13 Circumstance
Part 13 circumstance
Khushi was angry like hell. She thought Arnav should have married Sheetal by an unavoidable circumstance but he married her for money. It seemed he knew Sheetal's father's intention of getting him married to Sheetal from the beginning. He should have loved her just as timepass. Otherwise, he would not have married Sheetal without even informing about it to her.
The human mind could travel around the universe in a blink of an eye. Here, Khushi's mind thought about the possibilities in a jet speed... But, unfortunately, she thought utterly wrong.
"I don't think it can be true," Lavanya thought right.
"Why?" Khushi asked.
"Khushi is a four years old child now. Just because Sheetal couldn't delay having a child, would she be still angry with her own child or what? How could anyone do that?"
"But, why does Shyam sir lie? Why should he lower her respect with such a story?"
"I already told you... Sheetal Kapoor is a drunkard. Everyone knows that. There is no use in hiding it from anyone, anymore. If Shyam sir tried to cover the truth up, the story would not have sounded true."
"Then, what would be the truth?"
"This story seems eerie... I can't think anything beyond my sight..." Lavanya sighed.
Khushi could not conclude anything.
....
Fatima took the receiver as the landline phone shouted to pick it up.
"Hello..."
"Fatima, this is Manju"
"Hi, Manju..."
"Fatima, Shyam messed up our plan it seems"
"Shyam? What did that idiot do?" she asked panickily.
"He built a wrong story about Arnav and Sheetal and made it reach Khushi"
"what do mean?"
Manju told the story said by Shyam to Lavanya.
"Yah... Allah... what will we do now?"
"I don't know... Lavanya asked me about Khushi's identity card. I avoided talking to her because I don't know, if she will share it with Khushi. Or else, I would have told her the true story"
"Can't you do that now?"
"Of course, I can but it may confuse Khushi. If she hears anything about Arnav next time, it must be certitude. She should not even have a trace of doubt in that"
"But, how could we do that?"
"We have to do that... at any cause... by hook or by crook..."
Nervousness spread in their hearts. They wanted to do something but they had no idea how to do that.
.......
On the other hand, Arnav was thinking about what baby Khushi asked him the previous day.
*Shall I ask Khushi teacher to be my mummy? *
And... he said yes. was that right? Khushi was someone's wife now. How could she be someone's daughter's mummy? Won't I create a storm in Khushi's heart? But... why did she say,
*Will you marry me, leaving your wife if I'm not happy? *
How could she ask that being someone's wife? Didn't she know it would create a storm in his heart? Or, did she ask that to create a storm in his heart? What was she up to? What did she want? She was easy to understand when they were in college. How did she turn into a puzzle? He closed his eyes because he knew it was him who was the reason for her change. That pricked him. Guiltiness was pooling in his heart. She loved him so much but he gave her something in return that she could not tolerate... certainty to say, no one could tolerate it. He felt ashamed of himself to do that to Khushi... who was once his breath... his life... his everything.
Let's see what would be her answer to his daughter. She would almost try to cope with it. However, she had to. For that, baby Khushi should get a chance to talk to Khushi first. As he asked her not to ask Khushi in front of anyone, she won't ask Khushi in the presence of her classmates. So, Arnav decided to go to her class to pick her up a little late. So, Khushi would be left alone with baby Khushi. He knew his daughter would use the chance. Arnav was thinking so...
But... not everything happens as per our wish. It was 2 pm.
Arnav got a call that made him jump out of his seat. Taking his car key, he walked while dialing his home landline. Coming to his car, he started the engine. At the same time, the call got attended. It was Fatima who attended the call.
"Hello,"
"Fatima Chachi, Arnav speaking"
"Haan, tell me Arnav bituwa"
"I'm going to our village, urgently"
"Is anything serious?"
"Yes, Amma is serious"
"Whaaat? Who told you?"
"Razia kaki called me. It seems, her condition is serious"
"Oh, God... shall I come?"
"No need... I'm going. Pick Khushi from school. Take care of her. I will call you later after reaching there out"
"Ok, bituwa..."
Cutting the call, Arnav geared the car up.
