Interview with aquariusdreamer

dragonwritesthings: Hi there! Tell our readers a little bit about yourself and what you do on Wattpad. :)

aquariusdreamer: hello i'm aquariusdreamer and my work is mainly poetry based my writing makes people think about the positive aspects of their life and helping people care about themselves and the people around them ,, my aim is to help them think more optimistically (( and i also like to read other poets work and give them a little positive comment about their work ))

dragonwritesthings:  Awesome! How long have you been writing, and what do you think sparked that interest for you?

aquariusdreamer: hmmmm ,, i started this account around september 2019 and have been consistently writing ever since !! i have always been a lover of creative writing and poetry especially because i feel like poems can really connect with people like nothing else ,, this really appealed to me because with the distant world we live in ,, a few words of positivity can really make a difference and it's unbelievable how true that is !!

dragonwritesthings: That's so true! What are the hardest parts about writing for you?

aquariusdreamer: sometimes when i write i can find myself reminiscing about my personal life and the connections that i have ,, one of my poems " toothbrush " from " ageing ... " holds a very special place to me and i always attach my emotions to that certain poem ,, it holds a place it my heart ... so i guess the hardest part is the emotions that i connect with the poems i write

dragonwritesthings: What's the best feedback on your writing you've gotten?

aquariusdreamer: based off awards ,, my book " breathe ; " received the honourable mention at the RUBY awards 2020 ( 4 th place overall ) ,, however in terms of people truly connecting with my work i have received many comments about how people have made many interpretations about my poetry and used this as a sort of personal attachment to my work ,, it really brings a smile to my face that so many people have emotionally and personally connected with what i write !! (( sorry for the very long answer ahah ))

dragonwritesthings:  Is there anything you find particularly challenging while writing?

aquariusdreamer: hmmm ... i always try to focus on the positive aspects of writing to ensure my readers feel enlightened and almost a boost in their morale upon finishing a chapter however sometimes it can be quite easy to slip down the route of negatively thinking and reminiscing upon negative experiences and using those in your work so if i had to choose i would say thinking negatively

dragonwritesthings: I think that's true of a lot of writers, honestly—and for me too. How do you cope when you're having trouble that way?

aquariusdreamer: usually i like to take my mind of things and solely focus on the poem i am working on ... i also think going out into the open and just getting a breath of fresh air can really wake you up and make you feel not just happier but creative and a boost of encouragement to continue the poem (( however due to circumstances at the moment i wouldn't advise going outside unless it is necessary ))

dragonwritesthings: That definitely helps, I find solely focusing on my writing to be kind of a challenge and fresh air definitely helps. What do you see writing more as, a hobby or a passion?

aquariusdreamer: i would see it as both as it is something that i find quite enjoyable yet at the same time i do it quite often to relieve my mind off what is happening in the world in all honesty it acts as a sort of awakening and makes me feel a lot happier and i think it definitely improves me in various ways ,, however on the split side i don't write because i can write i write because i want to write and i have as described a passion for writing it is more than just a few simple words on a page it's an enlightening for me as a poet / author and the readers themselves

dragonwritesthings: Do you hope to be a published author someday? Or do you see writing more as a hobby? If so, what pathway do you think you'd take towards getting published, and do you have any plans for that?

aquariusdreamer: i would love to be a published author however i do not know how i would do that as of yet but that's something i want to pursue in the future yes

dragonwritesthings: Have you ever incorporated something that happened to you in real life into your work?

aquariusdreamer: yes ,, i am not heavily focusing my real life situations into poetry however sometimes a various amount of factors can play a part in the final result of a poem ,, contrasting this most of my work is typically separated from my poetry as i do not want my work to be affected by what goes on around me ; but to summarise yes i do on occasion

dragonwritesthings: I can definitely understand wanting to separate writing and personal experience on occasion. Do you have any advice you'd like to give your younger self?

aquariusdreamer: now this is a really tricky one ,, however after lots of thought i would tell my younger self to always look up and stop thinking negatively even if times are very rough just think of how it will be in the future when all these problems will have gone ,, the things that you have stressed over will hopefully never happen again and if they do you know you can block it out and focus on the positivity that you can create yourself

dragonwritesthings: That's really good advice! It's been so much fun talking to you, and thanks for coming :)
