"Again!" Emmett growled, quickly lifting himself from the ground as Jasper smirked from beside him.
Alice giggled, Vi watching on with a raised eyebrow as her smile broke out. She loved seeing Emmett be his usual goofball self, he was like a grown child and that would never change. As of late however his expression and been much more serious and concerned, the looming threat of war having hardened his natural features but in this moment he seemed to have relaxed.
"He really hates to lose doesn't he?" Violet questions Alice, leaning against the small girl causally as she watched on her boyfriend get angrier as yet again he lost.
The petite vampire nodded in response. "That's why we tend to bench him whenever we play games, he takes things to seriously."
"I can tell," Vi nodded with a raised brow as Emmett once again got taken straight to the ground, getting up angrily like a child. She almost snorted a laugh when he stomped his foot.
Emmett looked over at her in that moment, narrowing her eyes when he could tell she was making fun of him. He lifted his arms in the air and yelled, "it's harder then it looks Baby! Come on and try!"
She rolled her eyes and waved him off, noticing Alice's stare. "I wouldn't want to embarrass you in front of your family! How about we save what I can do."
"You know Jasper isn't going to let you sit this one out right? You're apart of this family and he wants us all to be able to defend ourselves?" Alice pointed it once Emmett was distracted.
"You really think Sam's gonna want me fighting a vampire?" Vi countered.
"Like that's ever stopped you before," Alice answered back, Violet shrugging her should a right back, the girl had a point. "When are the wolves showing up?"
"He just needed to make sure the Rez was protected before coming. Emily has a dress fitting in Forks so it works well for everyone. He's got one of the pups following her back, Emily is probably gonna kick his ass for that one... what about Edward and Bella?" Bugs questioned, noticing the lack of human and bronze haired vampire. In the past few hours since the party had ended the couple had disappeared. She assumed Bella was having trouble coping with the looming war which she understood.
Violet didn't blame her, knowing that all night and morning her mind had been cluttered with the same thoughts. She didn't want anyone hurt at her cost, if it were up to her she would go in alone and attack but sadly there was no way that was possible. The wolves and especially Sam wouldn't let her step two feet out of the house if she even attempted it and Emmett would literally tie her to some underground bunker.
"They'll be here soon—" Alice began explaining until the engine to Edwards Volvo announced itself.
The girls watched as the petite human stepped out, walking over to the duo with a small smile across her lips.
"Hey guys," her soft voice spoke, her eyes quickly liking over to see Emmett and Jasper sparring while the Cullen parents were speaking to Edward. "Where are the wolves?"
"I smell them now," Vi answered her, Alice nodding her head although her nose twitched slightly in disgust. Violet smirked at the vampire in amusement, clearly she still wasn't use too their tough smell. "Here they come."
The Cullens all seemed to notice in that very moment, Jasper and Emmett ceasing to play full throw one another: they walked over towards where the girls stood.
"The Violet Uley Calvary has arrived," Emmett teased his girlfriend, wrapping an arm around her waist before bringing her into large form.
Jasper laughed beside him, setting his arm over Alice's shoulders while Vi rolled her eyes playfully at the big bear.
"I take that's as an insult Em, you know I can protect myself." Vi scoffed, watching as one by one the wolves emerged from the trees.
"Like they'd ever give you the actual chance to even try," Emmett countered.
Vi didn't answer, choosing to instead look over the wolves. She knew who everyone of them was, it wasn't that hard. Besides the smell should just see it in their wolf shaped faces. Sam's was the most familiar, she could even see the serious lol on his expression.
"They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms?" Edward looked over to Violet, questioning their chosen form.
"Jake. Jake doesn't trust you," Vi clarified, her eyes casting on the dark brown colored wolf who had his eyes solely on Bella. "Sam doesn't give a shit as long as they are here and you all behave but since Jake seems to think it's a democracy he decided it would be safer for them to come like this. Sam didn't give a shit as long as they all came."
"They came. That's what matters." The always diplomatic Carlisle looked at Violet who nodded at him while he sent her a gentle smile. He looked over towards Edward then. "Will you translate?"
