Shusei x OC (Our Two Bedroom Story)

Eve's PoV

It was my two-year marriage anniversary with my beloved husband, Shusei, and I can't be happier! 

"Something like this is nice for a break of the city, right?" Shusei says as he wraps his arms around my waist. The traditional Japanese shrine with a beautiful front yard in front of me is astonishing.

"You booked this?" I ask in amazement as I carefully walk on the pebbles that form the path across the garden. A stream ran around the shrine, making a small bamboo bridge stand out.

"Yup. Might as well enjoy our long weekend away from the city and some fresh air." He slides open the shrine door, "it will only be the two of us here."

'A-Alone?' My heart pounded despite being alone with him all the time at home, I slepped in.

The smell of fresh bamboo and water filled my nostrils as I took in the spacious place. 

Just then, heavy pieces of cloth were thrown on my head. 

"Eh?" I take it down, it was a [Favorite Pattern] patterned kimono.

"Change into that after you take a bath, I'll use the other one." Shusei says, patting my hair, before disappearing down a hall.

'That was fast.'  I thought as I turned on the bath. One would think someone like Shusei will wiggle his eyebrows and suggest to bathe together for longer than necessary.

I shook my head and forced a blush down, he's probably being considerate and all. 

After a nice, long bath, I change into the kimono that suits me perfectly and head out to the veranda. 

There sat Shusei, in his own kimono and a blue fan in his left hand. 

"Eve! C'mere! I got some food!" With his other hand, he picked up some on a stick. (media)

I broke into a grin at his enthusiastic behavior and sat down next to him eagerly. I opened my mouth and he stuffed it in.

"Tis ish delishioush!" I say at my best while still chewing.

Shusei chuckled, then looked up at the full moon that night, "how're you liking this place so far?"

"I love it already, can't wait to chill for the next two days!" I say as I move closer to him, he wraps his arm around my shoulders right away and sets my head on his shoulder. I snuggle comfortably on his shoulder.

"Too bad there aren't any video games here." 

"Mm-hmm, too bad I can't beat you."

"You will get better, in the next year, and the year after that, and so on, until we're eighty." He kisses the top of my head, causing me to giggle at his words. It warms my heart up knowing Shusei's intention for those words.

"Let's eat!"

When it started to get cold into the night, I went back inside while he said he stayed to clean up. 

"There's only one futon...?" I murmur to myself in the dim light, a large futon laid in the middle of the tatami, obviously intended for more than one person. 

"Why is it so dark in here, anyways?" I peer around to try to find some sort of light.

Just then, the sound of the slide door being closed was heard.

"Shusei?" I call out when I make out his faint figure. Suddenly, the lights slowly turn on.

I face Shusei, who had a gentle and loving smile on his face as he glanced behind me. Is there something--

I turned around, the instant I did my hands flew to my mouth in surprise and touch.

There were two large bouquets of the reddest roses I've ever seen shaped to hearts on the wall.

He slid his arms around my waist and set his head on top of mine, "Do you like it? The one on the left has ninety-nine roses, and the one on the right has a hundred and one roses. You know what that means?"

I twisted around in his arms and buried my face in his chest, I return his embrace and softly shook my head.

Shusei gently rises my chin and plants a lingering peck on my lips, "'I'll love you till the day I die.'"

Then, he sets me down on the futon and caresses my burning cheek, "'You are my one and only.'"

Slowly, he left nine kisses on my lips, then looks at me passionately in the eyes, "And, 'Together as long as we live.'"
