38 Where is Suman?

Part 38 Where was Suman?

The cops surrounded Sheetal's car. That made Sheetal and Sarath shocked from TWO different angles. Sheetal thought the police would arrest her for sending goons to kill Khushi and Suman whereas Sarath feared something else. Sheetal made up herself. Lowering the car window,

"what's the matter, Inspector? Why are you interrupting my way?" she asked gutful.

"You are under arrest because we suspect you in Suman Mathur's missing case"

"Whaaat? Suman is missing? No, Inspector, I did nothing"

"Khushi Gupta filed a complaint against you. You have to come to the police station"

"She is lying... she has an illegal affair with my husband..."

"We know that... your husband was also with her when she filed a complaint and Suman Mathur is missing since yesterday night. We are strongly suspecting you in this"

"How could you suspect me just because he is missing?"

"It's because you sent goons to kill Khushi Gupta and Suman Mathur"

"Why would I kill them?"

"Didn't you say, she has an illegal affair with your husband? And Suman was with them in this. So, you planned to remove them from your path. That's why you killed Suman Mathur"

"No... it's not true"

"You can say anything but not here. Come to the police station"

"I want to talk to my lawyer"

"You will be given a chance to prove your innocence, Madam... now come with us"

"We will come in my car," Sheetal said.

"No... I can't allow it..."

The inspector looked at the constable.

"Check the car..." he ordered.

Sarath's face became pale.

The constable checked the back seat of the car and went to the dicky. He opened it and found a cardboard box in it. Opening it, he saw some packets in it. He tore a packet and smelled it. As it didn't have a smell, he tasted it, keeping it on the tip of his tongue.

"sir... cocaine, sir..." He shouted.

Sheetal became horrified and looked at Sarath who gulped down.

"Cocaine?" Sheetal shivered.

The constable came up with a packet and gave it to the inspector. The inspector also checked it by keeping it on his tongue and confirmed it was cocaine indeed.

"Your husband said you are a drinker but I didn't expect you would be a drug user," the inspector said.

"No, sir... it's not mine" Sheetal yelled.

"Yeah... everyone who is caught red-handed would say like this only"

"Sir, trust me, I don't know how these packets came into my car... Sarath is the one who took my car last evening"

"What? Me? What are you talking about, Sheetal? How could you do this to me?"

Sarath looked at the inspector.

"Sir, I don't know why Sheetal criminates me for something I didn't know anything about. I don't even know she uses drugs. I didn't expect her to be so cheap. I feel ashamed to be a friend of hers" Sarath defended himself, degrading Sheetal which was a big blow to Sheetal. She didn't expect him to do that. She knew the cocaine was somehow related to Sarath because he was the one who used her car last.

"Constable, take them to custody"

"But, why are you arresting me?" Sarath asked.

"Until your innocence is proven, you should also be in our custody"

"Let me call my lawyer," Sheetal said.

"Sorry, madam... this is not only an attempted murder case but also a drug case. This comes under a non-bailable section. We can't allow you to talk to anyone until we surrender you to the court"

The inspector signaled the constables to take them in the jeep. Another constable drove Sheetal's car to the police station.

In the meanwhile,

Arnav was looking at Khushi not disturbing her sleep. She jerked from her sleep when the milkman rang the calling bell. Arnav showed his palm and was about to open the door,

"It must be the milkman..." Khushi said.

"I will get the milk"

"No, he would have dropped the milk pocket in the bag outside. I will take it later"

"Mmm"

"Did Sumi call us?"

Arnav nodded no.

Again the calling bell rang. Arnav looked at Khushi. She came and opened the door. She got stuck, seeing Suman standing with a smile.

"It seems you slept well not caring about me?" He asked teasingly.

In no time, Khushi pulled him in, clutching his hair, and punched him on his back. Arnav also got stuck seeing Suman. He composed himself and pulled Khushi back, saving him from her punches.

"Where the hell were you? Why did you vanish all of a sudden as if you are dead?" she panted hard.

"Where were you Sumi? Don't you know Khushi would be worried not seeing you?" Arnav asked.

"I know Arnav... I was in the necessity to do that"

"What are you talking about?"

"Sheetal and Sarath are arrested a few minutes ago... that's what I was waiting for"

"Yes, Khushi filed a case against her. That's why she should be arrested"

"No... not only for that. She got arrested in a non-bailable section because she had cocaine in her car"

"Whaaaat? Cocaine?" Arnav was shocked.

"Yes, I got to know about Sarath through my company's security guard. His son is working in the hotel paradise. He kept on discussing that with his father it seems. One day, security unintentionally told me about Sarath. But he was not sure about what Sarath was doing. Two days ago, the guard's son found a drug packet in the room in which Sheetal stayed with Sarath. I didn't know how much the matter is certain. I was thinking about how to catch them with proof because they would be cornered only if they come under the radar of the police."

"But you could have informed about the drug deal to the police," Khushi said.

"No, Khushi, if the information went wrong, then the police will not trust any information against them," Arnav said.

"Arnav is right. As I didn't expect, she attacked us the day before yesterday. I know if anything happened to me, you would file a case against Sheetal. If the police took Sarath into their custody, they will start investigating about him. Then the truth will come out anyhow"

"But, you would have told us"

"Talk with logic, Khushi. If you know I'm safe, you would have started romancing Arnav instead of worrying about me..." he said controlling his smile.

Khushi glared at him whereas Arnav rolled his eyes.

"Sorry, baby... I had no choice... how could I let them go freely?"

"What if they had not got arrested? Would you have not come back home?"

"I would have gone to Delhi to meet NK if they had not arrested"

Khushi hit his shoulder, biting her jaws.

"Ok, then, I'm leaving... we are getting late to school," Arnav said smiling.

Khushi nodded ok.

"Will you come today?

"I will come," Khushi said.

Arnav nodded ok and left.

"Why did you do this? What's necessary to get them caught?"

"Don't you really feel it's necessary?"

"What?"

"This is the only way to get Arnav freed from that arrogant woman. He is confused, about how to get rid of the woman because her property is in his name. Now, he will be free without her tension"

"Did you do this for Arnav?"

"For you..."

"Thank you, Sumi"

Khushi hugged him emotionally. She knew Suman did that not only for Arnav but also for HER happy future. Arnav who forgot to take his mobile came back and heard Suman. He also became emotional. He was glad that Khushi got a selfless friend like Suman who cares about her happiness.

"Between friends, no thank you... no sorry... it's a famous saying of yours Salman" Suman smiled.

Khushi nodded yes.

They saw Arnav standing.

"My phone..."

Suman looked for his phone and found it in charge. He removed it and handed it to Arnav.

"Thanks," Arnav said.

Suman nodded slightly and smiled.

Arnav came out and started the car. That was when his phone rang. The call was from his lawyer, Mr. Roy. Arnav attended the call.

"Yes, Mr. Roy?"

"ASR, could you come to my home? It's urgent"

"Anything serious?"

"Yes, my father wants to meet you"

"Ok... will come"

Arnav geared the car up and headed to Roy's house.