"Vi," Edward immediately spoke to the half wolf. Her brown eyes quickly darted over towards him, they had very rarely had a civil conversation and two in a row had to be a miracle. She didn't particularly have a problem with him but he was just too serious for her liking. "Sam wants you over on his side."
"Sam?" Vi cocked an eyebrow, her eyes narrowing over the wolves. She knew it was a lie, she could just feel it.
"The wolves." Edward corrected himself. "They said you're one of them, so you should be on their side."
Vi rolled her eyes, a growl escaping her lips briefly. "I'm not a wolf nor am I a vampire, I'm not even fucking human so I can stand wherever I want to."
"Vi, they came to make sure you stay alive. Just go be with them. As much as it irritates me just do it so we can get this over with." Emmett spoke to his girlfriend, her head turning to look up at him as he spoke. His golden eyes hardened when he looked at the wolves for a split second before they were back on her almond shaped ones. His gaze softening and kissing her forehead gently, releasing his hold over her.
She sighed, knowing it was better she just made the stubborn wolves happy for once. She would have a chance to chew their asses out lately. "Fine, I feel like a fucking toy being fought over."
Quickly her black leggings moved towards the other side where she climbed onto the rock between the wolves and near Sam. As she plopped down she sensed their warm bodies crept closer until most of them touched her and they all surrounded her.
"What the fuck am I, the security blanket?" Vi questioned out loud, noticing how immediately they all relaxed and set their heads against the ground.
Sam was the only one who actually looked at her, fixing his large form so he could lay her head against his body. He rolled his eyes at her once.
Emmett and the rest of the Cullens almost wanted to laugh in amusement, he had been right after all. Violet Uley was indeed the Wolf Queen and the very image of her being surrounded by each wolf all of which were somehow as close as possible to her made that theory all the more true. She casually placed her elbow against Sam, using it as support for her head as a bored expression took over her features.
"Welcome." Carlisle stepped forward and said hello to the wolves before introducing the blonde vampire. "Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them."
Violet noticed how Sam's head moved from Carlisle to the mind reading vampire. Edwards golden eyes squinted slightly as he received the information before he looked at Carlisle. "They want to know how the 'newborns' is differ from us."
Jasper spoke up, staring at all the wolves confidently. His posture was strong, like he had DOEN this many times before and Vi was intrigued. She hadn't heard many stories of the coven, mainly because she never wanted to sound nosey but she was curious as one could be. "They're a great deal stronger than us, because their own human bloodlingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful... ...than in our first several months of this life. Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army, doesn't need thousands like a human army. And no human army could stand against them. The two most important thingsremember are, first... Never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. The second... Never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that. And you will lose."
Jasper turned, walking to one side of the small training field they had and then looked over to the biggest of the vampires. "Emmett?"
Vi immediately grew worried, she knew Emmett was able to care for himself but this was her boyfriend. As cocky and confident Emmett was she knew he acted first and thought last when fighting, that's all she had witnessed when the boys had been practicing. Jasper gave her a reassuring nod once he had felt her high teens emotions, letting her know that it would all pan out well. "Don't hold back."
Emmett looked once at Vi, noticing how her facial expressions had gone from bored to concerned real fucking fast. A part of him feeling happy that she carded for him so much but he knew he needed to reassure her nothing to bad would happen. So he smirked back to Jasper, rolling his shoulders as he prepared. "Not in my nature."
The vampire ran forward, Jasper barely moving as he merely held his arms out and let Emmett ram him. His feet dragged a few yards, Emmett effortlessly lifting him into the air and throwing him a good few yards. Vi watched as Jasper flawlessly landed, standing back up and not wasting another second as Emmett ran right after him. Emmett attempted to punch him a few time, each Jasper dodging with minimal effort before he ducked under his arm and used his palm to flatten the enormous vampire to the ground.
Jasper looked down at Emmett and commented, "Never lose focus."
Emmett quickly got up, pouting as he had lost and looking over at Vi who gave him a soft smile. She could hear some of the wolves rumble, Jake's the loudest so she narrowed her eyes and looked at them all. "If one of you cheeky bastards is talking shit right now I'll give them a lesson in how to whoop werewolf ass 101."
Sam let out what sounded like half a laugh before everyone went right back to concentrating.
