Two

To put things lightly, outside the hotel that Gaara stayed at was mayhem. That was not the only thing that was mayhem, the internet was mayhem too. Gaara's departure was not a well concealed secret and word got out that he had broken up with Borami so reporters and fans flocked the hotel premises.

Media houses were trying to get a news scoop out of him and to Gaara's chagrin, they were blocking his exit from the hotel. It was a good thing that his PA was with him. The poor man had managed to free himself from the evil grasp of reporters without being recognised when he came in but that was also why he was perplexed.

Reporters and fans were notorious for their rowdiness and besides, this plan would never work!

"I am putting my trust in you, Ranmaru." Gaara spoke as he helped the boy who was barely over nineteen years old apply kohl around his eyes. "Don't worry about unemployment, I have talked Temari about you and she has promised to find you a job." He said to assure the indigo haired or rather red haired young adult.

Ranmaru was wearing a red wig and dark clothes like Gaara usually preferred along with his signature kohl make up that girls loved. The other man wore a brown wig and frames over his eyes. He was in a used school uniform that was brought to him by Ranmaru early that morning for disguise.

"Other people would not be as nice as Gaara-san though." Ranmaru complained, his red eyes pleading to allow Gaara take him along. Not even he knew where Gaara was leaving for and he was supposed to be the PA.

"Nonsense." Gaara finished applying the eye liner. "You'd be better off without me, and besides you still have to study here in Konoha. I'll be leaving for a long period this time so you can't follow me." Ranmaru scrunched up his nose at that. He was a part time student at a local university and he hated that Gaara was right.

"Alright." Ranmaru fumbled with his dark clothes. The fans were most likely the most dangerous set of people down there. Without security guards, the scratches and bruises they could inflict on celebrities were not something to sniff at.

"You'll be fine." Gaara assured as if hearing his thoughts.

The elevator dinged and the doors slid open. Ranmaru gulped. He had to buy time for his former employer so he could afford no mistakes. Clutching the keys to Gaara's car (which was now his because Gaara gifted it), Ranmaru started walking across the hotel lobby to drop the keys of Gaara's room and check out on his behalf.

As expected, a reporter noticed him when he was heading for the parking lot under the hotel building. It was a race between Ranmaru and the reporters at the elevator which the disguised man won but the reporters were not letting up. The others got news that 'Gaara' was trying to escape by car so they were on the lookout at the parking lot's entrance.

The real Gaara escaped through the now vacated front doors of the hotel to a uber that was waiting for his arrival. His disguise as a student dismissed all suspicions except those curious ones wondering what an highschooler was doing in an hotel.

A good ways away from the hotel, he called Ranmaru to inform him that the plan was successful and that was when Ranmaru dropped his disguise. The reporters and fan base realized belatedly that they had been tricked.

Once in the safety of a plane to his home country, Gaara heaved a sigh and removed the wig and spectacles. He had stripped off of the school uniform shirt in the ride here so he didn't bother about the plaid trousers he wore.

The three days journey to Suna was tiring but it was good to be back in his homeland. Unlike Konoha, Suna was all about sand and windmills and the weather was hot but it had its own beauty. A poorly designed placard with his name in his language on it attracted Gaara's attention to the brunet holding it.

A smile, his first in years, reached his lips at the sight of his brother waving the placard around. "Gaara!" Gaara walked over to him. He got no warning before he was engulfed in a hug. An oof escaped his mouth as Kankuro's pats bordered on becoming painful. "That's what you get for not calling."

"I'm sorry." Gaara apologized but Kankuro was quick to dismiss it.

"Don't be." He assisted Gaara with his bags and they both walked to the luxurious car parked in waiting for them. "I watched your drama. It was hilarious and your role suited you well." Kankuro opened the conversation.

"I don't really want to talk about that right now." Gaara said. The last thing he wanted was to be reminded of Tenten and Neji throughout his trip.

"I know, Temari told me." Gaara almost felt betrayed but they were siblings after all. "So, how was your first high?" Kankuro teased.

"She told you that too?!" Gaara chuckled softly at himself as he thought back to his intoxicated moment. "I was stupid. Never doing that again." He replied.

"Good. I swore never to do drugs when I spent hours searching for my phone with my phone's flashlight in the freezer." Gaara shot him a look. "Don't ask. I also remember trying to cut water coming from a tap into two with a pair of scissors and robbing a sex store."

