACADEMY

(Ayato/Dairoku's POV)

When the ship landed, we all exited, with the poor blonde kid running past me to release his breakfast into a nearby trash can. I waved the half sisters goodbye for now as I walked over to the blonde kid

"Motion Sickness sucks huh?"

Blonde: "Yeah... Tell me about it... Name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it!"

He offered his hand to me which I took and shook it with a friendly smile.

Me: "Ayato Jade, and do they?"

Jaune: "Well... no, but they will! My mom always told me that girls look for confidence."

We were interrupted, either for the best or worst by the sound of an explosion...It sounded like Dust and I already knew what happened... We both head over to the epicenter of the explosion, only to see a decent sized crater, with Ruby lying in it face first, looking defeated... Oh... boy...I walked up to her and offered my hand to her, which she took

Me: "Sooo.... What the hell happened here Little Rose?

Ruby: "Well first of all, you ditched me and then Yang ditched me and then I bumped into this really mean girl who just kept on shouting at me and then I exploded when I sneezed from the Dust she was carrying and then this really creepy girl with a bow helped me out by making the mean girl go away but then when I went to thank her, she was gone and now I'm all alone!"

I took some time to process what the hell she just said as she talked really fast, and shoved all of that into one breath... I couldn't help but laugh and put my hand on her shoulder

Me: "Well fear not Little Rose, as I, Ayato Jade, have come to save you from your crippling loneliness. And I brought a blonde with me.  Ruby, meet Jaune, Jaune, meet Ruby."

The two shook hands before Ruby recognized the guy and began giggling

Ruby: "Weren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?"

Jaune: "H-Hey! Motion Sickness is a more common problem than people let on!"

Ruby: "Okay, Vomit Boy."

Jaune: "Hey!"

I decided to join the fun

Me: "If that's so, then I'll call you Crater Face."

Ruby: "H-Hey! You didn't find me in a crater the first night we met!"

Me: "Maybe not but you would have ended up in one if I didn't save your rosy butt, Crater Face."

Ruby blushed and pouted madly as she lunged at me and began swinging her arms at me but I used my wings to make sure she kept her distance; too bad her reach isn't that good without Crescent Rose.

Jaune: "Well... the name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it!"

Ruby stopped her attempt at assaulting me to give Jaune a 'really' look.

Ruby: "Do they?"

Me: "My exact question."

Jaune: "T-They will! Well, I-I hope they will... My mom always says that... N-Never mind..."

Ruby just giggles at his failed attempt as an awkward silence occurred... Then Ruby suddenly brought our her Crescent Rose and stabbed it into the pavement; seriously, that scythe is way too cool

Ruby: "So... I got this thing!"

Jaune: "W-Woah! I... Is that a scythe?"

Ruby: "It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle!"

Jaune: "A-A wha...?"

Me: "It's also a gun."

Jaune: "Oh. That's cool!"

Ruby: "So, what've you got?"

Jaune: "Oh! I uh..."

He unsheathed his sword from his left hip. It looked basic but nice nonetheless. I've always respected those who like to stick with the classic weapons.

Jaune: "I got this sword!"

Ruby: "Ooohhh!"

Me: "Classic, I love it"

Jaune: "Yeah, and I got this shield too"

He raised his arm as his scabbard expanded into a cool looking shield.

Me: "Ah... The good ol' Sword and Board"

Ruby: "So what do they do?"

Jaune: "Well, the shield gets smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it, I can just... put it away..."

Me: "But... Wouldn't it... Never mind." "I'll let you have this one Jaune"

Ruby: "Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons, so... I guess I did go a little overboard when designing it."

Me: "A 'little' but it's pretty cool nonetheless."

Jaune: "Wait... You made that thing!?"

Ruby: "Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons! Didn't you make yours?"

Jaune: "It's a hand me down. My great, great grandfather used it to fight in the war."

Ruby: "Sounds more like a family heirloom to me! Well, I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days"

Me: "You could say that again."

Jaune: "Yeah, the classics... Hey, Ayato, what about your weapon?

Me: "Hmm? Oh, well first of all..."

I lifted up my arms to show my gauntlets. The one on my right shat out a cannon while the one on my left puked out a spiky multi-segment whip. Ruby's eyes instantly lit up as she saw them while Jaune looked amazed

Me: "I got my Dreadful Sins. The cannon shoots explosive fire dust while the whip can easily rip through Grimm. But those are just my back up weapons"

(Just imagine the barrel of the third one in the gauntlet of the whip above)

Ruby/Jaune: "Back up weapons?"

