~7~

The whole building is in ruins. Corridors collapsed, stains of black are seen through every single spot of the area - corruption.

The culprit proudly stands in the middle of its product. In this case, her product. She looks just like a human. Only humans do not have wings. Humans do not have pure black eyes. And humans would definitely be dead here.

Lillia had just arrived to where the phantom was. That place looked nothing more than a battlefield with unlimited supplies of pure human souls. Souls that would give her twice as much energy than corrupted ones. And these souls are now orbs of light floating around, lost, confused with no place to go.

Lillia: I was thinking of having mercy to save your pitiful soul but seeing things as it is, devouring your soul doesn't even make me feel satisfied.

Phantom: You are...not one of us. Master did not create you.

Lias: Master?

Lillia: I'm far more superior than any of you would ever be. Hell would be a gift for damn souls like you.

Lillia's rage just keeps on increasing. Voices of the orbs are not helping every time they plead Lillia to save them. Lillia can hear them and they know she can.

Phantom: what's wrong? Do you not want to eat them? They're delicious.

The phantom picks up an orb and absorb it in her body as it continues an ominous laughter.

She enjoys it.
Right in front of Lillia.
Where Lillia will not hold back.

A breeze encircled Lillia - a sign that she was getting serious. Dead serious. Her glare turned numbingly sharp even though the colour was red. This red is about to mean blood.

My name is Lillia Kavien. Residing in me is the soul of Noire, Lias.
Spirits of the wind
Spirits of the flame
I ask of you to aid me under the name of Noir.
Ignis Alas

Lillia drew her sword. 2 katanas this time. A Katana is said to show to resolve of its Wielder. The sharper the blade is, the stronger the will and resolve the wielder has. "I'm counting on you". As if the swords were responding, it lit up. With flames shaped like a wing on each sword.

Lillia thrusts forward towards the phantom's wings. Swinging each katana instantaneously in diagonal directions. Severing the phantoms wings and leaving her falling to the floor. Things happened so fast, the phantom barely had time to react and respond that part of their body that they worked so hard to build by killing humans, were chopped off in an instant. Barely a blink of an eye. Blood gushed out from the phantoms back like a bloody waterfall. Black bile blood.

Lillia: creatures like you don't deserve wings to fly.

The phantom howled a piercing cry. The cry reverberated through the cracks of the walls.

Pathetic.

Phantom: AAAAAARRGGHHH! HELP ME!!! IT HURTS! IT HURTS

Lias: this is weird. Something is off.

Lillia:What ever it is, I don't give a damn. This thing have done too much for me to even spare a thought for it.

Phantom was struggling and wriggling in a pool of blood due to the amount of immense pain she was suffering from. When it noticed Lillia strolling towards it with a deafening presence, she tried running away. Away from what she thought was the monster.

Lillia: where are you trying to run? No one would ever save you here. Not even kind hearted souls of humans that you killed.

Lillia swiftly hewed the phantoms legs. The phantom screamed even louder. So much that her voice became hoarse. Tears streaming down and begging for mercy. Pleading whoever it was to stop. But to Lilia, it's as if she was killing a wiggling worm.

Phantom: please..stop..no mo..re pain... It hurts..

Lillia: did you stop when you heard the wails of the humans you killed. Did you even hesitate to stop before killing. How do you feel now? Lucky for you, you don't have anyone waiting for you, do you.

With that, Lillia slit the phantoms neck and the crystal within. The corpse and its blood dissipated into thin air. Not even the speck of blood was left.

Just as Lillia thought she can end this and head back to school, she felt another presence.

Lillia: Who's there?

??? : Oh my oh my. I didn't know how to react when Maas told me to beware of 'Reapers' but now i see.

Lias: Be careful. He is not human nor phantom nor a reaper. I don't sense any souls from him.

Lillia: Identify yourself.

??? : You may call me Dist and yes I know I have very charming facebut please don't need to be hasty Mademoiselle, Reaper of Noire. We'll meet again. Very soon.

With that, Dist vanished into thin air.

Lias: what kind of freak calls himself handsome? Charming at that.

Lillia: one like you. Time to go. I have one more thing to settle.

Lias: I need to discuss something with you later. I need a bit more time to think this through.

Lillia: take your time. This may take awhile

Lias: what you gonna do to all this souls?

Lillia: What else? I devour them.

Lillia repeated "Rest in Peace" each and every time before she absorb each orb. It was the least she could do. Once she finished, she unfolded her wings and headed back to school, to the rooftop. Where she'd meet Leo.

The place was left as it is. Even if she could restore the place, she wouldn't be able to restore the people. It was a better choice to let it be discovered by the media and let it end as a "Mystery" just like every other news that would end up a "Mystery" just because the police nor government could find any leads.
