Chapter Four
"So you're in the drama club?" Jennie hugged her English textbook against her chest.
Taehyung diverted his attention to the petite girl, gulping as he took note of the fitted uniform and the way it stuck to the curves of her body perfectly.
He laughed, embarrassed at Jennie's sudden invasion of privacy. "You know, Kai is in it too actually. Believe it or not, we're actually in the same friend group."
Appalled, Jennie distorted her face into weird contours, shocking Taehyung, leaving him to wonder how someone could make such a face and still look so adorable.
"No freaking way!" She smiled, nudging him a little as they walked together in the hallway. "You're so different from each other."
"I wouldn't say that. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
"Oh come on!" If you thought cheesecake was dense, Jennie was denser. "Don't be humble. You're so kidding. Right?"
Peering up at him, she could discern the stoic look on his face. Moving further from her, he scratched the back of his head. "Let's just set a date for when we could work on Hamlet."
"Oh oka—"
"I'll pick you up after school today. What's your sixth period?"
"Um." Shuffling through her bag, creasing out the wrinkled class schedule. "P.E."
"Alright. Cool. Meet me at the bleachers, Ruby Jane."
It never occurred to her as to how Taehyung knew her name. A detail that slipped her mind—but all she could think of was being partnered with sweet Taehyung and that he'd pick her up after class.
