Lance let out a huff and threw himself onto the bed.

He just got yelled at again by his team mates for "slacking off" during training again.

Keith yelled at him for not trying hard enough when the training bot knocked him down at the beginning of level 3.

"Oh come on!" He yelled.

"Keith." Shiro started, resting a hand on his shoulder trying to calm the red paladin down.

"He's not even trying!"

"I'm sure Lance is trying the best he can."

"Pff. Well if that's his best then-"

"Keith." Shiro said in his warning dad tone.

After training, Lance flirted with Allura to ease some of the tension after getting bad news about the Galra attacking and taking prisoners from an allied planet. But instead of lightening the mood like he had intended all he got was angry glare and a scolding from Shiro. An unamused sigh from Pidge and a disappointed head shake from Hunk.

Later he was bored and he went to go check up on Hunk who was cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

"Hey man." He said.

"Hey." Hunk said, gaze fixed on the blue mixture.

"Whatcha cooking?" Lance asked hopping up onto the counter and peering into the bowl.

"I'm trying out a new recipe with the ingredients I got of the space market."

"Cool."

There was a silence.

When Hunk was done mixing Lance dipped his finger into the mixture to taste. Which Hunk would usually ask him to taste the food anyways to see if it was missing something.

"Blegh." Lance cringed at the bland flavour. "It definitely needs a bit of something."

"That's because I'm not done yet." Hunk said going through the cabinet and grabbing some spices. He placed them on the counter next to the bowl.

"Look, buddy. I love you, but can you, you know, leave me alone to do my thing." A small but unnoticeable frown briefly made its way to Lance's face.

"Yeah, sure." He hopped off the counter and exited the kitchen. He made his way over to Pidge's small workshop. He found her working on a small gadget.

"Hey Pidge."

She groaned in annoyance.

"Hey, Lance." She struggled to fit two pieces together. "What do you want? I'm busy right now."

"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to check on you because I'm bored."

"Well, I'm fine. Now if that's all then can you leave?"

"O-oh. Of course, I'll get out of your hair." He let out a quick and awkward laugh.

He went to the main room where Allura and Shiro were discussing plans to free the prisoners that the Galra took. He knew better than to disturb them after what happened last time.

He saw Keith training hard in the training room, like usual. He definitely didn't want to cross paths with him after training. What he said had embarrassed him and really took a jab at his self esteem which was already weak and crippled.

Which brought him to where he was now.

Sprawled out on his bed.

Staring at the ceiling dejectedly.

Just the other day they were all having a good time together. The Galra seemed to be taking a break from attacking. So Allura decided that it was time for a much needed and deserved break. Hunk made cookies for everyone. Pidge set up a projector movie. The movie was staring an alien species they didn't know of. And they had no clue what they were saying. But they all had fun creating their own funny dubs. Lance found it very nice to have everyone getting along and having a good time with each other. They were all being nice to him. Even Keith. He thought that they had finally turned a new page in their relationship. And that from now on things would start looking up and they'd start treating him better. But today it was time to get back into the swing of things and start training again. And things returned back to the way they were.

Lance rolled over and leaned over the side of the bed. He picked up a guitar, which he had actually found in a store at the space mall with human things from earth. Of course the aliens had no clue what they were or what their functions were. Like the "hair detangler" which was really a fork.

Lance started to strum the strings of the guitar thinking of the words to sing.
