Virgil sleepily walked towards the kitchen, he had spent hours on Tumblr and had not really been aware of time passing. Then suddenly it was really late (or early, depending how you looked at it). He was going to sleep, but first he had to drink a glass of water or he suspected he might thirst to death.
He stopped in the doorway to the living room, frowning at what he saw. Out of everything he might have expected to see this early in the morning, Logan was not one of them. Why in the world was he still awake?
"Logan?" Virgil said questioningly, very surprised to find the logical side awake at three in the morning. He was writing frantically in a black notebook with one hand and fumbling with his phone in the other one. Virgil carefully walked up to him, trying not to startle him, because he wasn't sure he had heard him.
"Huh?" Logan looked up, his eyes searching through the room for a second before he spotted Virgil. He suspected Logan had not thought anyone would bother him at this time. He looked extremely tired, he didn't have his normal straight posture, his hair was messy and his eyes a bit red, possibly from lack of sleep.
"Yes, Virgil?"
"Why are you not in bed? Usually I'm the only one who ever stays up until 3 am." He sat down on the couch next to Logan, trying to look at what he was writing, but Logan moved the notebook out of his sight.
"I'm so tired that I cannot sleep," Logan answered, continuing to scribble down things in his notebook and looking through Spotify after good songs at the same time, "if you understand what I mean."
"I... yes I do, but I thought I was the one who never got enough sleep. Logan, when was the last time you got enough of sleep? You look half dead." Virgil said, a feeling of worry growing in his gut. Logan always scolded the others when they didn't get enough sleep, he seemed to be the last person to not follow his own advice.
"The last time I got enough with sleep?" Logan repeated absentmindedly, still scribbling on the paper. Then his brain seemed to fathom that it was a question and he stared at the pencil he was holding in his hand for a few seconds before opening his mouth again.
"Last week maybe... what day is it?" He said, then mumbling something while counting on his fingers. Logan not even knowing what day it was was not making Virgil feel any less worried.
"Friday, is it Friday?" Logan said, looking slightly proud over himself, so Virgil avoided to mention that it was Tuesday. Logan's eyes narrowed at him.
"You seem anxious Virgil, what is the problem?" Logan leaned in slightly, observed Virgil closely and apparently not understanding that what Virgil was anxious about was Logan himself. It was stupid of Logan to feel worried about Virgil at the moment, he should take care of himself before trying to care for Virgil.
"Logan, you need to go to bed." Virgil said, reaching out his hands out to take the notebook from him. Logan hugged it protectively to his chest and leaned out of reach for Virgil.
"No, no, I am not done with the schedule for next, next weeks filming." He muttered then making a sound of appreciation and poking at his phone, which started to play High Hopes by Panic! At The Disco.
"I was not aware that there was a new album?" He exclaimed, an excited smile appearing on his face. Virgil just sighed. He too really liked the new songs, he had already listened through the new album several times, but this was not the right moment to appreciate new music.
"Why are you even working on that now? It's not until in two weeks? Logan, quit worrying me and go to bed. Get some fucking sleep." Virgil was starting to lose his patience. Why were everyone always so reluctant to listen to him when he was trying to take care of them?
"I just want to have it done, then I won't have to stress next week." Logan muttered, as if that was a brilliant idea. Virgil stared at him angrily, his levels of frustration rising dangerously fast.
"So instead you are stressing yourself out now, and not taking care of yourself? Smart, how very smart!" Virgil said through his teeth, and Logan seemed to finally sense that he was upsetting Virgil.
"I..." He avoided Virgil's eyes and instead glanced down at the notepad he was still holding.
"I apologize for worrying you, Virgil. And I know I am to no use for anyone when I am stressed and tired," Logan sighed deeply and looked up again, right at Virgil, "I have been having trouble sleeping, and I thought- ...I thought that I could at least spend the time awake doing something useful."
"If you have been having trouble sleeping, why didn't you tell me? I would've tried to help you!" Virgil said, with a hint of desperation a little too clear in his voice.
"I apologize, I seemed to have worried you again. I can't do anything right lately." He looked at Virgil, sounding dejected as he spoke. Logan rubbed his eyes, then blinking tiredly at him.
"That's not- Logan, just stop arguing and let me help you get some sleep. And quit speaking bullshit, you do loads of good, you keep all of us from doing stupid shit all the time. Just the other day you stopped Patton from making Thomas adopt four cats." He took Logan's phone from him, pausing the music and closing down the app before handing it back to him.
Virgil stood up, looking down at Logan and making a gesture with his hand to show him to follow him. Logan did so, standing up and wobbling in a worrying way. Virgil gripped his shoulders to make sure he didn't fall. Logan then smiled joyfully at Virgil, leaning against him and looping his arms around Virgil's waist, hugging him tightly. Virgil tensed, ignoring how his face heated up at the unexpected affection.
"Uh, Logan," Virgil gently (and slightly awkwardly) pushed Logan back after a while of not really knowing how to react, "bed, remember?"
"You are very kind, Virgil." Logan announced as Virgil dragged him towards the logical traits room. Virgil snorted, that is not the way people usually described him.
"And you are very sleep deprived, and no longer think before you speak." He said, glancing back at Logan who continuously stumbled behind him, since Virgil was pulling him along.
"Maybe so, but that does not remove the truth from my previous statement." Virgil refrained from answering him, starting an argument with Logan was not going to cause him to fall asleep any easier. The door to Logan's room was open already, so all Virgil had to do was close it behind them. In case one of the other traits woke up to go to the bathroom or something he did not want them to find them together and get the wrong idea.
