Chapt. 5 ~ Breakfast

Third Person Perspective

"Heh... right." Alastor and (Y/n) entered the restaurant and were lead to a seat by a, not so friendly, demon. The demon just tossed the menus at them and left. "Hm."

"So, why are you down here my dear?" Alastor asked, looking over the beverages. (Y/n) tensed. 'Think of something dammit!'

"Uh... drug abuser, I-I took too much of my medication." She lied, but she knew her stutter could be brushed over as her nervous behavior which he seemed to have taken notice of.

However, Alastor knew she was lying. He could tell the difference between nervousness and fear. And she reeked of it.

"Nothing else?" He asked, knowing even that didn't always get people in hell. Otherwise, a few people he knew would've been here.

"I killed someone." That wasn't as much of a lie as it was slanted truth, so that one, Alastor couldn't tell.

"Of course! That's why I'm down here!" He chuckled, (Y/n) found herself smiling at his laugh. Though, she tried to stay focused on the menu.

"So uh... what's good here?" (Y/n) asked with a smile. Alastor was surprised that she didn't freak out or tense.

"I'm not much for food my dear, but they do have some good coffee! Though, my friends have said they make excellent crepes!" He exclaimed with a chuckle.

"Hm... I like crepes, but I think I want (f/f) or (o/f/f)." She looked, trying to see if they even had it. Alastor nodded and watched her.

When she set her menu down again, he decided to speak again.

"So, how long have you been singing? Were you a singer when you were alive?" He decided to ask, since he found that interesting. Maybe he'd do a talk of her on his station.

"No... I wasn't a singer. I was bullied a lot when I was alive so whenever I tried to show talent it was always shunned so, I never sang until I came to hell." (Y/n) explained.

She had set the menu back down on the table, her fist balled and pressed to her cheek. Alastor nodded. "Oh uh! And I've pretty much sang my entire life. Just recently when I got here I actually sang in front of an audience and gave myself a name."

"Interesting, well that's a shame! I'm sure if those bullies saw you now they would praise you!" That made her smile. Alastor liked the way she smiled, but he also enjoyed when she got nervous or scared. Though, he didn't want to scare her off completely with an uncomfortable question.

"That's nice of you, Alastor. But unfortunately, no matter how good you get, people still aren't going to like you." She shook her head and played with her hair. Alastor found himself watching her do that.

"That is true. But at least you're popular." Alastor chuckled as he took his attention away from her hair. (Y/n) laughed.

"Believe it or not, I don't like being popular. Maybe it's because I'm not used to it, but I don't know... I don't like it. Like I get some nice and not so nice stuff, but I miss going out and just being another person. Not all the 'hey you're blah blah blah' or 'oh my gosh I love you' you know... that kind of stuff."

Alastor nodded. He didn't get that type of popularity, but he wasn't jealous. He was happy that she could admit that, and a little surprised. "Most people want to be popular."

"In all honesty, I just wanted to be popular enough that people wouldn't look at me and want me dead. Not that I'm worried about being killed, I'd just rather be liked than hated." She explained, he nodded.

"Well that makes sense. That means less people will want you dead!" Alastor chuckled. (Y/n) nodded.

"Exactly. Anyhow... what do you do for a living?" (Y/n) asked, a certain shine of curiosity in her eyes. Alastor felt a thrill run through him; not knowing if it was her question or that lovely sine in her beautiful (e/c) eyes. He shook his head to regain his focus.

"I, my dear, am a radio host! The top radio host in hell!" He exclaimed, noticing her soft smile widen a little at his action. She loved his attitude, 'so positive.....' she thought.

"Fitting. I guess I can see that kind of from the way you dress, couldn't really tell by the whatcha-ma-call-it" she pointed to her eye, referencing his monocle, making him chuckle. "and your suit, but still fitting."

"Oh dear, I just like to dress nice."

"You also like to smile all the time~" She giggled. Then she thought for a second. "What's with all the pet names?"

"Pet names?" Alastor questioned with a grin. "I'm the animal here."

"I mean like the nicknames! You keep calling me dear, N-Not that I mind! I just- do you even know my name?" Alastor laughed.

"Well of course I do! I thought I've said it, but I guess not! Your name is (Y/n) and it is a beautiful name!" (Y/n) blushed, then scratched the back of her head.

"Th-thanks..." They soon got to order and soon got their orders and just had fun talking and talking.
