Chapter 12: Never Give Up ~ A Voice
A month has passed, a vessel that was created by the government on Earth. The Atlas. Was coursing through the Northern Galaxy, asking their fellow alliance that they could ask for their help to find their lost friend and war hero, Keith. So far, they couldn't find anything or any information about his and the captors' whereabouts. For a while, everyone has begun to get tired and worrying. "Is this it?" Shiro asked, as he is captain and general among this ship that they are flying in.
"According to this," Pidge answered as she is wearing her green and white cadet uniform. "This is the final destination, that is part of the alliance."
"Is there any good news or some bad news?" Shiro asked as he and Pidge walked to the bridge.
"Not yet," Pidge nodded. "But I bet that my brother, Matt might have the answer that is been needed."
"I hope so," Shiro tightly smiled as he and Pidge has entered the bridge.
On the bridge, everyone is waiting for them. Including Coran, the four Altean mice, Hunk that is wearing his banana headband, and wearing yellow and white cadet uniform. Right next to him is Lance, who is wearing a blue and white cadet uniform. Shiro smiled suddenly a beep has sounded, one of the crew turned to him. Shiro nodded, knowing what he was about to ask. Suddenly, one of the cadets has turned and pressed the acceptance button. A crystal screen has appeared, on the screen has shown an adult that has teenaged boyish face, wearing a cadet uniform with a badge of a lieutenant. His skin is almost tan, has a scar on his cheek, hazel brown eyes, light brown hair. A formal rebel during in the ten-thousand-year-old war, and Pidge's brother and Shiro's friend. Mathew Holt, a lieutenant of the Galaxy Garrison. He is in charge of the scouting unit that he is leading for asking questions to find for what they are looking for. But within his eyes, shows something else in mind. "Matt," Shiro smiled. "Found anything?
"Sorry Shiro," Matt nodded sadly. "Our friends; the Kendra Nceba, they have not seen or heard of the Ca' Raptors. Heck, I think that they have never even of the Ca' Raptors before. At all,"
"But they did heard of Blade of Marmora," Shiro replied. "Right?"
"They have," Matt nodded. "But they did say that they will do everything they can to help out to be able to find him."
"That's understandable," Pidge replied.
Coran nodded,
"You did well Matt," Shiro smiled. "You and your crew come on back, gets some rest."
"Roger that," Matt nodded. "We'll be there at five,"
Shiro nodded, then the screen has turned black.
While everything is silence, Shiro leaned against the control council. Nearly beating himself up, he sighed. "We have to keep on searching." Then everyone in the bridge turned to him, "We can't give up on the search, not just yet."
"But Shiro," Lance spoke. "We've tried everything that we have, we asked every ally that we also have. In each, different planet and every galaxy. And there's still no sign of Keith."
"We just have to keep trying," Shiro spoke.
"We want him back as much as you do general," one of the lieutenants spoke. "But we are out of options."
"It's possible that those creatures that we have been told about," another lieutenant added. "He could have been...gone by now,"
Hunk gasped, "How could you say that?"
"Hunk's right," Lance crossed his arms. "Keith's not the one of surrender and not a giving up type of person. Who do you really think he is?"
"Enough," Shiro ordered. Everyone went to silence. "Hunk and Lance are right,"
Everyone in the crew, except for Pidge, Lance, Hunk, the Altean mice and Coran has lightly gasped.
"Keith's not just an ordinary person that you have thought that he is," Shiro began. "He is a blade and an excellent pilot. For both of a Paladin of Voltron and a space cadet of the Galaxy Garrison. He survives through many obstacles that roams within many galaxies. Even he has one it before he was even a paladin. There's no doubt that Keith can survive though this again, we all have just to have faith in that.
"Keith's not just my brother," Shiro continued. "He's everyone's brother, a friend and a hero of both sides within the galaxy. And heroes always come home. Either dead or alive. And I know that he is alive, and we will bring this hero home. No matter what the cost is, we don't leave those behind. And that "those" are in fact a brother or a sister, or a family member that are in fact most dear to us." Having memories of those that Shiro has missed, he knew what Keith has gone through, while he is looking for him. Now Shiro is doing the same for Keith. "Do you understand of what I am saying here?" Everyone remains quiet and begun to think though before silence could break.
"We understand sir," said one of the cadets as he is standing up. Suddenly, others have begun to follow. As they stand, they salute to Shiro. Pidge, Lance, Hunk, Coran and the mice follow.
"Good," Shiro begun to breath for a bit. "Now, let's get back to work." Everyone begun to return to their stations, Shiro begun to turn to the door.
"Shiro," Pidge was about to ask.
"I'm going to take a breather for a moment," Shiro spoke. "I'll put you, Lance, Hunk and Coran in charge. I'll be back for a few dobashes to varga."
"Alright," Pidge nodded. "Take your time,"
"Thanks Pidge," Shiro lightly smiled.
"No problem," then Shiro exited the bridge. Suddenly, Pidge, Lance, Hunk and Coran begun to help the crew with their work.
