Shinra x Kitsune!Reader

She's so cute. Shinra thought as he laid on the ground and peeked out behind the wall stalker-style towards the living room, where you were playing shogi with Miyabi.

Your eyebrows furrowed together slightly in concentration, which causes your fox ears to twitch once in a while in frustration when something doesn't go as you planned.

"Oh ho ho, what do we have here?" Kyoga's sudden voice beside Shinra startles him, he sits up with a scowl on his face.

"A stalker-in-training?" Kyoga asked with a chuckle.

"Tch, none of your business." The oni says with a huff and stomps back into his room down the hallway of the shrine.

Kyoga glances back at Shinra's red ears, then looks to the living room.

"Why...! Why!?" You banged your head on the table when he won again.

"I'm just stronger than you, little sis." Miyabi gently bumps you on the head with his fist.

"But eight times in a row is just ridiculous! Nope, I wanna rematch." You flip back up, alive, and reset the pieces.

"Hmph, bring it on, shorty."

Kyoga watched in silence as you lost again and again but persisted to keep trying.

"Ah ha, I know what Shinra was doing now." He grinned to himself in realization.

"Shin-chan!" You shouted as you ran towards Shinra.

(I'm sorry I had to XD You can't deny my inner knb-ness!!!)

"[First Name]? Aren't you supposed to be training right now?" he replies with a question but internally spreads with joy that you approached him.

You made a face and your ears flapped mischievously, "I snuck out while Onii-chan was being full of himself."

"No surprise there."

You laughed, "True. So what're you doing? I heard some thunder."

You knew of his goal to succeed his clan, and admire him for the way he trains every day.

(I forgot the exact abilities Shinra had, so imma make stuff up ok)

"Hey, hey, watch this. Can you make some lightning?" You ask with a grin, obviously having something in mind.

Thinking how bad could it possibly be, Shinra held up his palm created a streak of lightning.

"More, and bigger." You said, he did as told. The flashing streaks of lightning danced around his palm like white lights.

You held up a finger and inched closer to them. Before Shinra could warn you that you could get hurt by touching it, you already emitted a dash of your kitsunebi. The blue flame swished around the streaks of lightning before joining them; creating dashes of beautiful sky-blue colored lights.

"Wow...." Shinra widened his eyes in awe as he hasn't heard about this trick before.

While he was busy examining the blue lights, your heart rate sped up by a mile. This trick isn't only for show, the flames and lights that combine represents partnership; in ways more than friends.

You wanted to see if you were truly meant for each other, or were you just crushing as a girl. You have been told that if the two were star-crossed lovers, the flame and lightning will burst apart and vanish; but that didn't happen just now.

What happened was a beautiful creation of blue lightning.

But how could you possibly tell him that?

"Pretty, right? My grandmother taught me it a long time ago." You smiled.

"Beautiful." Like you. He responded with a childish grin that you loved.

Shinra still couldn't take his eye off of the lightning—still in his hand—for a while until Miyabi came running, looking for you.

"Where did she run off to...?" he murmurs. Then, stops in his tracks when he sees what Shinra was so entranced in.

"(Y/N)? What're you—"

Before you could block it, he saw it. Of course he knew what it meant. But cross-breed as an ayakashi is strictly forbidden.

"...It can't be that bad if the trick was ever discovered." Miyabi mumbled to himself and to you. While Shinra was confused, you jumped up and hugged your brother around the neck, and whispered, "thank you."

"Hm." He hummed in response, but you can tell he's trying to say he's happy for you.

"What're you talking about?"

"That aside," Miyabi pointed a finger at Shinra, completely ignoring his confusion, "I will burn you alive if you ever make her cry."

"Ha? You—"

"Arigatogozaimasu, onii-chan! You can go now!" You pushed him back into the shrine before he could say anything else.

"One would think how could twins be so different, right?"

"Kyoga-kun! Get outta here!" You flushed slightly red at being interrupted again by the wolf demon chilling on the roof.

"Alright, alright. Geesh kids these days, no respect for their elders," he joked as he looked at Shinra, "by the way, that lightning fire thing is basically a test to see if a Kitsune and an Oni are compatible."

"KYOGA!" By the time you nearly burst into flames—literally—the wolf demon already slipped away.

You sighed as you turned around to face Shinra again, only to find him a blushing mess.

You always knew he blushed easily, but his face was red until the tips of his ears.

"You...you—you knew...but.... Why did you do that—" the flames in his palm was sparkling now due to his stuttering. The lightning got larger and brighter as if following the same growth pace as his heart beat.

If it grew larger, people around are gonna notice the flashing in the middle of a perfectly sunny day.

"Hey, hey, calm down!" You stepped towards him, but it only made it worse.

"Ugh." You groaned with a small smile as you hooked your arms around his burning neck and brought his head down.

His temperature slowly decreased as you moved your lips against his lovingly.

"I like you a lot...Shinra." You planted a last peck on his lips before pulling back and looked into his eyes for his answer.

The gentlest smile you've ever seen floated upon his lips as the lightning in his hand finally flew up and bursted into a sparkling blue firework, as if sealing the moment.

You looked at it in astonishment before returning your gaze on the guy you love in front of you. He rested his hand on the side of your cheek softly and said,

"I love you, (Y/N)."
