Before everyone went to sleep

" pidge are you sure?" Shiro asked " I'm sure, plus I need to say something to her when she wakes" pidge decided since crista's recovery was going to be faster than lance's, she offered to stay behind and wait

Crista pov

When opened my eyes I was in a dark room like void, but I couldn't move
' where...am I....last thing I remember....was being in the...bridge?...'I suddenly heard a hissing sound and I could feel my body moving again "come to me Astoria...." I heard a voice ' who's Astoria?'

Pidge pov

It nearly took a lot of energy to stay awake, but I was determined to stay awake till crista woke up, just then I gasped when I heard and saw her pod open and her stumbling out "Christa! I quickly rushed to her, helping her up "p-pidge?" I just cried hugging her " I'm so glad your okay!"

" wait, what even happened?" She asked which surprised me " you really don't remember, you and lance got badly hurt by sendak's bomb!" I exclaimed " wait lance?! " I pointed towards lance in the pod next to hers, which she squeaked " oh my god! Lance!" She exclaimed " don't worry, he's fine, he should be fine tomorrow" I reassured " though quick question, you and lance shared the same pain from the explosive, on top of that when we spoke on the coms sendak shocked you with his Gantlet, how did you manage to heal faster than lance?" I asked, she looked absolutely confused " I did? I don't really know...." her head lowed " I was just wondering, did you hear a voice just a second ago, a woman's voice?" She asked " a voice?" I asked which she nodded, I shook my head

" no I didn't hear anyone" I answered, she just shrugged " I must be hearing things" she then started walking forward, but lost her footing, I quickly rushed forward and supported her " hey, why don't we get you to sleep?" I asked, she let out a weak laugh " yeah sure" I helped her back to her room and then left, letting her get some sleep, what still dawned on me was that she said she heard a voice, but who's there wasn't anyone else but me her and lance, and he was asleep, plus she said it was a woman's voice, just who's was it?

Next day

no ones pov

Christa woke up and realized she was back in her room pidge brought her back to, she looked around and noticed the white suit she wore before she changed for bed' so last night wasn't a dream, I did hear a voice'  she thought, either way she hung her head low, trying to forget and got to dress

After that I walked out of my room to find pidge with scruff on her shoulder waiting for me " ready?" She asked, which Christa nodded, along the way she decided to start a conversation " so was scruff okay staying with you last night?" Christa asked while ruffling scruffs fur " she didn't sleep with me" pidge said, the blond raised an eyebrow " then who did she stay with?" She asked " with shiro" she smirked which made christa's face burn up " w-was he okay w-with it?" She asked, pidge still had that face! " yeah he said it was fine, he's said he actually enjoyed her company, but I bet he would have loved it if it was you~" " pidge!" Christa covered her mouth with was didn't muffed her laughter

The two plus scruff walked into the champers and were immediately greeted by hunk "  Christa! Your okay!" He cried, literally lifting her of the ground into a bone crushing hug " hunk...can't...breath....I'm still alive..."her voice croaked while She patted his back smiling

" alright hunk, she just got out of the pod yesterday" shiro chuckled " hey shiro" Crista greeted, getting pulled into a small hug " glad your okay crista" he said, which She giggled " hey takes more than some purple fur ball to knock a peg or two outta me" She joked , making him smile, She then walked over to Keith and hugged him " thanks for the help" she smiled, but felt his grip increase " I didn't make it in time..." The girl lightly smacked his arm " hey, none of us expected an attack so quick, don't beat yourself up" she pouted, her facial expression actually made a small smile on his face, next was Allura and coran

" I'm glad your alright crista" Allura smiled " me too!" Coran chimed, after that the group began waiting for lance, who was still sleeping inside a pod within the Sleep Chamber as his team watches, with coran who is at the console

" I can't tell if he looks healthy... or not." Hunk said " I think he's breathing weird." Pidge added while her face was pressed against the glass " can't tell" crista shrugged  "Oh, come on!" keith tried tapping on the pod to open it but Allura stoped him before he could do it "Not yet! A few more ticks." She said "How much better do you think he's gonna get in a few more ticks?" keith asked "And what exactly is a tick?" followed by pidge "You know, a time-slice." allura answered "What, like a second?" shiro questioned "What is a... "second"?" allura asked pidge took out a small clock "Like this."  it started counting in seconds from zero to three "I'm not sure. I think ticks are bigger" allura then turned to coran " Coran, do you have a ticker?" she asked "Right here, Princess." coran takes out a ticker counting ticks, not numbers, just arrows?, pidge kept between her timer and coran so called ticker or altean timer  "I think ticks are a little slower." hunk says, pidge kept looking at both"I can't tell. We have to start them at the same time." She said