I just smirked and gestured to my wings as my Dreadful Sins retracted. The two looked at my wings in confusion until handles popped out of the top of them. I grabbed them and pulled, revealing two swords, a blue one in my right and a red one in my left. Jaune looked at them in awe as Ruby just had stars in her eyes as she began fangirling over them

Me: "These beautiful girls are Glacial Blaze, my primary weapons. I forged them by infusing Dust into them; Ice dust in to Glacial and fire dust into Blaze. These two have served me wonders and they even have a few hidden tricks."

Ruby: "Really!? What kind of tricks!???"

She seemed way excited about them, to which I laughed. Glacial Blaze's blades collapsed on themselves before I clipped them back to the insides of my wings and patted Ruby's shoulder

Me: "You'll just have to wait and find out"

She pouted at me to which I just chuckled

Ruby: "Hmph... Fine."

She began looking around only to realize we were just wandering around the school... Well this was embarrassing...

Ruby: "Um, where are we going?"

Jaune: "Oh I don't know! I was following you two. You think there might be a directory? Maybe a food court? Some kind of recognizable landmark? Is, uh... that a no?"

Ruby: "That's a no."

Me: "*sigh* Just follow me... I know where the auditorium is..."

Ruby: "But didn't you just get here?"

Me: "I've been here before. Now let's get going before we're late for the ceremony."

(time skip brought to you by chibi Ayato/Dairoku holding up a sign that said 'follow me' as chibi Ruby and Jaune follow in an orderly fashion)

When we finally arrived at the auditorium, Yang immediately spotted us as we heard her call out to us.

Yang: "Hey Ruby, Ayato! Over here! I saved you two a spot!"

Ruby: "Oh hey! We gotta go! We'll see you after the ceremony!"

Me: "Later Jaune, good luck!"

Ruby instantly ran off as I waved goodbye to Jaune. Before I left, I saw a girl with red hair and green eyes, standing behind him...

Me: "Hahaha! She made it! Attagirl!"

I smiled and ran off after Ruby. When I caught up, Ruby and Yang were already indulging in a conversation.

Yang: "How's your first day going, little sister?"

Ruby: "You mean since you ditched me and I exploded?"

Yang: "Yikes! Meltdown already?"

Me: "No... She literally means... exploded... like BOOM exploded..."

Ruby: "Yeah! There was some fire and I think some ice..."

Yang: "Are you being sarcastic?"

Me: "Do we sound sarcastic Goldilocks?"

Ruby: "I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage and she yelled at me and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again and I felt really, really bad and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!"

Me: "Oof..."

Suddenly, a voice that reeked obnoxiousness and entitlement was heard...

Obnoxious: YOU!!!

We turned to see a girl with white hair in an off-set pony tail... I recognized her and I groaned in irritation... Not because I knew who she was but because of her attitude, posture and the fact that her father was a massive cuck-hole. Ruby got terrified and jumped onto my arm, hugging it way too tightly, to the point I felt the blood circulation being blocked...

Me: "Weiss Schnee... Well, at least she's not listening to Jacques but... she's sounding like him now..."

Ruby: "Oh god, it's happening again!"

Weiss was about to say something until she noticed me... She seemed a bit shock but then squinted her eyes at me...

Me: "What?"

Weiss: "You seem... familiar... um..."

Me: "Ayato"

She continued to think about it before letting it go for now. Then she went back to berating Ruby

Weiss: "Anyways... You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!"

Yang: "Oh my god, you really exploded..."

Me: "Told you... Oh and um Little Rose? Could you... let go of my hand, I'm starting to lose feeling in it..."

Ruby: "O-Oh! Sorry!"

She quickly got off my hand with a small bush and the blood circulation started back up; now I could freely move my arm... thankfully... Imagine having twin blades but only one arm... Yeah... I don't want to imagine that... Ruby then turned to Weiss

Ruby: "It was an accident!"

Weiss then held up a pamphlet titled, 'DUST for dummies and other Inadequate Individuals' to Ruby

Ruby: "What's this?"

Weiss then spoke as her voice got into a higher and higher pitch... Very obnoxious...  I just groaned in irritation... Weiss isn't a bad person by any means, she just needed to work on that attitude of hers...

