14 Worse ever situation

Part 14 worst ever situation

Khushi came to Manju even though Fatima said she could leave the school with Baby Khushi. Manju saw them,

"Fatima Chachi asked me to drop Khushi at her house," Khushi said.

"Yeah, you can go... Fatima already told me. I will manage here."

"Thank you"

"Are you going to come to my house?" Baby Khushi asked Khushi.

Khushi nodded yes and Baby Khushi hopped in joy.

"Bye, Manju Bua" Baby Khushi waved her hand at Manju.

Manju reciprocated her.

Khushi came out of the campus. Hiring an auto, she got inside it with baby Khushi. Her heart thudded tenfold. She was going to Arnav's house to drop off Arnav's daughter...! She had been in a relationship with the same man for more than three years. How come she got the courage to even think of going to his house? Did she have the guts to see the set-up of his lifestyle with someone? Though she got married to another person the wound given by Arnav was still fresh in her heart. She had no idea how she was going to cope-up with her own self after coming from Arnav's house.

The auto came to a stop. She saw a huge bungalow. Cutting the auto meter, she looked at Baby Khushi.

"Khushi, you go..."

"You too come inside"

"No... I just came to drop you..."

"No no... you have to come to our house..."

Clutching her finger, she pulled Khushi inside.

"Fatima Chachi..." she shouted.

Fatima appeared in front of them.

"Fatima Chachi, the teacher says, she wants to go"

"What? how could you do that? Doesn't Khushi feel dejected?"

"No, I just..."

"Please come in first... we will discuss other things later..."

Khushi hesitated to step inside but Baby Khushi pulled her in. Khushi stood, running her eyes around the house. There was no one at home.

"Please, have a seat," Fatima said and went to the kitchen.

Khushi sat on the sofa, feeling awkward. Fatima came with a cup of coffee and handed it to Khushi.

"Khushi beta, could you do me a favor?" Fatima asked.

"What Chachi?" Baby Khushi asked.

"Could you bring the water jug from Sheetal's room?"

"What if Sheetal comes home? she will scold me" Baby Khushi asked.

"No... she won't come... she said, she would be late"

"Oh... ok" she rushed upstairs.

Khushi was sitting, tapping the cup.

"What are you thinking? Coffee is getting cold" Fatima said.

She drank the coffee slowly.

Baby Khushi came with a water jug and handed it to Fatima.

"Could you bring the jug from Daddy's room too?" Fatima intentionally asked.

Khushi's hand that traveled to her mouth with the cup stopped. she looked at Fatima jerking. Were Sheetal and Arnav living in separate rooms? Was not Arnav staying with his wife? But why? He left her behind only to marry Sheetal. Then why the hell he was staying in a separate room? What the hell was happening in his life? Baby Khushi went to the nearby room that was on the ground floor. Khushi gulped down hard.

"Khushi beta, go and change your dress... go"

"Teacher, I will come, changing my dress. Please don't go" she pleaded.

Khushi nodded ok with a forced smile. Baby Khushi went to her room.

"Shall I ask you something?" Khushi asked and Fatima huffed in relief. This was what she waiting.

"You can ask me anything"

"Why doesn't Khushi call her mother mummy?"

Fatima looked at her with a deep gaze.

"Actually, Khushi asked me something childish today..."

"What did she ask you?"

"She asked me to be her mummy"

"Is it?" Fatima asked with a pang of true sadness.

"Yes, I don't know what to tell her. why doesn't her mother not give heed to her? she is a small kid who had feelings. It seems she is hurt deeply"

"It's a big story... secret story too... but, I can tell you because I don't feel like you are a stranger"

Khushi smiled.

"No child on earth would be like Khushi"

"Why? What happened?"

"No one would believe if the truth comes out... some people think, Khushi is not Sheetal's child"

Khushi nodded yes.

"But the truth is... Khushi is indeed Sheetal's child but her father is not Arnav bituwa"

"Whaaaat?" Khushi almost shouted.

"What did you say?" she asked with disbelief.

Fatima nodded yes. Khushi felt like choking

. Her throat dried instantly.

"Could you... could you please tell me the truth?"