"Okay. Ready, go!" Both timers start together, everyone huddles around to watch "Yes! I think we're winning." Hunk cheered "Winning what? The intergalactic time-measuring competition?" Keith asks sarcastically "Yes." Hunk pouts
Unknown to the team, Lances pod opened and he stumbled out and over to the group

"You guys having a clock party?" He asked"Aw, Lance, you just ruined it. Uh-Hey, Lance!" As soon as junk realised he pulled the boy into a hug, he grunted   While the group just smiled "What happened?" He asked, Allura placing a hand on his shoulder "We can tell you all about it while you get something to eat. Are you able to walk?" She asked "Talking? Eating? Are you asking me out on a date?" Lance smirking
Allura just groaned and turned unimpressed, the others didn't turn but they shared the same feeling as her

Pidge: "Yep. There he is."
Shiro: "Yep, he's okay."
Keith: "Classic."

Crista:" typical lance" she smiled sheepishly

Time skip

The team moved to the Dining Hall while Lance ate food goo hunk and crista prepared, he fed one of  the Altean Mice "He'd be Sendak's prisoner right now, if not for Pidge." Allura explained "Well, you wouldn't have survived the explosion if Hunk and Coran hadn't gotten a new Crystal." Pidge said "Wow. Thanks, everybody. Sounds like the mice did more than you, though." Lance looked towards keith "I punched Sendak!" He yelled " Yeah, apparently after I emerged from a coma and shot his arm off." Lance glared "We had a bonding moment. I cradled you in my arms!" Keith exclaimed

"Nope. Don't remember, didn't happen"  lance shook his head " So, what happened to Sendak?" He asked "He's frozen in a cryo-pod. We're keeping him here in the Castle." Allura explained "Are you sure that's a good idea?" Lance asked " yeah for once I'm with lance on this one, that guy gives me the creeps" Christa shivered "He's too dangerous to be set free. Besides, we might be able to get some information about Zarkon from him." Allura said

"So, what's the plan now?" Lance asked "We have to get back to the Balmera and save Shay and her people." Hunk said  "Wow! You are really hung up on this lady." Lance says, hunk with a serious face said "No, it's not like that. Look, guys, when you see how Zarkon has treated these people and destroyed their home-They've been under his thumb for so long, they don't even know what it is to be free. It's up to us to set this right. This is what being a Paladin of Voltron is all about. It's time to man up."  Pidge frowned at the part when he said man up, which scruff noticed and nuzzled her head against the paladins cheek to comfort her

"Then let's get moving. Time to go defend the universe." Shiro says, everyone was about  to leave the Dining Hall but pidge Spoke up "Wait, I have something to say first. I need to come clean and... I'm afraid this may change the way you all think about me. Just so there are no secrets between us anymore, I can't "man up". ... I'm a girl." Christa snickered when she saw lances flabbergasted expression "I-I mean, I can "man up" because that's just a figure of speech. I don't have to actually be a man to "man up." I just have to be tough. But what I'm saying-" "Huh-Eh-Wha-?! You're a girl!? HOW!?" Lance exclaimed, cutting her off

"I've known for some time, but I'm glad you've shared it with everyone." Allura smiled "Yeah, I figured." Hunk said "Oh, yeah, me too." Followed by keith " glad you finally admit to the team" Christa smiles "Wait, w-we were supposed to think you were a boy?" Coran "Pidge, owning who you are is going to make you a better Paladin." Shiro smiles, Pidge sighs in relief "It's good to get that off my chest. Now, let's launch this Castleship!" Lance still remains behind and shakes his head in disbelief "Wait, what? Pidge is a girl and the Castle is a ship? How long have I been out?" He asks, Christa just chuckled shaking her head " come on nutcase" she said pulling him along

