The sudden sound of the castles loud alarm going off made you jump right up out of your sleep and bed. It took you a few seconds to clear your head and realise the situation and collect your thoughts. As fast as you could you slipped into your shoes and threw on a jacket before running towards the command center. Arriving there, the lights were still blinking and the siren still running loud. Coran was manning the control desk and pushing a lot of buttons in panic.
"What's wrong?" you asked Allura who walked up to you.
"I'm sorry (y/N). There was a malfunction in the system, that's why the alarm went off."
"So there is no emergency?" you turned your head to see Shiro and Keith walk up next to you. It seems like you for once beat them racing up here.
"I'm sorry if we woke you all up. Coran and I will fix the problem as soon as possible." Just as she stated her promise, the siren stopped its annoying tune and you heard Coran sigh in relief. Allura shook her head and apologised once more.
"Don't worry about it Allura." You reassured the Princess that she did not have to apologise for the incident. Both Shiro and Keith agreed with you, stating since the ship had been dormant for such a long time, something like this was bound to happen. Seeing that there was nothing you could do right now you left the room and headed off to the lounge. It was still early in the morning, about the equivalent 5 am, but you were certain, you would not be able to fall asleep again. Arriving at your destination you sat down in the sitting area. You picked up the controller for the monitor in the room and opened up the programm Coran had given to you and your other human friends too learn Altean. If you would have to kill some time, you at least wanted to do something productive.
A few minutes into your learning session you heard the doors slid open.
"Oh you're here (y/N)." Pausing the programm you turned to Keith who had entered the room.
"I wasn't able to fall asleep again so I came here to do some studing. You can join me if you want."
"It's too early to study. But I'll keep you company if you want to." Keith did not seem very egar to learn the foreing language, but was nice enough to want to spend some time with you.
Patting the space next to you he made his way over to the sitting place and sat next to you. Giving him a smile you started the program up again and keept studying. Time passed and the only thing you could hear was your own voice trying to pronounce the complicated altean words the computer was telling you and were displayed on the screen. At some point, you heard Keith grunt a bit displeased next to you.
"(y/N), put your hands up in the air." Confused you turned to the black haird boy. "Just do it." Before doing as he said you stared at him for a while and shrugged your shoulders. Your hands went into the air and you aksked yourself what he wanted to accomplice with this. To your surprise he then rested his head on your lap, without asking for permission may I add. You let out a surpeised yelp and nervously looked at the boy.
"The seets here aren't that confortable of you want to rest. Just let me sleep a bit like this untill we acctually have to get up." He crossed his arms and closed his eyes, making himself confortable. Since you were not really sure how to react, you stayed still until you were sure he was in a deep sleep. Then, with a bright red cheeks, you covered your face with your hands, trying to calm yourself down. Your heart was beating rapidly since the guy you liked acctually was laying his head in your lap. Before letting out a small and happy squel you were able to cover your mouth. When you had managed to calm yourself down a bit, you continued woth studing. But with a big smile on your face for the rest of the lession.
