You're helping Venus set up for her baby shower with you doing a lot of the work while she's out getting the food and extra little party favors. Her and Namjoon closed on a house just after your birthday in May and they moved in right after. So it now being July, they have tons of space for the baby and a gorgeous backyard to hold the baby shower.

The colors Venus chose are so pretty and compliment each other so well. Pink and yellow just bring the summer feel and brightens up any mood. So far, the dessert table is your favorite. You really had your hand at decorating when you did that.

By the time you have the entire area decorated, it's an hour and a half before the shower is to start. Venus practically wobbles out to the back, clapping in acknowledgment.

"It looks so good. I'm really excited!" She hugs you, her belly taking up all the room now. "Come on, we need to get dressed."

"Dammit, I forgot my sandals I wanna wear at home." You pout.

"Oh, Tae dropped them off as I was on my way in. He's going to pick up Yoongi and Jimin and said he'll be right back."

"Get you a man like mine." You tease as you're both walking inside.

Venus laughs, shaking her head. "I do. And his big head ass got me pregnant. Be careful with those ones, Y/n."

"I really didn't need to hear all that." A woman chuckles. "Oh, Venus. Look at you honey."

Venus smiles wide as she rushes as fast as she can go hug her. "Mom, I missed you."

"I missed you too. Look at you. You look so good. Baby is growing well isn't she?"

"And very fast." She groans, hand resting on the tip of her belly. "Here, feel."

She takes her mom's hand and places it on her belly. Her mom's eyes widen and they both squeal. She's most definitely her mother's daughter. You giggle, catching both of their attention.

Her mom smiles at you, opening her arms for you. "Y/n, my second girl. Come here."

You smile, finding your home in her arms. "Hi mom."

"You look good, too. You're getting kind of thick. Either someone's feeding you well or that's happy relationship weight."

"Okay, but you and my mom keep telling me in gaining weight. To the gym it is." You try wiggling away but she's holding on to you awfully tight.

She chuckles, finally letting you go. "Oh, stop it. You look good. I haven't seen you in a couple years. I hear you've got a new man."

"I do." You smile. "His name is Taehyung."

"That's Namjoon's best friend, isn't it?"

"Yeah. How'd you know?"

"He was with Namjoon when he picked me up from the airport. I'm just coming from my vacation in Australia. He's very handsome."

You giggle, fighting off your blush. "That he is. Very sweet, too. You'd love him."

"I already do. Will he be coming back?"

"Mom, he's Y/n's. Back off now." Venus teases.

"I'm not going to steal him, I was just wondering."

"Can you go watch the food and things while waiting for people to show up? We have to get dressed." Venus tugs me toward the direction of her bedroom as her mom heads toward the back door.

You laugh, thinking back on the trip you took to visit home. "Okay, but why is my mom in love with the boy, too?"

"The affect Kim Taehyung has on these women." Venus smiles, stripping out of her clothes.

"Geez, Ve. Your areolas are huge." You say, grabbing her strapless dress and helping her get into it. You've seen each other naked plenty of times. You're basically sisters.

"Don't remind me. I can't even wear bras anymore. They're irritating to my nipples."

"Are you going to breastfeed?"

"Oh, without question." She huffs, adjusting the dress to fit her belly. "It's super healthy for me and Nami. She'll be well fed and I'll be burning calories. It's a huge win-win."

She goes over to her vanity and digs through her makeup. You quickly change into your clothes, slicking your hair into a high bun. Your makeup for today is simple and easy to do while standing in front if the door mirror. Just cat-affect eye liner, mascara, and pink lip gloss. While Venus is doing her makeup, you curl her hair. To think, you're doing this for her baby shower now and in a matter of months- or years pending- you'll be doing this for her wedding. It almost brings tears to your eyes to see how much you two have grown together over the years. Inside and out, forward and backward, she knows you better than anyone and vice versa.

45 minutes passes and your best friend is looking and feeling beautiful. You both make your way out of the house to see a good amount of people here already. The gift table is slowly rising with gifts for the newest Kim, pink bags and gift wrap popping out.

You socialize with the guests being the best hostess. Once it's a full house, you get everybody going with shower games. Man and woman alike are playing along, using paper streamers to measure Venus's belly, seeing who can chug out of a bottle the fastest, and guessing how many gumballs are in the big baby bottle. Venus is having the time of her life, and apparently Nami too, who's flipping away in there. The best part of it all is that you have Taehyung's help. Sure you're the one hosting and you don't expect any help, but Taehyung is more than willing to not let you do this alone. And he's a life of the party. He's playing the games, making sure everyone's okay and eating, while also checking on the needs of your best friend and even Namjoon.

As the shower finishes, you, Taehyung, and Namjoon are hauling all of the baby's gifts inside while Yoongi and Jimin are taking down the decorations outside and throwing away garbage. Venus is happily monitoring everything with her feet kicked up.

"Today was amazing! Thank you all so much." She says, biggest grin on her face. Her mom is sitting next to her, rubbing her belly softly. "I knew today would go smooth, but I didn't think it would be this smooth. You all are the best."

"It's the least we could do." Jimin smiles brightly at her. "I love babies and I can't wait till yours gets here."

"Joonie, where are you guys putting her stuff?"

Namjoon pauses as he turns his attention to his fiancée. "We're putting it in her room. We can go in when you're ready and organize it."

"Okay." She sips on her lemonade and Namjoon gets back to moving things into the house.

Yoongi comes over, plopping in the seat next to Venus and her mother. "Aye."

"Yo." Venus answers.

"Between us, do you think Namjoon is ready for fatherhood?"

"I don't think anyone is ever really ready to take on parenthood." Venus says, looking at Yoongi. "Especially when it's unplanned. But I can definitely see that he's willing to do what he can as a dad. Why do you ask? Has he said anything to you guys?"

"Oh, nothing. I was just wondering and thought I'd give my input on the whole Namjoon-dad thing."

"Okay, I'm listening."

"Namjoon may be somewhat reserved, but he's got that nurturing mentality. And with his aura, he can easily make a person comfortable. I think he'll need to adjust to the being a new dad shit, but he can do it."

"Wow. Thank you, Yoongi-yah."

"No problem. Now that I've got you all mushy and soft, I'm taking home half those leftover cupcakes."

Venus's mom laughs. "All that nice stuff said about your friend was to get the sweets?"

Yoongi shakes his head. "No, I meant every word. But those have my name on them."

"Take em all, I don't care." Venus shrugs. "I haven't had a taste for cupcakes since being pregnant."

"Jackpot."

"Yoongi! I can't reach the top of that pole!" Jimin yells out.

"And what the hell makes you think that I can!? We're the same damn height!"

"Go get Namjoon-hyung or something!"

"Get me for what?" Namjoon asks, you and Taehyung tagging along behind him.

Venus speaks up. "Your friends, the tiny boys, can't reach something."

"The poor boys." Taehyung jokes and you giggle.

"'The poor boys.' I won't be a 'poor boy' when my foot gets shoved straight-"

"Mom, get your phone and record this." Venus laughs.

You shake your head, watching as a tiny Yoongi chases a big Taehyung. "Pure chaos."

Not sure what I had going on at the end, but yeah! Lol there's so much that goes on at baby showers that my mind couldn't put everything together. So if it seemed rushed, that's why 😭