Time skip

Everyone was now gathered in the bridge "Activate interlock." Allura ordered "Dynotherms connected." Coran said "Mega-thrusters are go." Allura says "We are ready to depart Planet Arus on your mark, Princess." Coran informs "Firing main engines for launch." The Castle of Lions launches from Arus as the Arusians watch

In the Castle of Lions, hunk continued pacing around  the Bridge "Okay. So, when we get there, what do you think? Do we just roll up and like, start blasting? Or do we land and have some... kind of public address system, like, 'Attention, Galras. This is Voltron. Turn yourselves in!'" He the paused and looked around "No. Blasting, right?" He asked

"Hunk," Keith said, "Calm down. And, yes, blasting."Shiro smiled, "Ah it's our first big rescue mission, he's excited."Pidge turned off her screen and leaned backwards, "Excited to see his new girlfriend." She said teasingly while Christa giggles

Hunk was flustered, tripping over his words, "She's not my girlfriend," He denied, "She's just a rock I met and admire very much." His eyes widened when the alarm sounded.

"Coran what's the situation? Are we under attack?" Christa asked surprised

Coran stared at the screen below him, "No, it seems to be a distress beacon."

"Stay aboard and try to get as many of our systems clear of that Galra energy crystal as you can. We'll see who hailed us," Allura said to Coran."Yes, Princess," Coran responded.The other seven of us got into a little pod thing that dropped us from the ship down onto the ground. Once on the ground, we saw a tall purple man with a long hat and goggles, a yellow, female alien with a crop-top and a little robot with ears."You don't know how glad we are to see some friendly faces," the man said. "Most folks don't want to get tangled up with anyone who's on the run from the Galra."

"So, you guys are fighting the Galra?" Keith asked."Well, I don't think Zarkon is exactly quaking in his boots at the three of us, but we do what we can," the man said. "I'm Rolo. This is Nyma, and our cyber-unit, Beezer."

"Hi," Nyma said as lance of course, was drooled over her.

And their little robot made some robotic sounds and Pidge drooled over that."Cool robot!" Pidge yelled."Hi. Name's Lance," Lance said to Nyma, which Christa facepalmed "Was your ship damaged in a fight?" Shiro asked."Yeah, we've really been through it with the Galra. Parts are hard to come by," Rolo explained. "Luckily, we were able to limp to this moon about a week ago. If you didn't pick up our distress signal, I--""We're happy to help," Allura said. "I am Princess Allura of Altea, and from now on, you won't be alone fighting the Galra. You'll have the Paladins of Voltron by your side.""Oh-kay," Rolo simply stated."I don't think they've heard of us," Christa whispered

."It's has been 10,000 years," Keith said."Voltron? Six robot lions that combine into this big robot... guy..." Lance said."Sound impressive. I'd love to see it," Rolo said. "Or him? Them?"

"Why don't we get to work on your ship?" Hunk said. "I'm sure we all have places to be.""Sure," Rolo said as we walked to his ship and he opened up a hatch to show what needed to be fixed. "Pretty much our whole flaxum assembly is shot. I don't know what kind of extra parts you carry in this rig of yours. I've never seen anything quite like it."

"I'm sure we can get you back up and running. Give Hunk a list of what you need. Coran can show you where to find it," Allura said, while In the background, Lance flirts with Nyma. Shiro smacks him in the head while she covers her mouth giggling

"Okay," Hunk quietly responded

"We'll go with you. Don't want you to have to carry all that yourself. Come on, guys."
He tried walking towards the Castle of Lions. Hunk stopped him

"Uh, I don't think so. You can just wait out here." Hunk says stepping in front of him " yeah same here" Christa says raising a hand "Hunk, Christa, don't be rude." Allura said "Yeah, mind your manners. There are ladies present." Lance smirks, then winks at Nyma  "Hey~" shiro just sighs

"Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, but does anyone remember the last time we let our defenses down? Someone kind of set off a bomb. Remember, Lance? You and Christa were almost killed." Hunk reminded. "Oh, yeah..." his face dropped

"Hunk's right. Sorry, but we have to be cautious." Shiro apologies "Hey, I don't take it personal. That's how it is out here. You've got to look out for your own. You're doing a good job, big man." Rolo walked over to beezer, who printed out a list of parts, then hands it to hunk "Yeah. Thanks." To hunk there was something odd about this guy, and apparently he wasn't the only one who thought that

