44 Arnav's Stand
Part 44 Arnav's stand
Arnav and Khushi started with Baby Khushi towards Kapoor Villa. Fatima was delighted, seeing them together.
"Give me fifteen minutes. I will come, getting fresh" Arnav said to Khushi.
"Yup. I will get Baby ready" Khushi said.
"Are you going to make me ready?" Baby Khushi asked excitedly.
Khushi nodded yes.
"Where is your room?"
"I will take you" Clutching Khushi's hand, Baby Khushi took her to her room.
Arnav looked at Fatima.
"I will shift to somewhere else with Khushi"
Fatima nodded ok.
"As per the real document, all Kapoor's property belongs to Sheetal except for the school. So, I'm handing them to her and will leave this house"
"Then we will also go back to Lucknow," Fatima said.
"But why?"
"We are here not for Sheetal but for you, Arnav bituwa. What will we do after you left the house?"
"What will you do going to the village?"
"We will be helpful to our son in cultivation"
Arnav sighed.
"Would you like to meet Sheetal?"
Fatima nodded no.
"Actually, I'm going to meet her today"
"Is not today her hearing?"
"Yes, her hearing is after 11 o'clock. We got permission to meet her before she is taken to the court"
"Are you taking Baby Khushi with you?"
"No... we will drop her at school"
"You mean, are you taking Khushi with you?"
Arnav nodded yes.
Fatima didn't ask anything regarding after that.
"We already had breakfast at Khushi's house."
Fatima nodded ok.
Arnav came to his room and got ready. On the other side, Khushi was making Baby Khushi ready for the school. Baby Khushi got ready for school willingly like never before. She was so excited and joyful, being with Khushi.
Khushi brought her to the living room, making her ready. Fatima handed the lunch bag to Baby Khushi but Khushi took it from her. They headed to the school. Khushi made Baby Khushi sit on her lap and Baby Khushi liked it very much.
Arnav stopped the car at the entrance of the school.
"Drop her in the class and come," he said.
Khushi nodded ok and went inside with Baby Khushi. She saw Manju coming out of the office, after registering her presence in the biometric device. She smiled at them.
"Manju Bua, Khushi Mummy made me ready for school," Baby Khushi said breathlessly.
Manju looked at Khushi who smiled at her.
"Could you drop Khushi in the class? I and Arnav are going to jail to meet Sheetal"
"Oh... when is her case coming to the court?"
"Today"
"Oh... ok, I will drop her" she clutched Baby Khushi's hand.
"Mummy, are not you coming with me?" she asked.
Before Khushi said anything,
"Don't you want Mummy to be with you forever?" Manju asked.
Baby Khushi nodded yes hurriedly.
"Then, she has to go now. Then only she can be with you"
"Is it?"
Khushi nodded yes.
"Then you go... bye" Pulling her hand from Manju's clutch, she snatched her lunch bag from Khushi and walked towards her classroom, not waiting for Manju.
"I'm leaving," Khushi said.
"Yeah..."
Khushi came out and got inside the car. Arnav started the car and rode on the way to jail.
Junior Roy was waiting for them, finishing the regular formalities.
"We got only fifteen minutes to talk to her"
Arnav nodded ok and walked with Khushi. Roy followed them. Sheetal was brought to the visitor's hall. She got stuck, seeing Arnav with Khushi. No need to say she was irritated. She glared at them.
Arnav gestured for Roy to give it to her. Roy gave her the original copy of the WILL. Sheetal's face glittered like a cat that saw a basket full of fish.
"This is the original WILL of your father, Madam. He registered everything in your name except for the school"
"Then what about the old will?"
"It was not registered one, Madam. This original WILL was with my father. As he promised your father, he had been keeping it secretly"
It was not hard for Sheetal to understand why his father wanted to keep it secret. He would have expected her to accept Arnav as her husband. His father calculated wrong. She would have accepted him as her husband if someone had been in Arnav's place because if anyone had been in his place, he would have tried hard to get her attention... would have tried to coax her... but Arnav never did that. He kept his distance from her, he didn't try to talk to her. Sheetal thought. She looked at Khushi smirking.
