Song Meaning (My Perspective)

*I think that this represents that the two of them are lonely throughout their entire school days. They are constantly bullied for being weird, a freak and mostly for being an outcast. However, knowing that they can still find compassion or kindness deep inside of them, they never fought back. This continued on for their entire school years and they were on the verge of committing suicide. But they didn't because they need to do something. One of them is to shut their school down. In the end, we see the two evolve. They still believe that they can be kind and they have to be, after all...

If they suddenly stopped showing compassion, who will do the same thing and save them?

It's hard to become kind and compassionate when the people around you are cruel and full of evil. That's why they never fought back. Even though those two wanted to be kind to everyone, they'll eventually 'turn their hearts into stone' which means that they'll stop being kind and resort into violence. That's why they'd like to be saved before that happens.