Time skip

Everyone sat next to a fire, the once's sitting next to it were rolo, Allura, shiro, keith and crista, pidge was distracted by beezee while lance was flirting with nyma

talking about his past with the Galra."My planet was destroyed by the Galra and I was taken captive. I managed to escape, but, not before I lost something," Rolo said as he pulled down his left boot and knocked on his robotic leg."I know exactly how that feels," Shiro said looking at his arm

Hunk drags a hovercart full of parts over."Well, I hope there are some parts in here that'll fit."
Rolo didn't seem to respond

."you know, to get your ship moving..."  Hunk yell, to get his attention

"Great! Thanks," Rolo yelled to Hunk."So, what can you tell us about Zarkon's forces?" Allura asked. "Where are they concentrated?"

"Well, his command ship sits right in the center of the Empire," Rolo started. "He mostly calls the shots from there and has his minions do the work, depending on who's closest. This is the territory of a real nasty bugger named Sendak."

"Oh, we've met," Keith said " not a fan..." Christa grumbled

"How far are we from the center?" Shiro asked: "We're way out on the fringes." Rolo answered as Hunk walked over "Hey, sorry to interrupt, but I think you guys are kind of keeping Rolo from working. It's just that we're in a hurry. A hero named Shay saved my life, and I swore I would return to do the same for her and her people. You understand."

"Sure. Sorry." Rolo says, places a hand on hunk's  shoulder and then walks over to the hovercart to inspect the parts.

Christa approaches hunk to whisper quietly "Hunk, we're going to get going soon, as much as I hate to admit it, but I think Rolo might have some information that could be helpful to us." She says

"Not for nothin' but I don't trust this guy as far as I can throw him. I think we ought to leave him with the box parts and just say, 'Adiós, amigo-'"

"Hey, bud!" Rolo yelled to Hunk. "Sorry, but do you think you could hunt down a length of thermal pipe, about 'yay' long?"  He asked, gestures the length with his hands

"On the way," Hunk groans as he walked away

. Rolo, walks up to Christa "So, are there more freedom fighters? Any kind of organized resistance to the Galra?" She asked

"Only folks who haven't been colonized yet, or the lucky few, like us, who managed to escape somehow." He said   "Well, we're going to change all that." Christa says "That's good to hear, but I've got to warn you, it's pretty bad out there. You don't know what you're up against doll." He winks, which She flinched blushing " well um...thank you?" She turns and walks back to the others ' why the does this always happen?!?!?' She panicked in thought

Meanwhile

Lance was talking to NYMA away from the rest of the team "I mean, there are only six of us in the entire universe, so... I guess you could say it's kind of a big deal." He brags

"I don't understand. The Lions are ships? Are they, like, flying statues that you ride on?" She asked "No, no, no. They're magic, but also super scientific and advanced. And they fly crazy fast and have all these incredible weapons. Really, the entire Castle is just insane! I wish you could see it." Lance says

"Yes, it's too bad we're not allowed inside. I would love a tour from one of the knights. But I guess the big one is in charge, huh? You have to obey his orders?" She says as they looked towards hunk carrying parts

"Who, Hunk? Pfft, I don't have to listen to him!" She giggles as he pulls her along, he brings her inside the Castle of Lions to the Bridge, which she gasped "This place is incredible!"

"Yeah, I guess. You get used to it." He brags again "But it's so gigantic. It must take you forever to get to your Lion." Nyma says "Ooh, you'd be surprised." He  brings her with him down the zip-line to the Blue Lion's cockpit

"Pretty slick, right?" While on her lap "Unbelievable! Take me on a ride around the moon?" She asked "Uh-We should probably get back to the others." Lance says

"Yeah, you're right" she says sadly "Maybe Keith or Christa will give me a ride." Immediately lance reacts "No! Whoah, whoah, hold on a second! I mean what's the point of having the Lion if you can't enjoy it, right? Giddy-up, buddy!"Lance activates the Blue Lion and takes off with her

Hunk was working on the damaged ship, but he and Christa witnesses the Blue Lion take off

"Oh, Lance!" He groaned " you've got to be kidding me!" Christa facepalmed "Ah, let them have their fun. Thanks to you, this thing is just about ready, so we're going to be on our way soon. Too many light years on that guy, I guess." Hunk stared suspiciously eyes the part he replaced"Yeah..." He muttered