"Poor you... you would not have expected this..."
Khushi looked at Arnav who was also in confusion.
"You would have trapped Arnav with the thought of him being a millionaire... but, see, he has nothing... my father registered everything on my name only. I thought many times, how could my father register the properties in a servant's name who didn't even know to coax his wife. I don't know how you are going to live with him. Feel happy you have my daughter for yourself. You can tell the world that she is your daughter because he won't make you mother for sure"
Before Khushi said anything,
"You don't have to worry about our future. We have a very long plan for our future. We had crafted it when we studied in college. She loved me not for my property but for my love. When she started loving me, I didn't even have a penny in my hand at that time. Yet, she loved me because she is not a woman who runs behind money. She knows the value of love. According to her, life is a matter of heart, not a matter of bed"
Sheetal looked at Khushi who was smiling.
"Smile how much you can... who knows, when your smile stops..."
"My smile will last forever because I'm going to marry my Arnav. What did you say? You want me to say Khushi as my daughter, right? Of course, she will be our daughter. Not for the reason you said. It's because we don't want to make her an orphan. You are a heartless woman who didn't even allow your daughter to call you a mother but, I'm not like you. And, for your kind information, Arnav didn't try to coax you... not because he didn't KNOW to coax you... he just didn't WANT to coax you because he could not think of touching anyone other than me. That's what love is. How could a woman like you know that?"
"Hey, hold on... have you forgotten, he betrayed you and married me"
"I agree he married you... but he didn't betray me. If his intention was to betray me, he would have lived a lavishing life without caring about me. But he carried me in his heart throughout the hard journey. He lived in my memories. He named your daughter Khushi and tried to get satisfied with her. I feel bad for Arnav for tolerating a Devil like you in the past years"
"Me? Devil?"
"Yes, you are a devil who has no regret for spoiling other's life. You spoilt not only Arnav's life but also mine and Baby Khushi... you are a beast"
"How dare you...!"
"I dare... more than you do... let's go, Arnav. I don't even want to see this woman..."
Khushi clutched Arnav's hand and started dragging him from the place.
Sheetal looked at Roy.
"I don't know what will you do. I want to come out of this case. Take how much money you want. I just can't be here."
"Sorry, Madam. I have no hope in this case. You can't even get bail, madam"
"but why?"
"Because your boyfriend, Sarath became an approver"
"Whaaaat?" she was shocked.
"Yes, madam. He had already submitted his statement to the police. You got caught red-handed. The police seized nearly ten kilograms of cocaine from your car. Your side is very weak, madam. You will get minimum ten years sentence,"
Sheetal was shocked to the core.
"To tell this only did you study law? Shame on you"
"Excuse me, madam... I didn't study Law to save you from the smuggling case..."
"Smuggling?"
"Yes, that's the case that has been filed on you. If you know a better lawyer who studied law well, please appoint him"
Sheetal became alert. She realized her mistake.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Mr. Roy. I just blabbered in nervousness. Please do something... please"
"I will try" Roy walked off.
In the meanwhile,
Arnav walked with Khushi smiling. They came out of the jail campus.
"Why did you get temper?" he asked.
"How didn't you get temper?"
"Why should I? What right do I have on her? Who is she to me, Khushi? No one... she is no one to me... then why should I take her words into my head?"
"How could you be so patient?" she asked wearily.
"I don't want to spoil my mood thinking about that arrogant woman. After a long time, I just regained my strength. I can't waste it on a useless woman"
Khushi was about to say something, they saw Roy coming.
"I have never seen such an egoistic woman in my life, ASR. How haughty she is...!" Roy fumed.
"She is... We are going to school. Update me on the case status"
Roy nodded ok.
Arnav and Khushi left the place.
To be continued...