"You know, I'm really tired." Logan then mumbled quietly, blinking at the bright light from his lamp, and Virgil chuckled slightly at him.
"Yeah, I bet. And you better go to bed and stay there until you have slept for at least nine hours. If I see you out of bed before 1 pm I will make you regret it." Logan only giggled at that, something that Virgil had not heard him do before. He persistently ignored the fluttering feeling in his chest that the sound caused.
Logan put his notebook underneath a stack of papers on his desk, fixing a few things, moving them to their correct places. Logan seemed to be very absentminded at the moment so Virgil started to look through the drawers where Logan kept his clothes himself to speed things up. He could hear Logan sigh, so he must've seen Virgil.
"Virgil, I'm sleep deprived and a little out of it, not a drunk baby." Logan said with an insulted look when he saw that Virgil was looking for his pajamas for him. Virgil just rolled his eyes and threw the items of clothings at Logan, who, not so gracefully, failed to catch them.
"Then act like it." Virgil said, with a taunting smile that refused to go away. Logan huffed and began to change into his pajamas. He didn't seem bothered in the least by the fact that Virgil was standing right in front of him while he took his clothes off. Virgil flustered and quickly turned around, causing Logan to laugh.
"Virgil, we have the same body. Being shy in front of each other is irrational and makes no sense at all." Virgil could hear on his tone of voice that Logan found him very amusing at the moment.
"Whatever." Virgil said with a grunt, not making an effort to turn back towards Logan. He stood and read the titles of the books in Logan's bookshelf instead. He had a lot of books that was about science and stuff that Virgil didn't think anyone in their right mind would ever read, but he also saw many titles of books he had heard of.
Logan had gotten into his pajamas (a light grey t-shirt with the word 'space' written with black letters full of stars and a pair of pants that also seemed to be a sky full of stars) and now he looked at Virgil as if he didn't really know what to do next.
"And what now? You seem to be forgetting that the reason that I haven't slept much is because I simply can't. It does not seem to matter that I am so tired that I can barely stand up without leaning against something, unconsciousness is still evading me." Logan complained, looking at Virgil with tired eyes. Virgil's eyes darted between Logan and his bookshelf again, an idea forming in his head.
"What is your favorite book?"
"What? I'm too tired to be able to focus my eyes on a page for very long, I don't understand the point of telling you which book is my-" apparently Logan decided it was for the best to just reply to the question when he spotted the annoyed expression on Virgil's face, "I do not really have a favorite at the moment, but I enjoy reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore when I feel the need to lose myself in a pretend world. It is the first book in a series of three and it's about-"
"Yeah, yeah, be quiet." Virgil mumbled, searching through the bookshelf for the book that Logan had mentioned. He had many times helped Patton and, a few times, Roman to fall asleep by reading to them, they claimed he had a soothing and calm voice that made it easier for them to relax. He never really believed them, but he could at least try.
"I'm going to read to you until you fall asleep," Virgil began, silencing Logan with only a look when he opened his mouth to, most likely, argue, "there is nothing you can do about it, Logan. I am staying here until I am sure that you are getting the rest you so desperately need."
Logan just pouted at him, which Virgil ignored. He sat down on Logan's bed, leaning against the headboard and opening the book up. Logan seemed to know that there was no use in arguing, because he just slipped beneath the covers and laid down comfortably in silence. But he did lie down with his back towards Virgil, though he soon rolled over onto his back, seeming to find that more comfortable.
Virgil began to read, careful to not read too fast as that made him stutter and stumble over the words. He read the words much faster than he spoke them, reading out loud always meant speaking slowly.
After only three chapters Logan seemed to be half asleep, his breathing slow and his eyes closed. Virgil could see that he was not asleep yet though, because Logan sometimes smiled a little when something humorous happened in the book. It was most likely something Logan did without his knowledge, and Virgil was beginning to doubt his own sanity, because each time it happened he was tempted to lean down and kiss that little smile.
He blamed it on his own lack of sleep, it was over 4 am in the morning and he was not ready to acknowledge a single unexpected thing that Logan made him feel. Instead he continued to read, he was not going to leave this room until Logan was asleep. But a few moments later it was clear that he would had trouble going anywhere for the rest of the night.
Logan had rolled over again and draped an arm over Virgil's stomach, tightly hugging Virgil. Well, at least Logan was asleep. With a small sigh and a glance down at the now sleeping side Virgil continued to read, but now silently. The book was good, he wanted to find out what was going to happen to Katsa, but Virgil once again realized how late it actually was and knew he should get some sleep too.
He tried to carefully inch away from Logan, but it just caused the other trait to cling to him and press his face into Virgil's side. Swearing under his breath he realized he was not going anywhere, at least not if he wanted to avoid waking Logan up. With a slight feeling of defeat he shifted slightly, attempting to find a comfortable position to sleep in.
He was still kind off half-sitting up in a not very comfortable way, but after, what felt like a few minutes, he was lying down, still not free from Logan, so he gave up his attempts to escape the other side and decided to instead sleep too, after all he had meant to go to bed about an hour and a half ago. He reached out an arm, turning the nightlight off.
It did not take many seconds before exhaust took him over and he succumbed to the dark around them.

I really like the new p!atd album. My favorite song is High Hopes, my 8 year old little brothers favorite song is (Fuck A) Silver Lining. Mom isn't very happy about that, I find it humorous.
I am going to pride this year :D