The next duo to fight were Carlisle and Edward who seemed to be having fun at first, the younger boys had a smile on his face the entire time. Jasper watching them quietly from the side as Bella continued to look concerned. Edward eventually managed to throw Carlisle down and he smiled in triumph until Jasper walked by him.
"One more thing." The trainer said, drifting off the moment Carlisle grabbed Edwards ankle and threw him down alongside him. "Never turn your back on your enemy."
Vi snorted a laugh, studying the moves the vampires made and letting them photograph into her mind as she came up with tactics. She knew the wolves weren't participating in any fights, it would probably get to to heated but that didn't mean they would stop her.
"Care to show off those moves you bragged about so much Vi?" Jasper eventually called out towards the half wolf who was anxious to get out there.
Sam huffed, turning his head to look at her and narrow his eyes. She knew he was saying no, she could just tell he was yelling it.
"Don't sit there and tell me no. I'm not a child you dick." She snapped at him. Sighing she calmed down for a second and talked in a more reasonable voice to her protective brother. "Look, I'm who they want. I'm gonna be out there with you guys and it does me no good if I can't learn from the best of the best. I would rather have some prior knowledge, besides, they are my family now too and I know they wouldn't hurt me."
Sam huffed once, stepping aside as the wolves let her go. He clearly wasn't happy with her decision but it was probably a better idea to just give her this then fight with the girl so close to the actually attack.
Vi dropped down from the rock effortlessly, using her hands to tighten her ponytail as she walked over.
"You sure about this?" Jasper asked her, his eyes moving towards the wolves who were now all standing.
Vi looked back at them once, rolling her eyes at their stance and looking back at Jasper. "Relax they know I will personally kick their asses if they think about trying anything. And besides Blondie, between Emmett and I someone's gotta be able to kick your ass."
Jasper pulled his lips into a small, retreating backwards. "Just remember what I told you, tactics."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." She nodded, stepping back and placing one leg in front of the other like a track star. Vi could feel the power surging through her body as she released the survivor inside her. "Cat and mouse game except we are playing Tom and Jerry... Jerry doesn't lose."
"Ready when you are," Jasper called out to her. "Remember, they'll all be coming for you."
Vi shut her eyes, reminding herself that this wasn't an actual game. Sure, this was training and no one was going to get hurt but she needed to prove herself. Jasper was right, they were all coming for her which meant she need to be far more aware of her surroundings. Her job wasn't to fight, it was to survive and if there was anytime to prove herself it was now.
She opened her eyes, nodding slightly and Jasper didn't waste a second. He sped forward and then out of her sight, Violet using the best of her sense to hear the brush of his clothing behind her. She threw her elbow back, Jasper effortlessly catching it and holding onto it tightly. He flipped her around, throwing her balance off slightly but Violet caught her and lifted her knee to kick him in the gut. It was like kicking concrete but the girl was sturdier then most and she simply held back a scream and grit of her teeth, swinging her arm out to catch him off guard. Jasper expected this, catching it with the opposite hand and using it to maneuver her back and turn her around once more. With her back to him he grabbed her other arm and pressed her arms together.
"Focus Vi, they won't give you a chance to fix this. They will kill you here so get out of this," Jasper commented to the girl, holding her tightly as she struggled to get out.
Violet didn't waste a second, sending her head flying back so his grip would loosen. She didn't waste a second, grabbing his own hand and maneuvering him in the same way he had done to her second late only now she was in control. She sent her knee to his back, Jasper going down.
Violet took a deep breath, wiping off the small amount of sweat that grew on her forehead as she sucked in cold air and held her hand out to Jasper who grabbed it easily.
"Nice one Vi," Jasper nodded.
"Yeah well I'll be fucking damned if some baby vamp is the cause of my death," Violet nodded.

"Where the hell did you learn those moves?" Emmett questioned Violet after their training was over. Most of the wolves had disappeared and she had assumed Sam had gone back to pick Emily back up.
"Charlie's Angels, those women kicked a lot of ass and looked hot doing it." She answered, leaning into him as her legs felt tired. She couldn't believe she had actually done so much exercise, it'd been so long since she had actually done something like that. She needed a nap soon.
"How about we get you home, get you a nice bath, and then you can sleep until dinner?" Emmett asked her, carrying most of her weight as he noticed her eyes wanting to drift close.
