O N E
Violet Uley knew if she got caught it was her ass that was going to jail. It's not like she really cared though, she needed about 30 more bucks until she could buy those black boots she had seen at the mall the other day and she was determined to have them in her manicured hand by tomorrow.
So maybe she wasn't exactly 21 and maybe she didn't even have a fake ID to prove otherwise, who cares right? She needed a bit extra money and bartending underage for a few hours wasn't going to kill anyone. Well, maybe she would get killed at the hands of Sam but ehh... she could give less of a shit in the moment.
"Mint Mojito," the tan brunette said happily, lifting the alcohol filled glass onto the black countertop and smiling at her customer.
The girl with slightly bloodshot eyes and damp hair smirked at her, taking a sip of the drink. Violet watched her cautiously, searching for a sign of disgust as she was hoping the women would give her a hefty tip and hopefully come back for more if it was good enough.
Through the darkened room, and flashing lights the blonde partygoer smirked at her, eyes brightening just a tad. She hummed in happiness, pulling out her wallet and handing the bartender money.
"Violet is it?" She yelled over the loud music, leaning into the bar so her gold necklace briefly scratched against the countertop.
Said brunette went from calculating her tip to smiling once more, noticing the way her satisfied customer eyes jumped from the black name tag on her top to her eyes.
"Vi!" The bartender corrected, resisting the urge to roll her eyes when her full name was called out. She absolutely hated her real name, it always reminded her of her parents and they were a chapter in her life she cared not too open.
"Vi," the women nodded. "Aren't you a little young to be bartending?"
Violet fought the stiffen, keeping cool in the moment and laughed, "shouldn't you be at home studying for Mr. Wents finals Charlotte?"
Charlotte having known she was caught smirked at the younger girl, lifting her glass in acceptance," see you in Sociology Vi!"
Violet smiling as the girl retreated and even full out grinning when she noticed the 10 extra dollars in her hand.
There was 3 hours left before the club would shut down for the night and she was shy just 20 dollars. It was time for Vi to pull out all the stops.
"Randy! You mind if I dance on the table a little bit!"

So maybe Violet Uley wasn't in desperate need of money, maybe she was just putting herself at risk for material things but there wasn't much else left to do and she was quite frankly bored. There was nothing in Seattle for her, as much as she hated to admit it, her whole life was back in La Push. There was no tending to wolves or dodging Jake every few seconds, no Emily to keep her company and make her pancakes every morning. There was none of that.
She had no one, and she supposed that was the biggest trade off to moving here. Still, she would rather have no one then to be constantly on guard. She hated the stress and paranoia that came with being the alphas little sister, hated the way his friends looked at her like she would randomly turn out to be their imprint. Hated how Jake would stare at her with sorry eyes and an open mouth that never uttered a single phrase even though his eyes said it all. She fucking hated it all and no matter how much she secretly missed her older brothers warm hugs of comfort and Emily's words of wisdom she could no longer be in La Push.
Of course she hadn't uprooted from one moment to another and left with nothing but a suitcase full of dreams, no, this had been planned by Sam for a long time. He paid for her small apartment near the university campus, he checked up on her twice a day and sent Emily to visit every month. Sam and Vi were still very much inseparable even if there was thousands of miles between them.
She might have missed her family like crazy but she sure did love her freedom.
Violet Uley pulled her thick grey jackets closer to her body, securing the black beanie on her head before walking towards the bodyguard at the door.
"Ms. Uley," Howard the bodyguard spoke up, smiling brightly at her. He looked menacing enough, towering over the petite girl in both width and length but he was actually a giant goofball.
"Hey Howie!" Vi smiled at him, stiffing a yawn that rose from that.
"You need a cab or are you walking home tonight Vi?" He asked her, pulling the double doors open and letting in the cool Washington air.
Vi thought back to her hefty tip money in her pocket and nodded, "cab please!"
Howie smirked back at the young adult, turning around and calling forward one of the yellow cabs waiting to pick up drunk idiots or tired workers.
"Have a safe night Vi!" Howie said to her as he held the door open for the girl to sprint into.