Weiss: "The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practices in the field."

Ruby: "Uhhh..."

Weiss: "You really wanna start making things up to me?"

Ruby: "Absolutely...?"

Weiss handed Ruby the pamphlet... I already knew where this was going...

Weiss: "Read this, and don't ever speaking to me again."

Yang: "Look, uh it sounds like you two got off the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?"

Ruby: "Yeah! Great idea sis! Hello Weiss, I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!"

Weiss: "Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like tall, blonde, scraggly or Ayato here!"

She pointed to me and Jaune who wasn't that far from us...

Jaune: "Hmmm?"

Me: "Uhhh... Well that was unnecessary..."

Ruby: "Wow, really!??"

Weiss: "...No."

Our attention was then brought to the stage where Oz was getting ready to do his speech.

Ozpin: I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

After his... not so long speech, Oz left the stage, allowing Glynda to take over

Glynda: "You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

Everyone in the Auditorium began to talk and make their way to the ballroom while we just stood there.

Yang: "He seemed kind of... off."

Ruby: "It's almost like he wasn't even there."

Me: "Just Oz being Oz..."

Jaune then came from behind me and instantly came up to Weiss. I already knew where this was going...

Jaune: "I'm a natural blonde, you know!"

To say Weiss didn't look impressed was a MASSIVE understatement... honestly, I didn't blame her...

Me: "*sigh* Dumbass..."

(Ruby's POV)

Yang and I had gotten changed for bed and I began to write a letter to my friends at Signal. Yang flopped, literally, on to the sleeping bag next to me.

Yang: "It's like a big slumber party!"

Me: "Yeah... Though I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though... You saw his reaction when I brought home Ayato, imagine what he'd do if he saw this..."

Yang: "I know I do~"

Yang started to purr as she stared at the boys without their shirts on... Bleh... Pervert...

Yang: "Oh, speaking of Ayato, I don't see him anywhere. Where is he?"

Me: "He said he was going to speak to someone... But it has been a while since he split off... Wonder who he's talking to...?"

Yang: "Aww man! I really wanted to see him without his shirt on! I never got a chance when he was staying at our place!"

I started to blush again upon imagining Ayato without a shirt... He... did seem a bit built... W-Wait...! What am I thinking!?? I just threw a pillow at Yang.

Yang: "Oh come on, you can't deny that you want to see him shirtless too... Especially since you have a little crush on him~"

I think my face was burning at that point. My reaction? Threw another pillow at my idiot sister

Me: "Yang! Stop it! I don't like Ayato in 'that' way! He's just a really good friend!"

Yang: "Pfft, yeah sure, that's why your face is as red as your hood now."

Me: "Y-YANG!"

(Ayato/Dairoku's POV)

So it was nighttime at the infamous Beacon Academy and all the first years were in the ballroom. I had separated from Ruby and Yang and went up to the roof, without anyone spotting me. I pulled out my scroll and made a call to a number I named, TB and then put it on speaker and placed it on the ledge. After a few minutes, they 'finally' picked up.

TB: "Oh, so now you've decided to call."

I just rolled my eyes; smart ass...

Me: "I sense hostility coming from you."

TB: "Yeah well maybe I wouldn't be like this if a certain BIRD BRAIN was here to make our job easier."

Me: "Oh stop being dramatic lion cub. It's just an extermination mission, you've handled way worse before. Plus, I know since you're there, it'll go smoothly!

TB: "I'm flattered."

Me: "Heh... So, how are the girls doing?"

TB: "Same old, same old. The glutton being a glutton and little miss bird being as normal as she could ever be, though they do miss you. Can't say I agree."

Me: "Oh ha, ha. Good to hear... Tell them I miss them too and try to keep them out of trouble."

TB: "Can do. Though I might have trouble with miss glutton over here. She hasn't eaten all the food... yet..."

Me: Hahahahaha. Alright, I'll talk to you guys later."

TB: "Later bro."

I hung up the call, smiling upon hearing that they were doing just fine... Soon enough, we'll reunite... I put the scroll back in my pocket and looked up to the shattered moon above me, but I was interrupted by the door behind me opening and closing. I turned around to see who it was but boy, I wasn't expecting this. When I saw the person, I smiled and stood up to greet them, my best friend...

Me: "Heh... I was wondering when I was going to run into you... Seems like you kept your promise, ain't that right Angel?"