Violet happily nodded, knowing all she wanted to do was wear one of Emmett's comfortable sweaters and hopefully get as much sleep as necessary. He was going to go hunting soon with the rest of his family and she would have to go back back to the reservation... Vi knew it was vital they went hunting before the battle but it didn't mean she wouldn't miss her polar bear.
"Hold on," Vi paused, burrowing her brows as Sam came over the small hill where the wolves had disappeared. He had on his old basketball shorts with a loose white top. "Sam?"
Vi arms dropped from Emmett as she walked near her brother. Why was he here? Seeing Sam this close to the vampires residence was rare, and in his human form was even rarer. This was something big.
"Vi," Sam spoke to his sister rather awkwardly. His expression kept flickering between her petite form and the vampire standing yards back watching in curiosity. "I... think it's time we met."
Violets eyes almost bulged, she blinked rapidly at her brother in pure shock at his words. He didn't ask much about her relationship, Sam understood there was no way to stop them from being together but she chose to ignore the problem so to speak. Violet didn't mind much, sure she wished they would at the very least speak more then 2 syllables to once another but she wouldn't push anything.
A smile broke out onto her, leaning into hug her older brother tightly. This was her way of saying thank you, she knew Sam wasn't much for emotions but he tried and once in awhile he would surprise her. One of those moments being now. She grabbed his wrist, Sam willingly letting his little sister tug him further across the werewolves borderline until he was standing in vampire territory.
Emmett was staring intrigued at what was occurring. He didn't know quite how to feel about what was happening or even if he wanted to meet Sam but one look at Violets grin and he would do anything she wanted. His face was void of emotion as she came nearest, her hands clutching tightly at her brothers arm as she all but dragged him.
"Be nice," Violet murmured under her breath just as they neared Emmett and Sam retracted his arm gently from her hold.
The Cullens stared oddly at the exchange, Jake not far behind and even giving a confused stare at the group.
Violet pursed her lips as neither men said a thing, just nodded at one another. She rolled her eyes, standing between them at her smaller height and sighing, "alright then since neither of you have manners. Emmett this is my brother Samuel and Samuel this is my boyfriend Emmett. Now can we cut the macho act?"
Emmett couldn't help the small smile that fell upon his lips once his eyes casted downwards to the olive skinned girl. He couldn't help himself, just looking at her gave him a metaphorical warmth that for a small snippet of a second it felt like his heart could actually beat rapidly. His darkening eyes stayed on her for a moment longer, long enough to have Sam feeling like deja vu. He knew that look like the back of his hand, in fact, he felt it every single day. Sam realized for the first time that Emmett and Violet were not a situation he would be able to avoid. Emmett loved his sister more than life itself, a trait that he could admire in the vampire. For once he felt it necessary to get along with his mortal enemy because Emmett would give his life up for his baby sister.
Sam looked back to see the Cullens staring, and he sensed his whole pack behind him as well. He knew this would be a defining moment, one which would be written down for history and potentially told as a legend years after they are all gone.
"So this battle... it's gonna be dangerous." Sam spoke up, for once speaking directly to Emmett Cullen.
Emmett's eyes stared right back at the man, nodding his head. "It's gonna be tough one."
"And she's gonna be directly in the middle." Sam continues the tense conversation.
"I'm not gonna let anything happen to her," Emmett answers, his gaze briefly moving to her for a split second.
"Good. I'm protecting my own blood," Sam stated, his eyes also casting Violets clueless expression.
"They won't be able to touch her." Emmett nodded.
"I would hope so." Sam spoke up, the air between them going silent.
Violet held her breath, waiting for any type of sign they might give her. One of which would explain to her if everything was alright. Emmett was the first to break, lifting his palm up as sort of a peace treaty. Something only between the Cullen boy and the Uley.
Vi watched with pursed lips as Sam lifted his own plan up and shook the vampires hand. Emmett's serious facial expression not once shifting as he spoke. "She's gonna live through this if I have to die for it."
And Violet finally understood this was their way of saving her, helping her. Their plan to keep her alive.
"I hope you two realize I'm not going to sit like some floating fish. I'm gonna kick some vampire ass if I have to kick both you asses at the same time."