She nodded, "see you tomorrow Howie!"
He shut the door behind her, walking back into the club shortly after.
"Hendrix street please!" Vis' shivering voice called out to the driver who only nodded in response and drove down the darkening Seattle streets. Her fingers fumbling around to grab her phone and once again look at the 80 dollars in her purse, she just might have too invest in a fake ID if bartending paid so well.
"Kind of late for you to be out," the cab drivers voice slightly startled her. The money she was pulling out to give him dropping in her hand as she composed herself.
"Kind of young to be a cab driver," the brunette retorted. What was this guy? A cop? She was technically the legal age to be out, just not at a club but this guy needs to mind his own business.
The diver didn't turn his head, she sensed him smiling as the next words tumbled out of his mouth. "I'm guessing it's been a long week?"
Violet took her time to answer, confused as to why the guy spoke to her. Cab drivers never usually did unless it was to charge or ask them which way. This guy was slightly odd.
"Yeah," she said after her pause, pursing her lips and trying to catch his face. She could only see her profile, which was a pale face, handsome features, and a goofy smile.
Briefly her mind wandered why someone so hot was driving lousy people around when he could be modeling but she chose not to question. Instead, she went back to her bag and picking out 10 dollars, her cold fingers grasping the money.
If there was anything she wished she had gained from the supernatural it would have been the warmth wolves had, although the traits she did inherit came in handy.
"Just trying to make conversation Darling," he murmured to her. The grin that seemed to be permanent on his face did not disappear. It was beginning to make Violet wary.
She sensed that he was lying, taking a deep breath and inhaling the scents around her. One of the traits she did inherit form wolves was their sense of smell and she was particularly good at emotions.
An emotion wasn't what she picked up though, it was a sickly sweet smell mixed with blood that would have spiked her heart rate if she weren't so good under pressure. He most likely hadn't smelled the wolf on her considering she rarely smelled like it now. Plus she had been around humans all night and their scent tended to wear off.
Calmly coming up with a plan in her head she looked around and pretended to gasp.
"Shit! Do me a favor and drop me off at this corner," she said, clutching her cell phone in hand. "I forgot to grab dog food and I'm already out!"
"It's kind of late..." the driver spoke up.
"No worries," Violet stated, throwing a 20 in the front seat as she grabbed for the handle and hopped out. She forced a smile at the driver and began power walking.
She could hear the tired drive off as she lifted her phone and speed dialed her brother.
"Vi?"
His sleep coated voice was clear as he answered on the first ring.
"Sam," she quickly answered. "There's a vampire after me. I—"
But that's all she managed to say as the phone was ripped from her hands and she was turned to look at the pale face of her cab driver. Her cell phone was flung across the street, smashing into pieces upon contact with the nearest wall.
"Violet Uley," He stated, the grin still plastered over his face as he gazed at the young girl. "You're a hard girl to find."
Violet struggled for words, knowing things were about to get violent. She had never necessarily been in a fight with a vampire, sure she knew how to kill one and possessed the necessary strength but she had a strong feeling this wasn't going to go in her favor.
"What the fuck do you want?" She questioned, releasing the strength she possessed.
"It's not what I want Violet. It's what my friend wants. She wants lots of vengeance, starting with you."
A part of her knew that Sam was well on his way, along with the pack, but she also knew that La Push was thousands of miles away from Seattle and she was going to need a strategy here.
"It's not Violet, it's Vi motherfucker."
And she was off, running at full speed through the streets of Seattle. The girl was fast, as fast as a normal wolf, which meant that being caught by a vampire was nearly impossible. She also knew that running through the forest of Washington was not going to be easy and she would most likely need to stop soon.
Within 5 minutes she was deep into the woods and running towards the salty and familiar air of La Push.
And she hoped she would make it.

Her breathing was ragged, lungs enveloped by flames and legs tightening with weakness. Every ounce of her being pleading with her to stop and break, she wanted too so badly. She was ready to drop the the ground and gave into whatever fate would be given to her at the hands of those vampires. However there was a much stronger piece in her that projected her body further with a grit of her teeth. Her blood was boiling, anger flowing through her. This was suppose to be her opportunity to start over and never look back but here she was yet against running back to Sam and the pack. It was pitiful.