Lance was flying the Blue Lion around the moon "Look, a kinetic spring! Let's land over there. The minerals reflect off the water, making a rainbow."The Blue Lion flies over the spring, causing water to spray and a rainbow to appear "Wow. Is there anything you don't know?" While he was distracted, nyma presses a button on her bracelet to signal Rolo. He suddenly exits the engine of his ship

"I think this thing is just about ready for a test flight," Rolo said as he hopped out of the ship, closed the hatch and started to run to the cockpit. "Beezer, come co-pilot for me. Back in a tick."The ship then arose off the ground the ground and immediately took off in another direction on the moon.

"Uh..." hunk says as the  spacecraft takes flight with no issues at all

Elsewhere, Lance and Nyma stand at the kinetic spring by a tree "So, ah, you want to see how fast I can climb this tree?" Nyma giggles "Aw, you are cute. Let me show you something. Give me your hand." As soon as lance offers her his hand, she handcuffs him to the tree"Whoa! Uh, this is... kind of..."

Just then rolo's ship appears and abducts the Blue Lion. "Nyma, what's going on?"
"Sorry, Lance. Maybe we'll meet again." NYMA is raised into her ship and it takes off, leaving lance behind. He looks around for his helmet to contact his team and sees it out of reach

"Oh, Quiznak..." he muttered

After while later, Pidge asked:"How many ticks have they been gone?"

"I don't know," Allura answered. "I hope they don't break down, again."

"Something ain't right," Hunk said."Guys! Hello?! Little help!" Everyone heard Lance yell from their helmets."Lance?" Shiro questioned as the group put their helmets on.

"Lance! Are you alright? W-What's going on?"

"Well, I'm kinda chained to a... a tree," Lance said."I knew it!" Hunk yelled."And I think Nyma and Rolo just stole the Blue Lion," Lance added."What do you mean you 'think'?!" Christa asked."I knew it!!" Hunk yelled, again."Where are they?" Shiro asked."Uh, space?" Lance 'answered'."Uh, I never trusted those guys, right from the beginning..." Hunk
Continued to rant as the Paladins head to their Lions

"I mean, y'know, at first, it was just like a feeling in my gut, you know? But when I was replacing that thermal pipe, the pipe was cracked, but none of the hardware around it was damaged."

"Okay, we get it!" Keith  shouted

"I mean, if the thermal pipe is cracked, then, obviously, hello, the entire assembly should be totally roasted." He continued "Okay! We get it." Christa yells but he continues

"We should've had to replace the entire undercarriage of that reactor. So, right then, I was, like, positive. Foul play."
"Okay, we get it!" He was finally cut of by everyone yelling

The remaining Lions chase leave the castle and begin their chase after the lion thief's

As we were closing in on Rolo's ship, he flew it into an asteroid field. We all stopped to figure something out."We'll never get through this asteroid field," Pidge said."Maybe I can just bust through," Hunk said as he flew his lion into an asteroid and it just bounced around. "Nope. That was wrong. That was a bad idea."

"Keith you're the only one who could possibly fly through this," Shiro said. "We need you, buddy. Get in there and flush them out."

"You got it," Keith said. "See you on the other side."Keith then perfectly maneuvered his lion through the field and caught Rolo and his friends in the ship. The rest of us had to go around..."Yeah!" Keith cheered "Haha! Hey, Lance, I got your Lion back." Keith says through the commutators "Thank you, Keith. Now, can you come and unchain me?" Lance sighs in relief "What's that? I, uh... Y-You're cutting out. I can't-I can't hear you." Keith smirked while lances face falls "Oh, come on! I thought we bonded. Keith? Buddy? My man?" Christ covers her mouth giggling

" I'll go get him" she flies and eventually finds him, getting him unstuck

Timeskip

Soon, they flew back to the castle where the crew, Rolo and his ship were waiting

."Since your ship really doesn't work now, you'll have to wait here for a rescue," Keith explained to Rolo and his friends."Thanks, for sparing our lives," Rolo said."Now that these guys are dealt with, let's get to the Balmera and save Shay and her people," Hunk said."You may not believe this," Rolo started. "But I hope you do stop Zarkon. It's a lifetime of fighting the Galra that led me to where I am today."After that, the team left to save the Balmera
