All it took was a twig snap for Vi to realize she had fucked up.

Violet jumped when Embry's paws moved slightly, her golden brown eyes flickering immediately to his feet. He was taking a step back, as was the entire pack except Sam. Even if he was morphed into a werewolf and he was covered with fur she could see how his face turned angrily, betrayal and hurt setting off.

It felt like they had punched her clear in the gut, like the wind had been knocked out of her or one of her lungs had collapsed on her heart. The sensation was beyond painful. She wanted to cry and scream, beg Sam for forgiveness. It wasn't her fault, it was the imprint. They had forced this situation upon her. She didn't know how to explain to Sam, she didn't know where to even start. This was definitely not the way she wanted to tell him.

Not in front of her whole pack and certainly not the way it had occurred. Her bottom lips began to tremble, the words escaping her soft lips without a sound as she ran the situation through her head. This was exactly what she didn't want, it had all gone to hell. As if there wasn't enough problems in her life.

Emmett from beside her hadn't taken his eyes off the marvelous girl. He kept replaying the last few moments in his head, remembering how she hadn't wasted a second to fight for him. It had started out with him protecting her at all costs, having smelled her delicious scent within a few moments of there passing. Alice had warned them that Victoria would be coming but he had no idea that she would the bait. It was an instinctual feeling to forget the red head and jump straight for the brunette. He hadn't cared in that moment when Jake had ripped him off her and ready to take him on once more, all that mattered was her safety.

One moment his arm was stitching itself back together, the pale, concrete like skin coming back together and then he was being blocked by the firstly brunette. He had watched as her small palms had wrapped around the monstrous wolf and thrown him without care. Her facial expression was fearless when he had caught a glimpse, dark brown eyes filled with an intensity it might have even shook him.

Now he stared at her, knowing she was crumbling on the inside. He wasn't happy they had found out like this, even if it did feel like a relief, she was hurting and Emmett couldn't stand it. When he held her hand, touching his cool skin to her much warmer one, Violet felt slightly better. Emmett knew she did by the instant grip she gave him hand. However, that's when she started to realize just what had happened.

Violets knees began to give in, her heart hammering right into her throat, not knowing exactly what to do. She was terrified to go home, if it even was her home now. There was no way the wolves would accept her now, they would think she was with their worst enemy.

If she was correct, and she assumed so considering the silence surrounding them all, it meant Vi had lost her entire family. Even her older brother.

Emmett took the initiative, wanting to take her away from the pain. He might not have known her for long but the pull to save her, like she did him, was strong. He wrapped an arm around her waist, Vi's eyes looking up at him.

Honey colored eyes met dark chocolate ones, ones filled with worry for the chaotic eyes that stared right back. They didn't say anything to one another but the burly man knew she would rather have left with him then face her family. Violet pleaded with her eyes for Emmett to take her with him, knowing it would just add fuel to the fire but really there was nothing else to do.

He nodded, pursing his pink lips and lifting her in his arms, not trusting his mate to think clearly. Violet wrapped her small fingers around the material of his dark jacket, taking one look at her brother she could only murmur one thing.

"I'm sorry."

They raced off, the forest barely visible to her eyes as they quickly went off. Violet kept her eyes shut, forcing down the tears threatening to escape.

A few moment later dozens of wolf howls broke into the night and all she could do was dig her face into Emmett's chest and tune it out.

"What? I don't understand, why can't you come home? What happened?"

Emily's concerned questions shot out like wildfire as she continued to speak to her sister in law. She had been told the bare minimum of the situation, only knowing that Violet would not be showing up for dinner and it was unknown when exactly she would go back. That was enough though for her maternal instincts to shine through into the multiple questions she asked.

Violet ran a hand through her thick brown locks, tipping back and forth on her heels as her elbows rested on the balcony. The cool night breeze gently stroking her warm skin as she pulled at her lips for an answer. This was her nervous habit, and right now she felt like she could bite her bottom lip off cleanly.

"Sam will tell you when he gets home, just please keep him from doing anything stupid. I just need to take some time and find a way to talk to him. I'll call you soon." She answered as honestly as she possibly could. The brunette felt like a coward, not being able to actually fess up to the problem at hand. She was still in shock herself if she was being honest. A part of her still felt like it was a dream but the very reality was everywhere she looked. Everything she touched and smelled indicated that indeed it was real and she was staying with what use too be her worst enemy. Now, it seemed like this was the only place she could breathe.

