That night at the hospital, I ended up telling Gojo about my recent phone call with Sukuna. We had three days to craft a plan before thirteen sorcerers would be well on their way to kill me.
The next day, Gojo came down to my place to visit Megumi and I to explain his method.
The three of us stood in my kitchen. Megumi leaned one arm on the counter, trying his best to hide his fatigue.
"We've got two days now, that's if what Sukuna told her is true." Megumi said.
"Is that even enough time to make a plan?" I asked
"We don't really have much of a choice."
Gojo stepped forward, "Well... I've already requested some help with that."
Megumi tilted his head quizzically, "Who...?" He asked. Satoru looked sure of himself and curled his fingers around the front door handle. Megumi and I glanced at each other, raising our brows.
Gojo swung the door open only to reveal, Nobara.
"Kugisaki!?" Megumi blurted.
She stepped inside and put her hands on her hips, "You three look desperate, I'm here to help."
"How the hell does she know about all this?" Megumi said.
"Well...y/n told her about it at the ball."
Megumi gawked at me,"What? Y/n!"
"Oops..."
Cat's out of the bag.
Nobara chimed in, "It wasn't too hard to figure out Megumi. You of all bringing a hottie like her to the party was enough to let me know something was up."
Gojo let out a smug chuckle as Megumi rolled his eyes, "Wow thanks... Do you even have an actual plan to help us? We don't need dead weight."
"Ouch, Sensei already mapped everything out. I happen to play a very important role in this plan."
"Yeah sure." Megumi said sarcastically. Nobara pouted.
"So what is the plan, exactly?" I asked.
Gojo began, "Alright, so y/n and Megumi, you'll be moved in with me for the next few days at my apartment. During the day of the attack, Megumi and I will come down to y/n's house and wait outside for those sorcerers. With a veil over us, we should be able to fight out in the open. Now, back at my apartment, Nobara will stay behind with y/n, just in case an attacker manages to find his way over there, which I doubt will happen. But we will use Nobara as a precaution to protect y/n. This should work."
The plan actually sounded pretty legitimate. Whoever was going to show up would think I'm still at my house. It's smart to keep me hidden away somewhere. Although, I did have my gripes about having Megumi fight. He still wasn't fully healed.
"Are you guys ready?" Gojo said.
I glanced at Megumi but he was too busy with his eyes forward in a serious state. He wanted to go along with this, I could tell.
"Wait." I said, "Megumi's not even healed. What if something happens and-."
"Don't worry about me y/n. Sensei, let's do this."
"Megumi? You're still in pain. It- it's obvious."
He clutched his torso, "Y/n... I'm fine."
Gojo clapped his hands, "So that's it, you two, start packing an overnight bag. Nobara and I will be waiting in car. Make it quick. Looks like we'll be living together."
I still wasn't onboard with Megumi's fighting but there was nothing I could do to change his mind.

Later that evening, we arrived at Gojo's apartment. It was a crisp loft tucked away at the peak of the city. Jujutsu Tech must've been paying him real well to afford a place like this. Large, gaping windows framed a picturesque view of the night life.
Gojo tossed his keys on a nearby table and plucked off his shoes, "There's only one other bedroom so either you two share or sleep in the living room."
Megumi and I glanced at each other. I wasn't about to sleep on a couch so either he slept with me or in the sitting room.
"I call the left side of the bed." I said, gathering my things.
Gojo pointed the way, "First door down that hall."
Megumi followed behind. "Hey, if we're gonna be rooming together, don't make a mess."
"Coming from the boy who slugs around in the same two sweatshirts on a weakly basis."
"I should've picked the living room." He muttered.
"Huh? Are you afraid to sleep with a girl?" I joked.
He masked his own blush with a scowl, "I like my space."
"I'll make sure to cuddle up next to you and conquer all your so called 'space'."
"I will literally kick you off the bed."
"You know you'd love it."
We plopped our stuff down in the room. A wide white bed took up the center. It was pristine, like it hadn't been used in a while.
I looked in the mirror and threw my hair up in a ponytail for the night. Megumi sat on the mattress and typed away at his phone screen.
"Turn around." I said.
"Why?"
"Because I'm going to change dummy."
Megumi immediately swiveled his body as I peeled off my clothes and into some comfortable pajamas.
When I finished and turned back around, Megumi was passed out on the bed. His body must've been exhausted. I flicked off the light and crawled beneath the covers. I distanced myself towards the edge, keeping a safe patch of unoccupied space between us. Our backs faced each other. I could hear his soft breaths permeate the silence. He shifted while the bed buckled slightly.
For some reason, I was nervous. I curled myself up and tried to take up as little space as possible. I turned, and that's when our eyes met.
"Goodnight..." I mumbled, an effort to break the awkwardness of sharing a bed. Megumi flashed a lazy, closed mouth grin as his eye lids hung in slits.
"Night y/n." He hummed.
I shut my eyes. As the night ensued, it was hard for me to sleep through the cold. I knew I should've brought more than just a tank top and sweatpants. I was in and out of dreams, waking up with my arms covered in goosebumps. I glanced over at Megumi, he was sound asleep, all warm in his hoodie.
I shifted around in bed to get comfortable again, Megumi opened his eyes. "You okay?" He groaned, the mist of sleep still present on his face.
"Could I borrow one of your shirts? Im freezing... Sorry." I murmured quietly.
Megumi sighed, "Why don't you just come here?"
I paused, he waited for me to move closer.
I couldn't believe he even suggested that. Was he serious or just playing me?
I slowly edged towards him and he wrapped his arms around me. I nuzzled into his chest. He was literally like a portable furnace.
"Jesus you're freezing." He said.
"I hope I'm not making you cold as well."
"You're too small to freeze up my body y/n."
I chuckled and let myself drift away.

That night, we had no idea that just two days later, everything would change. We thought we had this all under control however, we were horribly wrong. Dead wrong... I wish I could go back to that night with Megumi and savor the feeling of sleeping peacefully in his arms. That was the calmest I'd be for a long time. The safest I'd be. This was all just the beginning...
We were stupid to think we could outsmart a man like Sukuna. Because of our naivety, things just got worse.
This is truly where it all starts for me...
Welcome to my journey...
A vivid dance with the devil.
Down to the pits of hell...
