Crista pov

In the Bridge of the Castle of Lions, shiro awakens next to me to sendak ordering haxus to find the saboteur who is thwarting their plans " Haxus! I want whoever's in this ship found and terminated!" Sendak shouted " Commander Sendak, I've received a transmission generating from somewhere inside." My eyes widened when Haxus starts playing a communication channel out loud, which allura and Pidges voices were heard speaking "There's not much time before they get the ship running again. You must shut off the particle barrier so we can get in." Allura said "You got it. Tell me what to do." Pidges says "The particle barrier generator is beneath the main hull-" haxus, who turned to sendak with allura's instructions still playing " She's telling the intruder how to take down our defenses." Sendak turns away from him and says  "Yes, but she's also giving away his location. Find that room. Kill the Paladin!" The Galra Sentries behind, shiro, Lance and me then march out of the room " Repair the engine. Emperor Zarkon has commanded us to bring him Voltron. This ship will rise before day's end."

Pidges pov

inside the Castle of Lions at the Generator Room: a long hall of energy arcs. PIDGE speaks to ALLURA through the team's communication channel.

"Pidge, have you made it to the Generator Room?" Allura asked "I'm in. This technology is so advanced, I don't know if I can figure it out." I said while looking around down the hall which had purple sparks of electricity going upwards "Yes, you can. The lives of your fellow Paladins are at stake. You can't give up." I frowned at the Thought of crista and the others being held captive by thoughs jerks, In the past, I remember when I sat with my family at dinner.

Flashback

Before the kurberos mission me and my family were enjoying our meal " Hope you enjoy this home-cooked meal, Matt. After our launch to Kerberos tomorrow, we'll be eating freeze-dried peas for the next two months." My dad said "Don't lie. I know you love those peas, Dad." Matt grinned, which dad chuckled " It's true. Those Garrison chefs really know how to genetically manufacture a delicious vegetable." I sighed "I wish I was going up with you guys."

"Just you wait, kiddo. Something tells me that you're going to have your own crew someday. And you're going to fly with them to worlds so far away, we can't even imagine. I bet my bottom dollar you're going to be part of something that makes the whole universe sit up and take notice." I couldn't help but smile " and don't forget, you have Crista by your side" mom chimes " that's right, you two are like to peas in a pod" dad smiled " and just in case she's still single, let her know I'm still free!" Matts comment made all of us burst into laughter

My smile soon disappeared, when we witnessed the news broadcast of the Kerberos Mission Disaster "The Galaxy Garrison mission to the distant moon of Kerberos is missing, and all crew members are believed to be dead" the picture on the screen showed four members shiro, my dad, Matt and crista's brother " The Galaxy Garrison has said the crash was presumably caused by pilot error. It is, indeed, a sad day for all humanity." The woman on tv said, I was enraged, and for crista's brother

My memory of the time I snuck into the garrison came back

I hacked into computers at the Galaxy Garrison to try and find out the truth, just then the lights came on and commander iverson found me in his office, let's just say he was really mad " You again? Get off my computer! How did you get past the guards?" He demanded " You said the spacecraft went down due to pilot error. I saw the video feeds from your probes. There's no evidence of a crash anywhere on Kerberos!" I snapped "Those feeds are classified! I could charge you with treason for hacking into them." He grabbed my arm harshly and dragged me out, practically throwing me out the room but I stood my ground " Where's my family?!" I demanded, he just ignored me and turned to the guard outside next to me "Escort Miss Holt off the premises and make sure every guard knows she's never allowed on Garrison property ever again!." The guard then restrained me, but I wasn't going to give up " You can't keep me out! I'll find the truth! I'll never stop!" I yelled

The flashback ends.

