IV

The fireteam found themselves being escorted out of the premises, seeing only remains of the Hive armor. Their weapons taken away from them and having to follow these strange and mysterious creatures that seemingly came out of nowhere. The big one walks behind them, probably making sure they don't try anything funny. But even if they did, the fireteam doubts that they would be able to do anything against these things. One is capable of summoningy almost what it looks like, the sun and melt away her foes. The big one can make the ground beneath him crumble and somehow able to levitate his foes and then there is the skinny one. Appearing out of cracks as sand and then forming himself into that shape, then the cat things, these things, they defy the knowns laws.

They are escorted into a ship of some sorts, bigger than any of what the Guardians have.

They enter through the doors on the bottom side of the ship and inside is out of this world. Nothing can be compared, no cabal ship, not even HELM itself. Decorated in gold lines with white interior, a beautiful blue light coming from the small light sources in the wall. Inside there are some strange people, two are human that is for sure, which in of itself is weird. But the other one is a tall humanoid figure, prosthetic arm and leg, heavy armor and a massive four barreled gun. As the ship floats up into the space it jumps into warp drive and they enter a strange dimension, nothing what they saw. Roovaz even thinks that he saw a massive mechanical worm floating alongside them, but the others didn't care so he was probably imagining and Vesh and Snake-13 are far too immersed by the ship and the people.

They finally exit out of the warp thing and see a even bigger ship in the distance. As they get closer a large tube starts extending towards them and they are quickly hooked up. Soon they make their way down the tube and into the big ship and inside it they didn't expect to look so empty, yet so decorated. Statues of some think being with tentacles going out of it's presumably head. But what does confuse them is a set of devices that seem to be made of gold and same white material, but this gold is moving. Bending, deforming and again forming into a shape, some look semi normal while others are strange and otherworldly. They finally make it to a specific section of the ship, walking in silence, only exchanging glances. There is a large table where they are pointed to sit down and so they do just that. Then the creatures simply leave.

Snake-13: Well, this is really weird. Could this be a dream? Guys, pinch me.

Roovaz punches snake in the face, he wanted to do that for so long but he just needed an excuse.

Snake-13: I said pinch, not punch your moron! That fucking hurt!

Roovaz: Sorry, I misheard.

They start to argue. The two of them, despite being in the same fireteam for so long, about two or three years, never really got along. There is often conflict, arguing and punching. Roovaz likes to take things slow and methodical, while Snake-13 is your typical titan, go in guns and blazing with a good dose of punching. Vesh has grown the ability to simply ignore their bickering, muting them completely. She is far too interested in the things around her, strange devices, a small robot that cleans the floor, a lot of decoration such as plants, pots and even plushy toys. She is wondering where the things went off, why would they just leave them alone here. She noticed a door on the right from where they entered, it seemed to have strange growths and tentacles coming from it. Why didn't they destroy it? What is behind that door? Suddenly she sees 4 kids come walking up to the table. This causes the two dogs to stop barking and stare in confusion. They are 4 human kids, they look no older than 15, so what are they doing here.

???: Would you like something to eat?

One kid said, he had white hair, not like going old kind of hair, like natural hair. Feeling thirsty and wouldn't mind a bite Vesh nods.

Vesh: We would very much like it.

???: Perfect.

The kid goes of and quickly brings a tray of strange cubes and a canister. He pours them the liquid which is water and then they just stare at the cubes.

???: Don't worry, they aren't poisonous.

Vesh takes one of the red cubes and take a bite from it. It tastes just like red meat, well seasoned and familiar.

Aurelius: Well, I guess introductions are in order. My name is Aurelius, the guy with green hair is Kirill, the girl is Garcia and the one with the missing eye is Quincy. And yours are?

Vesh: My name is Vesh, this one is my brother Roovaz and the robot here is Snake-13.

Garcia: Is that robot a servant of yours?

Snake-13: Whaaat! Listen here kid, I am nobodies servant. Be careful when you talk to your elders and show them respect.

Kirill: I think the ones who are elders here are us. Not you.

Snake-13: Listen kid, I know yall have wild imaginations but please don't make a fool of yourself. Where are your elders, we want to talk to them.

Aurelius: How old do you think we are?

Snake-13: Well, at best 16.

The kids start to laugh which makes Snake-13 feel like he is being insulted. But Vesh and Roovaz are also confused, Snake is right, they can't be older than that. So why are they laughing?

Aurelius: Listen, Kirill here is the youngest one and he is about 1300 years old. Year more or less, we still don't know exactly how old he is.

Roovaz: Are you joking? Like, I know kids want to be older and that but no normal human lives past 150.

Garcia: Well, we aren't exactly normal. We aren't joking and if you don't believe us then that is your problem.

Snake-13: Come on kids, bring us your elders.

Aurelius: We are the only ones on this ship. Well, there is our ships Cephalon but outside of him and us there are only animals and other things, but no other humans.

Roovaz: What the hell is a Cephalon?

Aurelius: You can look at it as this ships AI. Well, anyway. Enough about us, what were the things you were fighting?

