Ficlet #2 - Yohioloid & Oliver

Yohio did not close the door behind him. He didn't have to say anything. All the words he could say had already been said and Oliver couldn't comprehend why he said them again.

"Why do you do this?"

Oliver sat silently. Maybe Yohio left the door open because if it was closed, he would've boxed Oliver's ears. His scarlet eyes gave that kind of impression.

"You worked so hard to get it down. You said you understood." Yohio stood over him, tense as anything. "And now you're not going to say a word."

Once again. He had seen this so many times. It was a déjà vu the both of them could explain perfectly.

"I'm sick of saying this. I'm sick of telling you this. Aren't you sick of  hearing it?

Oliver didn't respond. Anything out of his mouth would be labeled an excuse, even if it was honesty in the truest sense of the word. There wasn't a single thought in his head worth wasting air on. Even his own breathing was pushing it.

"You're not going to say anything? You're going to sit there and not say a word?" Yohio exhaled and pressed his hands to his forehead. His eyes were now pleading, wishing. Still angry, though. Always angry. "Aren't you tired of listening to me lecture you? Answer me."

Oliver moved so slowly Yohio could see years of determination and purpose behind his simple nod. He stared at the floor to escape that piercing scarlet gaze.

"Oh." Yohio gave a hollow laugh. "Really? I don't think you are. You listen and say you understand, then you turn right around and keep on doing it."

Oliver didn't know why he said it. Maybe because he was breathing wrong, he might as well do everything else wrong too. Then at least he would be consistent.

"Doing what?" he asked softly.

Yohio began to shake. His entire body, with tremors of anger and frustration and guilt and hostility and endless other unidentifiable emotions directed at this boy, this unbelievably infuriating boy before him.

The definition of insufferable looked up. "Hio—"

"Stop. Right there." Yohio leveled his finger at Oliver's face. "I am going to leave and clean up your mess. Again. So you just sit there and not say a word."

Yohio did not close the door behind him. He left it wide open as a gaping reminder. This is the last time. I will never do anything for you again.