I continued to talk to ALLURA through the communication channel

"Okay. Talk me through it, Allura." I said "Shutting down the barrier from this room can be dangerous. Remember, the barrier is also a weapon. So, stay away from the energy arcs." She warned "Don't touch the giant lightning bolts. Got it." " Now, what I'm going to need you to do is—" just before she was about to finish, rover suddenly shoved me and I hear a laser shot behind my head, I looked and saw a half a sentry "Pidge! Hello? Are you there?" I couldn't respond to allura's calls do I ran from the Sentries

Meanwhile outside no ones pov

Allura was stood outside the Castleship with Keith, worried that she couldn't hear pidge anymore "Pidge, what's going on? ... Wait... the mice! Maybe they can help." She then focuses and telepathically speaks to the Altean Mice ' Friends, I need your help." The Mice were apparently sleeping with scruff in Allura's room. ( wow! How can they sleep though everything that's going on?! You have to be kidding me! XD) The big yellow one wake up and knocks into allura's Jewry box, which the other three inside wake and scurry into scruffs back, who wakes up, listening to them and runs off

With pidge

PIDGE was trapped behind a structure in the Generator Room under laser fire, her map then showed an exit shaft above her, behind the sentry she "My only way out is two floors up? Seriously?" She exclaimed not very happy, she yells and avoids being shot. She generates a hologram of herself from her armor

"Let's try this." She smirked, The hologram of herself runs out from her position towards the energy arcs

"There!" One of the sentry shouts, one of the Sentrys fires at the hologram, destroying it and hitting the energy arc, causing it to explode and take out a Sentry.PIDGE runs for the exit shaft above, while avoiding enemy shots, fires her grappling hook, screaming and she flung up to the exit shaft "Whoa! Can't believe that worked!" She cheered, only to be interrupted by  The Sentries firing their lasers at her; she flees with rover into the vents. One Sentry started instructing the others "You stay and guard the generator." He said while ushering the other to follow

One of them stayed behind as two pursue pidge. She exits the shaft by slicing the vent lid and ends up at the Training Deck, The two Sentries jump out from the com room, shattering the glass and startling pidge, they start attacking but pidge defended with her shield with her shield, then comes up with an idea, and accesses the invisible maze " The invisible maze. Let's see them get through this."
She then ran forward, dodging one of their attacks, then slipping through the others legs, soon the download was complete and the invisible maze activated

The Sentries were trapped, one got destroyed by the maze's shocks, while the other was still trying to get to pidge, she used to this time to escapes through another shaft in the floor with rover, pidge started crawling through the vents yet again, one laser nearly hit her, so she literally barrels out the way down the vent with the remaining sentry pursuing her, she gets hit by laser fire and falls down a shaft, she stops herself but shooting her bayard, then pulls it down, dragging the sentry with it, the Sentry falls and explodes, producing shock waves that make pidge lose her footing. But rover hovers behind her, stopping her froms falling to her death. "Rover! Nice save, buddy."she praised, Who beeps happily, and exits the shafts into an empty hallway of the Castle of Lions and recall the day she took on the identity as pidge

Flashback, Pidge pov
In the past

I stood in the bathroom in front of a mirror in a Garrison cadet uniform, this was the only way I could infiltrate the garrison without being recognised "First day of school. Time for a haircut."I took a pair of scissors, I hesitated at first but I cut my hair. At the Galaxy Garrison, that's the first place I met lance and hunk, who were stood before a list of names

"I made it! I'm a fighter pilot! " Lance cheered, doing a little victory dance

" Hasta la later, Keith!" He smirked saying sayonara to his rival for his crush and continued to look at the list "And look, you're my engineer!" He pointed towards hunks name "Cool. Uh, can I do that from the ground?" Hunk asked warily, lance just frowned and continued to scroll trough the names, then gasped " no. Way, crista's on here! As our co-pilot!" He exclaimed " no way, the,crista Rodgers?!" Hulk exclaimed in shock

" best day ever!" Lance cheered, then came upon my fake name "And our communications officer is... Who the heck is Pidge Gunderson?" He questioned "Right here." I said, both turned and saw me

"Welcome to the team, Gunderson. I'm Lance, your fighter pilot." Lance smirked "Hey, I'm Hunk." Hunk greeted me with a warm smile "We got a lot of great times ahead, so we should probably meet up with our co-pilot start bonding now. What do say we sneak off campus—" I overheard iverson's voice and saw him talking to another Garrison officer "—just a minute. Security for the Galaxy Garrison's mainframe is our first priority. It's been breached once. And by a little girl, no less. It cannot happen again!" he turned and walked towards The three of us, I saluted with my left arm as an attempted to hide my face