"Yeah okay. Whatever it is Violet I will still love you and so will Sam. I love you, come home soon."

"I will try. I love you." Violet ended the call, holding back another round of tears as she realized Emily might not actually want to ever talk to her after finding out. Her chest tightened but she managed to keep a steady voice as the conversation ended and the call went dead.

The new phone she had just gotten in the past week was tightly gripped between her fingers and on the verge of being crushed. The Cullen residence was beautifully built, every piece modern and perfectly placed. She had only dreamed of a place like this as a child. A quaint, grand house that felt like home but a fortress at the same time. It was ironic considering all the time she had spent hating bloodsuckers, here she was seeking help from them.

"Your going to break your phone if you keep holding it like that darling," Emmett's deep voice rumbled from inside the small room. Since they had arrived he had ran her straight to the room with a single bed and dark furniture, the grey sheets atop the bedroom had been her previous glooming spot. The bear like man having left her there to collect her thoughts while he nervously paced around downstairs for any type of solution. Everyone else had kept there distance, mainly talking amongst themselves but never asking Emmett a question directly. He was sort of irritated that Edward wasn't there, the bronze haired man could have given him a clue what to do.

They hadn't heard a sound from her up until recently, that had somehow calmed Emmett down in hearing her voice. While she had made her call Emmett had taken it upon himself to make her as welcome as possible.

Violet turned around, pursing her lips as she saw Emmett all the way at the entrance, he was carrying a set of clothes. His face remained neutral although she could tell that's far from what he felt like.

"You don't have to stand there, this is your room, I can smell it. Come in," she murmured, immediately dropping her strong grip and tucking her phone into her pocket.

"I'm only here to make sure your okay. Alice found some pajamas for you, I think I might have found a phone charger that fits your phone. There's more blankets if you get cold tonight and the tv is hidden but I can open it if you'd like. I can go get you food if you want... I don't suppose fresh deer is your thing though," Emmett rambled, staring at the perfect artwork that stood on the balcony. He just couldn't believe that she was in his room, her soft smell mixing with his own. Emmett was making a mess of himself trying to help the perfectly damaged girl.

Violet couldn't help the smile that stretched across her lips, her perfect lips gloriously extending for a smile that could knock Emmett off his feet. He wanted to so badly get across the room and hold her tightly in his arms, blocking away everything that tainted her perfect soul. Instead, he distracted himself by walking to the bed and setting the sheets stop it.

Violet carefully walked over towards the bed, lifting the silk pajamas in her hands to see if they were the right fit. The black shorts reached the middle of her thigh, a small design of lace at the bottom of them, they weren't tight enough to be uncomfortable but wouldn't hang loosely either. The black button down t-shirt also matching perfectly with the shorts. All in all it seemed so much more flattering then Violets usual black shorts and batman t-shirt. "Wow, she knew my exact size too, thanks for these."

"Yeah, she's pretty good at that. I guess I'll let you get changed and sleep or watch tv... I'm downstairs if you need me," he answers her back. The large man turning towards the door where he would probably pace the rest of the night and listen to her move around.

"Polar bear!" Violet quickly halted him, using her nickname for him. Emmett turned with such a force it might have created a dent on the floor. She was holding the clothes in her hand and staring at him with a tired gaze. "Would you mind sticking around here and talking to me, I need something to tune out the howls."

She murmured the last part with a small sadness, Emmett understanding immediately what she meant. He shut the bedroom door, sticking his hands inside his pockets and standing still as he questioned. "Listen, I know this is probably the dumbest question ever and you can call me out for being an idiot but are you alright?"

Violet ran her pink tongues long her bottom lip and putting away her nervous habit, unknowingly enchanting Emmett who already couldn't contain himself. She however went on to pace slowly, dropping the slick pajamas and raising both arms to her hair. She pushed gently at the loose strands touching her delicate features.

"You know what, I don't really give a shit right now. I want to feel like everything will be alright, like this won't affect anyone and I can go home to my brother. I want to know that everyone will be okay with this, I want to accept this. It's never that easy with me, certainly not in this lifetime. Instead you get stuck with a half wolf who's about as damaged as they come, sorry about that by the way. While I have to somehow figure this whole thing out," she murmured with a defeated sigh, exhaling deeply at the end of her sentence. Turning back to him her shoulders slumped, pink lips turning downwards," sorry I sound like a lunatic. In short, I kind of would rather not think about it."

