Chapter Six
"Hey, I'll head out first." Jennie's locker neighbor said as she left her alone in the locker rooms.
As she slipped her leg into her white knee socks, her eyes met with New Balance sneakers, feet too large to be of a girl's.
"Oh." Slowly looking up to find Taehyung's face. "What are you doing in the girls locker room?" She smiled, taking the other knee sock up her leg.
Grabbing her backpack for her, Taehyung tried to search for a good lie, but decided otherwise. "You were taking too long."
Inserting her feet into her shoes, they began to walk, side by side.
"I saw you." Jennie turned her head slightly, side glancing his figure. "In the window." She laughed. "Your red headed friend stands out."
Crap. Taehyung thought, letting out a nervous laugh. "Word spreads pretty fast." Jennie relieved her backpack off of him, adjusting it onto herself. Taehyung couldn't help but glance at her chest.
"He said, 'that everyone was telling him about you walking with me and that, no one ever walks with me. Especially a cute girl.' So he wanted to know what the fuss was about. So I pointed you out on the track."
Putting her palms on her cheeks, she squished into them. "Ah!" She squealed, embarrassed. "I didn't look gross, did I?" She questioned, pushing a strand of hair away from her face.
Taehyung chuckled, completely enchanted by her natural cuteness. He enjoyed the idea of her simplicity. "How could someone as cute as you, look gross?" He asked seriously, his body moving on its own as he became inches away from hers.
Jennie blushed, realizing the proximity of their closeness, all while admiring how sculpted his face was.
"Uhm." Jennie muttered, but quickly recovered by skipping a beat ahead of Taehyung, reaching the locker room exit. "Where did you say your house was again?" She twirled to face him, only to run her head into his chest.
"Oops." Taehyung said softly, his arms gently holding her inside for a moment before rubbing his hands at her shoulders. "You okay?" He licked his lips, peering into her eyes.
"I'm fine." Responding a little too quickly, Jennie shut her eyes, opening them again slowly, a strand of hair falling in front of her face.
He let her go to fix her hair by tucking it behind of her ear.
"It's not far from school actually. But I hope you don't mind walking." He smiled, starting to walk out into the school hallways.