"Wrong arm, cadet." He said, I quickly saluted correctly, the outburst from the commander startled both lance and hunk and they started saluting as well ! as soon as iverson walked by without noticing anything about me I sighed in relief, Lance then leaned next to me "Hello? Pizza? Girls? Astronauts?" He asked "Sorry, I don't have time to mess around with you guys. See you in the simulator." I just walked past them " What's his problem?" I turned back and saw the two of them had left, I turned back and gasped when I saw crista " really Katie! Your actually gonna do this?!" She exclaimed whispering which I just shushed her " yes! I know this is a big risk! But I have to take it!" I glared, she just sighed, then smiled and said " your so reckless, fine...but not with out me" I just stared in shock " hey, remember? I've Got your back, we'll find your dad, Matt, my brother and shiro" I just smiled, and hugged her and we snuck to iverson's office

I then felt bad at the thought of leaving her and the team from before"You know, Rover, I haven't always been there for my team, and crista's always been there for me " my face turned serious "But this time I will be there for her.Come on." I start running off with rover

Meanwhile no ones pov

The Altean Mice and scruff were also infiltrating the Castle, through a tiny vent that only they could fit through, the smaller guys were fine, but the big one ended up breaking the thing in front, but did help scruff to fit through

haxus was in the Central Energy Chamber of the Castle of Lions and speaking with SENDAK through the computer "Powering sub panels."he said to sendak " Sub panel energy transducer is go." "Aye, sir. Opening pathway to link with Bridge. Initializing main cluster reboot."Meanwhile pidge was climbing a ladder on the wall to hack into the Castle's computer system through an open panel using her armor's computer  "Gotcha." She smirked

"Initializing complete. I'm set for main power up." Haxus informs "The Bridge is go." Sendak said "Powering up." Haxus starts to power up the engine, pidge hacks it to overload the engine using her armor's computer and turns up the Frequency up higher then it should  " And up, and up, and up. I would not want to be touching a metal surface when this thing overloads." The alarm then starts blaring " Sir, something is wrong." The engine then overloads and let's out an explodes of energy; Haxus got caught in the blast and wounded and yelled out in pain, collapsing on the ground, pidge jumps of the ladder and grabs rover, who hovers to avoid being electrocuted, he then brought pidge down safely, in front  of Haxus, who was lying against the panel

" You're the one causing all this trouble? A child?" He glared "I'm not a child. I'm a Paladin of Voltron." Haxus chuckled, drawing his sword "Let me tell you something, child. I'm a soldier of the Galra Empire. Nothing stops me but triumph or death." He yells and launches at pidge, pidge strikes haxus with her grappling hook. But he catches the rope and throws her to the side, then walked closer ups

"Nowhere left to run. Nowhere left to hide." He smirked, Just as he was about to strike, rover appeared to distract him. Pidge used this to dive between haxus's legs and throws him off-balance on the catwalk. Rover slammed himself into Haxus to knock him over but he grabbed rover to avoid falling

Pidge pov

"Rover!"  I called out to him but Rover then deactivate himself and he fell along with haxus, who yelled as he fell "No!" I tried to reach for rover but it was too late "No!" Were the last words I heard from the galran before he was gone, just then I heard sendak through the computer

"Haxus, report in." I grunted and made my way towards the computer, no way was I gonna let rovers sacrifice be in vain "Haxus is gone, and you're next!" I yelled "You've slowed me down, but this ship is mine!" Sendak yelled "You will turn yourself over to me immediately!" He demanded " Never!" I yelled "Well, then, maybe your leader can convince you. Actually, how about this young girl"
I could then hear shiro's voice through the computer yelling "What do you want? Get away from her! Crista!" He yelled, my eyes widened when I heard he had Crista"Your friend wanted to hear from her." "Crista?!" I then heard her weak voice " Pidge? Pidge, whatever you do, don't listen to—" just then I heard her scream and the sound of electricity, it was an agonising pain to hear  "No!" I screamed " stop it!!" Shiro yelled
SENDAK: "You can make it stop. Turn yourself in. Her suffering is in your hands."