Fatima's mind worked fast. She would not get a better chance than this to implement what she wanted. She called Manju and instructed her on what to do. Manju readily agreed as they were expecting such a chance. She was fully set to do her part.
Disconnecting the call, she called the driver.
"Mohan..."
"Jee"
"Didn't you want to go to the temple with your wife?"
"Yes, but I didn't ask Arnav sir about it"
"Arnav bituwa won't say anything if you want to spend with your family. How long will it take to fulfill her simple wish? Go and fulfill her wish"
"But, Arnav Sir..."
"I will talk to him"
"Really? Will you do that?"
"Yes..."
"Thank you, Chachi"
"You are welcome... don't hurry... give your wife enough time."
"Jee"
Though Fatima sent him he was not fully satisfied. So, he dialled Arnav. Arnav attended the call through Bluetooth.
"Hello..."
"Arnav sir... Fatima Chachi said..."
Cutting him,
"Yeah... just follow her instructions..." he disconnected the call.
Mohan looked at the phone and smiled. His long-term wish would get fulfilled today. He went to his house.
Fatima waited for the right time.
The school bell rang. Students started leaving the class. Only baby Khushi was left. As the class became empty, baby Khushi came to Khushi.
"I was so happy with you last evening," She said.
Khushi nodded, smilingly.
"Would you be always happy at home?"
Khushi became content.
"I liked how you and uncle played at home"
Khushi caressed her hair. Poor girl, it seemed she had never been happy at home with her parents. Why the hell they married to each other if they could not make their beloved ones happy?
"Shall I ask you something?"
Khushi nodded yes.
"Will you be my mummy?"
Khushi was shaken like ever before. What kind of obligation was that? A torturous sensation spread in her stomach. By which means baby Khushi asked it? Did she know what she was asking for?
"I don't have mummy... will you become my mummy? Please?" she touched her chin cutely.
Khushi could not come to composure. She didn't know what to say.
"Pleasssssee" she again asked.
"Your Daddy will get upset with you if he gets to know you asked me this"
"He won't... because he permitted me to ask you this"
That was a big blow to Khushi. She was looking at baby Khushi with an unbelievable stare. Her father permitted to ask her this? What did he think of himself? Or, what did he think of HER? did he think he could turn any table as per his wish? Let him come... she had to show who she was... Khushi fumed.
She took her phone out as it vibrated. She saw an unknown number flashing on her mobile. She attended it.
"Who is speaking?"
"Khushi bitiya, this is Fatima, baby Khushi's chachi"
"Oh... Namaste"
"Namaste, bitiya... I called you to seek a help"
"What help?"
"Could you bring Khushi home now?"
Khushi was taken aback.
"Me? But how could I..."
Interrupting her,
"Arnav bituwa went to our village urgently because his mother is serious."
Khushi was shocked. Was Arnav's mother still alive? Then why was she at their village alone, leaving her only son? Khushi knew very well Arnav had no one other than his mother. He loved his mother so much and never defied her for anything. his every step towards the future included his mother. Then, why did he leave her alone? What kind of life he was living?
She come out of her thought as Fatima continued.
"Our driver is on leave today. My husband is sick. I'm alone at home. That's why I'm requesting you to help me. Baby Khushi likes you so much. She won't like to come home with anyone. and I too can't invite anyone home because not everyone is trustworthy here..."
Though Khushi was embarrassed she was melted by her requisition. She could not deny her because it was about baby Khushi. It won't be hard for her to drop baby Khushi at home as it was not a big deal. Yet... she hesitated because it was Arnav's house. The circumstance of his house might make her furious, like, his wedding photo, or something. She too was a human after all.
"Please bitiya... Manju is busy with some work it seems. Or else, Manju will bring Khushi home"
Khushi sighed.
"Ok... I will bring her. tell me your address"
"No, 4, Second lane, Indira Nagar"
"Ok... we will come after four"
"No need... Manju will manage. You just leave with Khushi"
"Ok..."
Khushi disconnected the call. She got ready to go to the place where Arnav was LIVING.
To be continued...