The driver snorted at the last one along with Gaara who scoffed in amusement. Kankuro's teenage days were rather eventful. They finally got to Kankuro's penthouse where Temari was waiting for them.

"Gaara! It has been a while!" Temari suffocated her brother in a hug and also delivered a hit to Gaara's arm. "That's for not calling."

"Sorry." Gaara apologised softly.

"Heh! I prepared your favorite salted tongue and gizzards! Come, come." Temari ushered him into the place while Kankuro had a solemn look on his face.

"I pray for your taste buds Gaara, that they shall not die after eating Temari's dishes. Amen."

"Aah?! My cooking has improved a lot since I last cooked!" Temari yelled indignantly. Despite her proclamation, Gaara was somewhat hesitant to taste the food. It smelled nice so it had to be good, right?

Temari was a lousy cook. Technically, all of them were since they had maids doing their chores for them so none of them bothered to learn how to cook. When Temari clocked nineteen, for some reason she started learning and Kankuro and Gaara were (unfortunate babies) her test monkeys. It was not a good experience.

"Wah! It's actually good!" Kankuro exclaimed after taking a bite and discovering that he didn't drop unconscious. "That Shikamaru person is good for you, sis!"

"It is delicious, nee-san." Gaara complimented.

Temari had a smug look on her face. "I told you that you needn't worry about death when you eat my meals anymore." The family of three enjoyed their meal and caught up with the times they missed.

Meanwhile in a small media company...

"Thank you man, I owe you one." The room echoed with the sound of a beep which signified the end of a call. This was interesting news...now who to investigate it? The only person that was less busy was, "FUU!"

"OSU!" Fuu jumped out of her seat with a start. She was a reporter working for the Hidden Waterfall Media. It was a small media house unlike its competitors so there were only three reporters which included Fuu.

The woman was a very enthusiastic person with a personality that made her perfect for a TV host. Fuu made her way to the CEO's office and did a salute. Used to her antics, Fuu's boss rolled his eyes and broke down the news instead.

"You know how it is speculated that Gaara has left for overseas? It turns out that he is in my hometown in Sunagakure."

"Nani?! How did you know?!" Fuu asked in amazement.

"My brother just called. He sighted our target with his older brother at Suna. My thoughts is that he is in the Sabakus family mansion. The place is said to be deserted ever since the Sabaku siblings' parents died which was over eight years ago. I would like you...!" Fuu interrupted the man.

"I would investigate and if possible try to interview him, su!"

Her boss looked at her dryly. "This is a huge scoop for us Fuu. Getting a news or most preferably an interview about his disappearance would mean lots and lots of money for us and development for our company. You cannot fail this." The man spoke slowly as if talking to a child.

"You can count on me, su!" Fuu saluted and proceeded out of the room to prepare for her journey to Suna. Her boss prepared a lodging place for her which she was thankful for so after packing up and ensuring that her trusted camera was with her, she set off for Sunagakure.

'Gaara, here I come!'

Osu! Welcome to the second chapter of Void!

I was initially torn between Matsuri and Fuu for this story but I ended up choosing Fuu and besides, I kinda ship Matsuri with Kankuro. He he.

Completely unrelated question:

Who do you think Shinki's real parents are? I mean he has the Kazekage bloodline in him (sand) and he has green eyes like Temari and brown hair like Kankuro. I would honestly not be surprised if he were Kankuro's son but that's not plausible.

Boruto has a lot of explaining to do. Who the hell is Metal Lee's mother?! Is it Tenten? Is Tenten even married?! I think not because I've never seen her with anyone. Why are Iruka and Kakashi still single?! Why is Shino single (and miserable)?! Is Kashin Koji really Jiraiya's clone or not?!

SOMEBODY ANSWER ME!

QOTC: Of all Naruto quirks and catch phrases, which one have you found yourself saying or doing?

Me: I almost developed Deidara's verbal tic at a point in time but recently, it's the infamous Uchiha 'hn' I do. It's efficient when I don't want to talk but want to show that I'm listening. I've also tried once or twice to Naruto run (is there a Naruto fan that hasn't tried this??) and I find myself weaving hand signs in public.

I do not own Naruto.