It wasn't long until she was near and smelling not a La Push scent but another vampire, this time it was the Cullens.
Fucking perfect, she thought. They were the last ones she needed to see and quite frankly with all the shit she had been through, if they weren't careful she might just tear them to shreds.
She wasn't suppose to be on their territory but it it's not like she planned to stay for long, her clothes were a mess and she was freezing her ass off. Violet was on her way home and definitely not in the mood for pit stops.
Life sometimes didn't go just as she planned, and Violet knew this extremely well considering all the shit she had gone through so when a body slammed into her she wishes she could have said she was surprised. The body was strong and sturdy, a full blown bulldozer as it hit and threw her. The brunette slid across the forest, landing on her feet and skidding across the ground as her back smacked against the nearest tree.
A lock of chocolate brown hair fall across her face and touched her dried lips as she sucked in the winters cold air and growled. She couldn't see who it was but she knew it was a Cullen. Violet couldn't say she had ever actually met one, having kept too herself when they had been in Forks and then leaving too Seattle before their return. They however protected one girl she loathed beyond belief, Bella Swan.
Violet stopped running, deciding she needed a real ease to her frustrations and went to race forward and attack the vampire when a giant, russet colored wolf jumped in front of her. It growled, baring its teeth at the biggest Cullen.
Violets shoulders dropped, another form of anger taking over. "Jake what the fuck are you doing here. Get out!"
The last thing she definitely wanted was a Cullen interruption but the very end of her would be the day her ex boyfriend saved her from a bloodsucker.
The vampire zoomed closer, 3 other members of the Cullens joining him as he leaned against one of the tall trees.
"Emmett, you should have waited," Carlisle disapprovingly said to one of his sons.
Emmett however was barely listening to him as he watched the small, olive skinned brunette with a fiery temper attack the much larger wolf. She was angry, beyond words, a war looming in her eyes as she screamed to the wolf to leave. Emmett watched her, watching as her crazed hair stood out and around her like a goddamn crown as she continued to yell. Her pale, pink lips parting in the most seductive way as her eyes filled with even more fire. Her arms flapping around and revealing a tanned stomach that had a daring piercing in the center.
The wolf didn't move however, not even when she kicked it in the gut and walked around it, instead it took a step closer to her which Emmett found infuriated him. Especially when he growled at said vampire with rage.
The blonde vampire known as Jasper began smirking, noting the emotions overtaking Emmett as she stepped closer. His gift giving him the ability to know how Emmett had found his mate and Edward was less then excited to see who it was.
"What the hell!" Violet yelled, bunching her fists up when she looked at every vampire. She felt like she could take them all on, red consuming her vision. Her gaze not once centering around one of them.
Sam chose this moment to show up, having paused just long enough to change into pants. He ran straight for his little sister, "Violet!"
Emmett heard her name, letting it sink into everyone of his pore as an entirely new emotion took over her face. He watched as she sighed in relief, letting the tenseness drop from her shoulders as she wrapped her arms around Sam.
Sam wrapped his arm protectively around her and murmured comforting things as the girl clutched onto him like her life depended on it.
Emmett suddenly realized that something had happened and she had been running from someone.
"Is everything alright?" Carlisle spoke up, curiously looking at the young Uley. He had never seen her before, no one supernatural have seen the brown eyed girl besides the wolves.
"I'll tell you what's happening!" Violet turned around, momentarily forgetting she was safe and just determined to beat someone up." Your fucking guard dog over here—"
The words caught in her throat and her eyes widening, a piece of her world tilting on its axis as she laid eyes on Emmett Cullen who held an almost identical look.
"—Well shit..." Violet said aloud, her doe eyes widening even further as she stared at him. It had happened and she had feared this ever happening. She could feel a tether linking both of them, her breathing going into tune with his and if it were possible, her heartbeat matching his.
She had imprinted on Emmett Cullen.