Vesh: I am sorry, but where are the creatures that brought us in. We would like to talk to them and ask them what they are?

Kirill: You will get your answers once you gives us ours. Now, answer. Who and what were those things?

Vesh gets a little frightened by the boys gaze. It looks commanding and intense, but what terrifies her most is the gaze itself, those eyes, they look so weird. The pupils seem to be different than what you would find on a normal human. The boy grins.

Kirill: What? Are you mesmerized by my beauty? I am free, so if you want to, shoot your shots.

Vesh: Excuse me, but what?

Kirill: Nothing, nothing. Anyway, are you going to answer?

Roovaz: Can you stop intimidating my sister. Ok, the things we fought are called the Hive. They are one of the forces that we must survive against.

Garcia: What do you mean one of the forces? Are there more?

Roovaz: You really aren't from here, are you?

Kirill: Oh, really. And what gave that away?

Roovaz: -_-. Well, anyway, there are the Eliksni or Fallen, however you want to call them. Then there are the Cabal and then the Vex.

Aurelius: Hmmm. Fascinating. The Vex, are they the machine things we encountered.

Roovaz: If they are orange, or white or rusty then yes. You encountered the Vex.

Kirill: What are you? I saw you use strange powers.

Roovaz: We are Guardians, the protectors of the Traveler and humanity. The powers were given to us by the Traveler.

Kirill nods, seemingly pleased by the answer. These powers, while they can't be compared to the powers that they themselves posses or their frames they are interesting. A couple more questions are exchanged . The kids explain to the fireteam what they are and where they come from. While at first shocked, the fireteam comes to terms that they must accept, it sounds too strange to believe but there is so much evidence supporting their story that it one must take them for truth. After a couple of normal questions Vesh asks if they can meet with the creatures that brought them it. Aurelius looks at Quincy who nods and stands up from the table. In a second he is replaced by the white one with the horns that held Vesh with a knife to her throat.

Snake-13: How the hell did he do that and where did he go?

Aurelius: It is called Transference, it is the ability that makes us control these Frames.

Roovaz: Did you just say control?

Aurelius: Correct, these things, Frames, are our suits of war with which we fight.

Snake-13: Are they robots then?

Garcia: Not really, first they are organic, secondly some have a consciousness and the third thing. These things were once human.

They all at first ignore what Garcia said but once their brains processed the information they quickly look at her with wide eyes and confused looks.

Vesh: These things, they were humans? What happened to them?

Garcia: Long story short, they got purposely infected with a virus that slowly but surely turned them into what they are now? There is more to it but that is all I am going to give you.

Roovaz: Do they know that they are being controlled?

Kirill: Most of them have lost their sanity and thought. They are like empty vessels, in pain and in need of controlling, and that is what we do. Ease their pain.

Roovaz: So they are husks.

Kirill: You could look at it like that if you want.

This makes the fireteam feel a sense of dread and sadness. To be turned into a weapon by a virus, slowly loosing yourself, constantly in pain, that is not a way that any of them want to go out in.

Vesh: One question? You mentioned something about the Void and Void powers. Is it like ours, or is it something else entirely.

Garcia: The Void is not the thing you use. It is a power that can not be explained. It breaks all known laws of the universe, it makes things that would only exist in books and imaginations of a child into a reality. It is capable of manifesting emotions themselves into reality, use them against you. And THING, is behind that, or is a creation of it.

Vesh: One person? How can a person control that?

Aurelius: While he doesn't have a name, most of us call him either as The Man In The Wall, or Wally for more joking tone. But he is one of the reasons why we are what we are. We signed a deal with him.

Roovaz: What deal?

Aurelius: To use his powers.

Snake-13: You said that the Void breaks any law. Compared to our paracausality how does it compare?

Kirill: You see, the Void is a thing of great mystery. It is capable of creating endless timelines and worlds, your death, if you are like us, is a simple one of many. It doesn't care for time and space, it creates it's own. While your powers can skip the in the middle process, jumping from nothing to the desired outcome, our powers can dictate the space and time around us. Bend and use it to our will.

Snake-13: Ok, that sounds overpowered as hell.

Vesh: You said about The Man In The Wall, can you tell us more about him?

Aurelius: He is an existence that simply creates for it's own entertainment. It is able to grant powers at will, mimic and copy anyone it wishes. But he never gets involved directly, he will never join the game himself, he will just watch and spice it up for his amusement.

Roovaz: Then how do you kill him?

Kirill: You don't, he is that which has no end. Like the Vex, but much more powerful and less methodical.

As they continue to talk Vesh can't help but start to feel scared. The place, universe where they come from and the beings they fight against, thank god they don't exist in their universe. The Void sounds frightening and the figure behind it only brings dread at the simple thought. To him, every battle, every death, is a simple game that he loves to watch. And she can't think of what these kids went through, each of their stories sounds like a nightmare that no kid deserves to go through. But maybe, just maybe they could make them their allies, they would be unstoppable. Maybe, just maybe there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel, a diamond in the rough that they could use at this very moment.