"Arnav bituwa's father died in a communal riot that happened in our village. He was an accountant of Sheetal's father at that time. Arnav's mother was broken down as she had no source of living. Kapoorji offered a job for his mother at his home and took Arnav's education responsibility into his hands. Arnav's mother was a very loyal servant of Kapoor more than I was. Yes, I was also working for Kapoors from the beginning. Ratna was so proud of his son as he studied well. She waited for him to complete his masters."

This was all Khushi knew well. Yet, she listened silently.

"That was when Arnav came home to finish his studies. Arnav was so happy that day. he lifted his mother and rotated in the air." She chuckled painfully.

Flashback

"Amma, I have completed my master's and got a placement too"

"What else other than this do I want?" she put a lump of sugar in his mouth.

"Mom... I want to tell you something... now itself... you know why"

She nodded no.

"Because, as you are happy now, you won't say no to anything I ask for"

"Even though I'm sad I won't say no to whatever you ask for"

"Amma, I...I'm in love with a girl"

"Whaaat?"

"Yes, Amma... she is nice girl anyone can get... just like you..."

His mother Ratna was gazing at him without blinking.

"Amma, please. I won't ask you anything other than this... She loves me like anything, Amma. She will break down if you say anything negative"

"What do you think? Do you think I will listen to whatever you say?"

"Amma, Please..."

"I will listen to whatever you say..." She said with a severe expression and laughed.

Arnav sighed in relief.

"I love you, Amma" Arnav hugged her emotionally.

"What else other than your happiness do I need?"

"Are you fine with it?"

She nodded yes.

"But you don't see her yet..."

"She is your choice after all... she should be a nice girl"

Arnav again hugged her.

"By the way, you should have had her photograph, right?"

Arnav raised his eyebrows awkwardly.

"Show me..."

"It's in my suitcase. I will show you later"

"Ok..."

"Amma, could you do me a favor?"

"Anything"

"Please talk to Khushi once"

"Of course... I too want to talk to my Bahu. Make a call"

"Not now... tonight. That's when she would be alone"

"Ok..."

That was when a man rushed to their house.

"Ratna ma... please come to Kapoor Villa"

"What happened, Ram?"

"Kapoorji tried to commit suicide," he said in a low tone.

Ratna and Arnav spared a shocking glance and rushed to Kapoor's villa. When they came there, they saw Rishab crying, lying on the bed.

"Kapoorji, what happened? Why do you take such a drastic decision?" Ratna asked.

"Ratnaji, there is no reason for me to live anymore... I don't like to live..."

"Don't say like that, sir. There is nothing that could not be sorted out. Any problem has a solution" Arnav said.

"This problem has no solution"

"Why are you so unconfident, sir? You had given life to many people. Anyone will help you to sort out your problem"

"Will you help?"

"Of course, Sir. If I could sort your problem, I will surely help you"

"You can... if you wish"

"Then I will do it"

"My daughter is pregnant. The child could not be aborted because she completed her fourth month. I have pampered her a lot that I didn't understand her getting spoilt. She is my only daughter. What can I do now? Who will marry her? will you marry her?"

Arnav was taken aback. Marry her? What the hell...!

"I will bring the father of the child, no matter what," Arnav said.

"She herself doesn't know who the father of the child is."

He didn't hesitate to tell the truth.

"Now tell me, how will you help me? Will you marry my daughter and save my dignity? Are you ready?"

Ratna and Arnav were shocked. What had he asked? Arnav was not even ready to stand there for one more minute. He turned around to leave the place but felt a tug on his leg. Rishab was clutching his feet.

"Please save my reputation. Marry my daughter, Arnav"

Arnav stood all shocked.

"Sorry, sir... I had given words to a girl. I could do nothing"

Rishab rushed to the nearby room and closed the door. Ratna ran behind him and banged on the door whereas Arnav stood, staring at the floor.

"Kapoorji, please don't make a decision in haste..." she rushed to the window and saw him, putting a rope on the fan to hang.

"Kapoorji... please don't do this... I promise... my son will marry your daughter. It's my promise" she said crying.

Arnav felt like the earth was slipping from under his feet. He was blankly staring at his mother who was crying badly.
