Chapt. 7 ~ Singing

Third Person Perspective
~ • ~

After a while of hanging out with Charlie, (Y/n) went back to her room. She didn't feel much better. She sang songs Charlie liked but not ones that'll help her feel better, even though most were happy and cheerful.

You liked to sing sad songs when you upset. It reminded you that you'll never be the only one suffering and it really helps you cope. Just as your lips parted to sing, there was a knock at the door, but you didn't hear as you had already started singing.

"If I could... begin to be, half of what you think of me... I could do about anything, I could even learn how to love~" You had closed your eyes and played with your hair, not hearing the squeak of your door opening.

"When I see... the way you act, wondering when I'm coming back, I could do about anything... I could even learn how to love~ like you~" She took in a breath, not noticing the bed sink beside her. "Love like you~"

"I always thought I might be bad, now I'm sure that it's true... cause I think you're so good and I'm nothing like you, look at you go I just adore you I wish that I knew... what makes... you think I'm so special~..." (Y/n) suddenly flinched harshly when she heard a knock on the door.

She sighed before getting up and going to the door. When she opened it, there standing was Angel.

"Hey babe whatcha up to?" He asked, leaning in the door frame. You put on my show smile.

"Oh nothing much! Just messing around with my vocals!" (Y/n) sort of lie. I mean, you were singing.

"Oh cool. Mind if I hang and listen?" You shrug, not particularly caring.

"Sure. What song would you like to hear?" You ask, smiling at him.

"What's that one song you were singing with Charlie?" He asked, thinking.

"Which one? Did it go— fllyyyyy~ me to the moon~ and let me play~ among the stars~ or oooo~ girl you're shining~ like a fifth avenue diamond~"

"No it more went like— I'm a sunflower~ something like that." He shrugged. "You never finished it."

(Y/n) blushed with embarrassment. That song. You only didn't finish it because Charlie seemed like she was in such a good mood.

"I didn't because it's a bit of a sad song."

"Go ahead and sing it! I wanna hear it!"

"Oh ok!" You huff with a smile and think of the lyrics. "Rose girls in glass vases~ perfect bodies~ perfect faces~ they all belong in magazines~"

He listened, noting why it was a sad song.

"Those girls the boys are chasing~ winning all the games they're playing~ they're always in a different league~"

He sighed, resting his cheek on his fist.

"Stretching toward the sky like I don't care~, wishing you could see me standing there~"

(Y/n) didn't realize Angel didn't close the door and some of the gang were listening in.

"But I'm a sunflower... a little funny~ If I we're a rose~ maybe you'd want me... If I could, I'd change over night~ I'd turn into something you'd like~"

"I can see why you didn't want to sing that in front of Charlie. How bout you sing something more upbeat!" He suggested. You shrugged.

"I can't really think of anything upbeat right now." You admit, smiling slightly.

"Hm. How about we go get a drink?" He asked, (Y/n) smirked.

"Do I have to pay for yours again?" You ask, teasingly, though you really didn't mind.

"Only if I can't get some sucker to pay for me~" (Y/n) laughed, you felt calmer now. "Well then~ get ready~ meet my at the front desk~" You nodded and he left.

You went ahead and got ready.

"See! She's fine!" Angel said with some relief in his voice.

"She doesn't seem like it, I wonder what's wrong..." Charlie said, worry lacing her voice.

Angel just tried to ignore it. He couldn't much imagine Ms. Sweets sad. He didn't want to admit it, but he was pretty worried too. From the time that he's known her, she's never been sad...

Or has she?