In the bridge no ones pov

As soon as sendak dropped crista on the ground and walked off, she started groaning in pain, then felt a sharp pain inside' no! Not again!' Shiro noticed the scared expression and crawled over to her " crista, it's going to be okay" he reassured " n -no!" Her voice tried to control the urge to scream, pidge lurks near the entrance to the Bride in the Castle of Lions and listens as SENDAK speaks to a severely injured crista and shiro, who glared up at sendak

"I'm impressed that you managed to escape. Perhaps it would be worth the trip to your planet to see if the rest of your kind have your spirit. Of course, they will all end up broken, just like you. Now that we have Voltron, every planet, every race, all share the same fate." Shiro just glared up at sendak

Meanwhile

The Altean Mice and scruff infiltrate the Generator Room of the Castle of Lions and take out the last Galra Sentry guarding it. They press the button on the control panel to deactivate the particle barrier.

Outside, keith and allura watch the barrier disappear  "It worked!" Keith smiled
"They did it!" Allura cheered Keith and allura then ran inside to find the other paladins

Back inside

sendak sees pidge on the computer of the Castle Bridge. He then turns to attack and pursue her out of the Bridge. But It turned out to be a ruse: the real pidge snuck in while sendak was chasing a hologram

" pidge!" Crista exclaimed in relief and happiness, she rushes inside the Bridge to untie crista and shiro, our of the corner of crista's eye she was a figure enter the room and gasped when she saw who it was" don't worry, ive got-" " watch out!" Crista planted herself in between Pidge and shiro, getting grabbed by sendak's gauntlet and pulled over" crista!" Both exclaimed "You really thought your little hologram trick would work with me?"

" let her go!" Pidge yelled, Just the Keith and allura enter the Bridge. And saw crista in Sendak's grip and were mad, Keith summons his Bayard to fight, sendak just held up crista as a threat

"Stand back!"He then dropped crista who yelled as he was struck from behind by Lance's Bayard rifle. He then passes out again, both shiro and pidge rush at sendak, shiro gets knocked aside. But Keith started battles sendak. He attempted to slice sendaks arm but sendak doges and throws Keith aside, pidge severs the energy chain to his gauntlet, rendering it useless

"No!" Sendak yells enraged and battles pidge, meanwhile. Allura accesses the Bridge's computer with crista, who was untied now thanks to allura, then runs and gets into place, Keith attacks sendak again and sendak's caught his Bayard's blade. Allura finished and readied the computer.

" Keith! crista! now!" Crista charged sendak's side, kicking him off Keith, the two then kicked him into the center of the Bridge and a barrier rises up, trapping him

Afterward, pidge frees shiro while Keith checks up on Lance "Lance, are you okay?" He asked pulling lance upright "We did it. We are a good team."lance  smiles, in which Keith smiled in return

Which was interrupted with a loud thud, everyone turned and saw crista on the ground, and gasp " crista!" Pidge exclaimed, running to her side, long with the others " she's just weak from sendak's electric shock and the fight, we should start getting her and lance into the pods" Allura explained" I'll carry her " Keith offered " then I've got lance" Shiro said

Few minutes later

Both lance and crista were sleeping inside a pods, with allura, Keith, Shiro, and pidge stand by outside them in the Sleep Chamber "After a day in here, Lance should be fully healed, crista's will be short" Allura explained, Shiro then approached pidge "Pidge, we can't thank you enough for all you did. I can't help but feel that you were meant to be a part of our team... but I understand if you want to leave." He reassured

"Dad used to tell me how close he was with his crew members. They were like family. Now, I understand what he was talking about." Pidge smiled, who received a smile from the group I'm staying with you guys. Let's stop Zarkon for all of our families."

"Good to have you back on the team." Keith smiled, which pidge smiled fondly at her team
