It's that time of year again <3 

ONC time!

Every time I've participated, I liked to do something different from what I usually do. This time, after brewing the prompts, I thought I'd take a chance at a genre I never do ~ horror! A zombie story with a twist! I thought prompt #6 fit perfectly.

My story?
Axel Montes survived a virus that overtook the world a year ago. Having settled into his new life, living safely in a "q-zone" to keep out the infected -- those who caught a mutated version of the same virus that took killed many -- he believed there was nothing that could go wrong...

Then he finds Riley, his girlfriend he thought died at the start of the virus, sneaking into the q-zone to steal food.

Axel is happy to see her alive...

Until he can't stop thinking about her flesh...