He nodded, gathering all the words she and thrown out. A small smirk fought its way to his face, realizing she might be even more insane then he had thought, which was okay. He needed a little adventure in his life, and that's exactly what she brought.

"So if you don't want to think about that then what do you want to do?" He asked, Violets mind going blank when he asked.

There was only one thing that Violet wanted in that moment, the weight of her responsibilities attempting to stop her. However, she was definitely not going home anytime soon, that was definite. So she turned around, not at all self conscious of her next couple of words.

"Do you know where the nearest gas station is?"

"Drop it like its hot, hot," Violet sang to herself as she strolled down the endless aisles of junk food. So far she had an armful of unhealthy snacks, a mixture of chips and candy clogging her right arm.

"I know I'm the last person that should be saying this but this doesn't seem like real food?" Emmett murmured behind her, catching the bag of peanuts she threw into the air for him to catch. His arms weren't as full as her, but what he had seen and smelled didn't seem that appealing.

"You're right, you're the last person that should be talking about food. You have some bunny fur between your teeth still," Violet shot back, annoyed that her imprint had interrogated the singing, she turned into another corner and out of Emmett's sight. They had arrived ten minutes ago to a small, local gas station and since then she had taken to grabbing everything in sight.

Violet refusing to run in the cold and instead opting to take Emmett's grand jeep. It was just like her imprint, unnecessarily huge in every way, Emmett having a good laugh watching her get a running start in it. Violet had chosen to jump out of the window instead of meeting the rest of the Cullens. She wasn't ready for that and as rude as it may have seemed she wasn't quite prepped for the entire vampire clan.

"Are you going to finish all of this?" He questioned, taking a step forward when she reached the counter and looking over the giant pile. The clerk was somewhere in the back, having not come out yet.

Violet nodded, her eyes hungrily trailing over it all," oh yeah, by tomorrow it should be at least half way done."

"Esme was planning on going to get you actual food but it seems you have a different definition on it?" He mumbled lowly, noting how she had quit paying attention to him.

Her hands quickly reaching into every pocket before a frown fell on her face. "Fucking hell, I didn't bring my money. I could have sworn I left it in this jacket."

"I was going to pay for it anyways," Emmett had already had his debit card ready, pulling it out of his pocket.

"Im not going to let you pay for me. I'm already staying at you house," Vi shook her head, unknowingly placing her small palm over his pale one and pushing it downwards. Emmett's chest tightening for a swift moment at her action.

He saw the wheels turning in her head," you have no money. What the hell are you going to do?"

In response she gave him a mischievous side eyes, a thin smile coming on her lips as she went to pick the food back up. Emmett acted quickly, setting his hands over all the junk food and shaking his head adamantly.

"Oh no!" He whispered harshly. "We are not shop lifting this stuff! Are you crazy!"

"Oh come on," Vi said with a pout. "Live a little."

The irony in her words not missing Emmett's ears, his eyes narrowing at her. She stifled a giggle," oh come on. You know what I mean."

"No!" He growled, thankful that the man behind the counter finally came back to the front. The cashier eyeing them weirdly as he noted the giant man practically laying atop all the food and the pouting brunette who had her arms crossed.

"You all ready?" He questioned slowly, eyeing them all.

Emmett cleared his throat, looking at the young teenager and nodding his head," yeah we are."

"Fucking polar bear," Violet huffed, turning on her heel and stomping out. The clerk looking even further confused as Emmett could only snicker and hand over his debit card.

"You're not still mad about that right?" Emmett asked as they pulled into the Cullens garage, a variety of cars everywhere. Violets eyes traveling over each of them as she continued to munch on her chips and not answer. Emmett held back a smile and looked at her, "oh come on."

"You couldn't just let me take the things!" She mumbled with a roll of her eyes. She pushed open the rather large jeep door. Jumping out and her anger further boiling when she noted all of her food bags were being held by Emmett.

"It was against the law," Emmett pointed out. Watching as she stomped towards the door leading inside the house unknowingly.

"You're a vampire polar bear! You're against the law of nature!" She shot back, opening the door to the living room. As she shot the angry accusation at him her gaze shifted back to where she had entered, eyes widening when she saw the entire Cullen clan was standing around with a variety of smirks all on her. Emmett walking up right behind her frozen, deer-caught-in-headlights look, grinning like a mad idiot.

"Violet Uley, my darling , let me introduce you to my family."
