Meguru x Reader (10 Days with my Devil)

Ever since Meguru has discovered his new power of teleportation, he's been officially on the job and getting busier. Sometimes he gets home even later than you do.

"How was your day?" You ask as the both of you were alone in his room. You massaged his shoulders as he seems really stressed.

"I don't understand.... I never used teleportation again after the duel that day." He looks up at you with sad, puppy eyes. His appearance may matured a lot, but on the inside, he will always be that Meguru you fell in love with.

"No matter how I train, I can't seem to activate that power again." He looked at his hands, then balled it into a fist, "I'm letting everybody down...."

You put a hand over his, making him calm down, "I don't know much about demons' abilities, but I do know it's bad for you to be so distressed. Maybe you should have a day off to clear your mind and fresh your spirit."

He paused for a moment, then laced his fingers through yours. He turned around and gave you a peck on the lips, "you're right, [First Name], thanks for cheering me up."

"N-No problem." The feeling of his lips still lingering on yours, you smiled nervously until he left the room to make necessary arrangements for a day off.

He's also gotten bolder.... You took a deep breath and calm your heart. The old Meguru wouldn't just kiss you out of nowhere like that. Sometimes you notice these small changes in him.

On his next day off, you went to the spacious park by the large river nearby.

You laid comfortably star-fish style on the bamboo raft as Meguru rowed. The blue sky and green scenery melted away his anxiety for now.

When you arrived at the lake the river ends in, he set the stick aside and sat down next to your head.

"The air is so nice here." You opened one eye to peer up to your boyfriend, you nearly choked on a nosebleed.

The sun shined in his sparkly silver hair, and the breeze combed through his soft strands. He then closed his dark grey eyes and enjoyed the sunlight shining on his flawless face.

He looked mature, yet relaxed.

You could feel the tension slip out of him as he laid down beside you. He really needed this break.

You couldn't take your eyes off of him until he flipped onto his side to face you, his arm supporting his head, he opened his eyes and looked at you with a knowing smile, "you've been staring for a while, [First Name]-chan."

"Excuse me!" You immediately direct your gaze back to the blue sky. You hear him chuckle deeply. Geez, he's learned to tease too.

"I'm just kidding." He says, you feel his presence coming closer.

Panicking, you sat up abruptly and your gaze landed on the picnic basket you brought with you. As if finding your saving star, you started to reach out to it, "Um! Are you hungry? There're some [favorite food] and coke cans here! Or do you prefer iced water? I also have [favorite drink]!"

He laughed. He held his stomach as melodic laughter left his mouth. "Now you're the tense one here."

Right. You thought to yourself. Why am I so panicky today? Probably because it was your first date with Meguru after his change.

Very soon, you were laughing together. You turned back to him, "You're right, I don't know what got into me."

"Are you nervous?"

The very next second, he pulled you to him, making you sit facing him on his lap.

"No...why would I—"

A wave passing by on the surface of the lake shook the raft, bringing your faces closer together. Your mind instantly went blank.

"Today's perfect. Thank you, [first name]."

"Yes, yes. What would you ever do without me?" You joked and smiled at him.

"I will continue to try harder than my best for my job, so I can bring you happiness."

That unexpected line sent you off to lalaland again.

He looks into your eyes as his left hand brought your head closer to his.

"I love you."
