As Dr. Breezy walked to another part of the building with Vivo in her arms, Vivo expected to see some kind of cage.

However, when she finally said, "Here we are," he was a little surprised.

Actually, he was really surprised.

He wasn't going to stay in a small cage; he was going to stay in a very large enclosure!

It was even large enough to have a few things to keep Vivo entertained.

He would have plenty of room to run and he would be able to climb since there were multiple levels, with climbing structures like branches, ladders, ropes, and a variety of platforms at different heights.

He also saw his bed; a platform filled with soft bedding.

There was even a food and water dish next to it.

His food was a variety of fresh fruit.

It even had more mangoes, his favorite.

Vivo really liked the looks of it.

Dr. Breezy explained, "We do like to make sure all our patients who are staying here are as comfortable as we can make them."

It wasn't a house, but...it was certainly better than sleeping in a small kennel.

And it got even better when the vet said, "Oh, and I do believe your owners left a few things with us to make you extra comfortable."

Vivo saw his friends' goodbye presents next to his sleeping platform.

Dr. Breezy then opened the door to the enclosure and set Vivo down.

"Now, we'll get started with your check-up tomorrow. But for now, you just enjoy what your room has to offer and play as much as you'd like!"

Dr. Breezy then went out of the enclosure and left Vivo alone to get used to his new environment.

At first, he mostly just explored the place to see what he could find.

He thought that while it wasn't exactly 'home', it would probably do for now.

He then remembered he had some other things to make it feel a little more like home.

He went over to his bed and started setting up his friends' gifts.

And for the following days, they were very helpful.

The next day, Day 1, Vivo just went through a full physical exam.

In an examination room, Dr. Breezy was gently checking every part of Vivo's body.

She checked his heart and respiratory rate, temperature, and examined his coat, teeth, and ears.

She also got Vivo's weight and overall growth and development.

It wasn't so bad...

...compared to the next day when Vivo had to get some blood work done.

Vivo was reasonably anxious as Dr. Breezy gently held him down to get a sample.

But Dr. Breezy calmly spoke to him to help keep him calm.

When Vivo finally got pricked, Dr. Breezy gave him a treat for being such a good patient.

Vivo felt better...despite the slight sore spot.

The next two days had similar tests for signs of parasitic infection or digestive problems.

Though on Day 5, Vivo was just observed in his enclosure to check his behavior and eating habits.

That gave him some relief from the past four days.

Though...it wasn't exactly a private day since he noticed some of the vets were watching him.

The following day, he went through some imaging tests, with x-rays and ultrasounds.

They were checking for any abnormal organs, bones, or tissues that the physical might have missed.

The next day was probably the most unsettling.

Vaccination day.

Dr. Breezy had to administer the necessary vaccinations.

Vivo knew they'd only hurt for a second, but they still hurt.

Though it didn't hurt when Dr. Breezy gave him a treat after each shot.

But the next day was a day of relaxation.

Vivo had to recover from the past examinations and treatments.

Of course, he was first bathed and groomed before being left alone in his enclosure.

With that, Vivo just began to enjoy himself with his friends' gifts.

He played around with Roxie's toy while listening to Tiago's music player when he got bored.

After eating his provided fruit salad, he had a couple of Charlotte's cookies for dessert.

When the night came, Vivo snuggled up into Novella's blanket with Vincent's plush.

He also took a sniff at the spoonbills' lilac bouquet to help him fall asleep faster.

Actually...that was how Vivo spent the past few nights after his examinations.

And he always ended the day before sleeping by looking at the group photo Becky took before he came.

It was a reminder that Vivo had friends waiting for him when this was all over, especially his partner.

Day 7 was actually the last day of vet procedures.

Today on Day 9, Dr. Breezy and her coworkers were just conducting a final review of all test results and began preparing a detailed report on Vivo's health.

And as far as they were concerned...everything looked good.

It was finally Day 10.

The extended week at the vet was finally over.

Which meant...it was time for Vivo to go home!

Vivo was already so excited as he packed up all of the things he brought.

Just then, Dr. Breezy came in.

"Vivo...your family's here to pick you up now."

Vivo excitedly ran to her so she would take him to them.

She did so as a vet assistant grabbed his things.

Gabi was anxiously waiting for her partner to be checked out with Rosa.

Just then...

"Look who's here!"

Dr. Breezy walked in with Vivo in her arms.

Gabi was ecstatic, "Vivo!"

Vivo, too, "Gabi!"

He immediately jumped out of the vet's arms and ran straight into Gabi's.

The two embraced in a tight, warm-felt hug.

Dr. Breezy was now just giving the family Vivo's health report.

And to their joy, Vivo was a perfectly happy, healthy honey bear.

After bidding Dr. Breezy goodbye, Gabi and Rosa revealed a surprise.

Gabi said, "Vivo, first off, congrats on your being happy and healthy. Second, we got you something."

Rosa explained, "While you were gone, I had also managed to take care of those other documents needed in order to keep you. In the eyes of the law, you are officially part of the family now. And so to make sure everyone knows it..."

Gabi held up...a new collar and tag.

The collar was a rich, deep purple with a small silver tag.

The tag had Vivo's name and address on it in case he got lost.

Vivo was extremely touched as Gabi put it on under his bandana.

Vivo was now officially a member of the family in the eyes of the law.

And he wouldn't have it any other way.
