He heard running steps towards the balcony where he was sat. He knew exactly who it was even before Virgil started shouting his name repeatedly. "Logan. Logan, Logan, Logan, Logan!"

Logan looked up from his crossword puzzle, seeing Virgil in front of him. He seemed to be almost bouncing with excitement.

"Hello Virgil." Logan smiled at him, at how cute he was. Virgil's hair was a bit messy, only adding to it. He allowed Virgil to pull him up from the chair he was sat in, leaving his crossword and pen on the small table next to where he'd sat.

"I want to show you something! Come with me." Virgil said, already holding Logan's hand and trying to drag him with him. Logan didn't seem to have much of a choice and simply let Virgil lead him through their hotel room, out of the door and into a well lit hallway before Logan halted.

"Stop, wait. Can I put my shoes on?" Logan said, still barefoot.

"I mean, you don't need shoes. I wasn't wearing any. And the sand will probably get into your sandals if you wear those." Virgil said.

"I'm going to go ahead and guess you are bringing me to the beach then?" Logan said. After all, you found sand on the beach, and the hotel they were staying at were right by the beach. Plus, an hour ago before Virgil had gone out he'd said he was going to the beach. All evidence pointed towards his assumption.

"...Yeah. Oh, by the way. It's probably good if we bring sunscreen, you burn so easily." Virgil said. Logan could not deny that what Virgil said was correct, because it was the truth. The both of them turned back around, spending a few minutes trying to locate the sunscreen.

Ten minutes later they were actually ready to leave. Logan had decided to not wear shoes since he'd just end up never being able to completely empty them of sand. They did however now have a bag with them that contained two towels, their swimwear, a big bottle of water, and the bottle of sunscreen.

Virgil had already forced Logan to use the sunscreen, but they'd both need it again if they decided to bathe in the ocean. Virgil took Logan's hand again, more calmly walking with Logan now.

It didn't take them many minutes to get out of the hotel and down onto the beach. There were many people sunbathing, playing volleyball, and eating ice cream. Children where everywhere, building sandcastles and chasing each other around. Just as many people were in the water.

The sand was hot under Logan's feet, thankfully not enough to burn. Virgil kept walking by the edge of the beach, away from all the people, luckily. They walked for what probably felt much longer than it actually was. The heat made Logan suspect that a swim in the ocean would feel amazing.

Logan glanced at Virgil who had let go of his hand and was currently pulling his hoodie off, tying it around his waist. Logan didn't understand why he wore it on such a hot day in the first place, he had worried Virgil might get a heatstroke and was relieved to see Virgil take it off. Logan understood it was a comfort object, but it surely could not be comfortable in this heat.

A good ten minutes of walking after leaving the last other tourist behind Virgil dragged him over a cliff and down on the other side where the beach continued, but with cliffs and forest around it, almost hiding this bit of the beach. Perfect for two antisocial people like Virgil and Logan who preferred to not be around others.

"It's pretty here, the only sound is the waves, and we'll be left alone!" Virgil said, sounding a bit out of breath despite the fact that they hadn't been walking very fast at all. Logan, who had been carrying the bag with their stuff, let it fall to the ground.

"It's perfect." Logan said, wanting to tell Virgil 'and so are you' as he saw him brighten up with a pretty smile. He didn't, for the sole reason that it'd probably just make Virgil blush and shove him into the water. Instead he just reached for Virgil's shirt, grabbing it and pulling Virgil closer to press a soft kiss to his lips, a kiss that Virgil happily returned.

Then they pulled apart and as Virgil grabbed their towels from the bag, spreading them out flat on the sand while Logan pulled off his shirt and changed into his swimwear. Virgil made sure to noticeably check him out, smirking and wiggling his eyebrows when Logan caught his gaze. Logan huffed out a laugh and rolled his eyes.

"None of that now, Verge. Come swim with me instead." Logan said, making a gesture towards the ever so tempting water. He took his glasses off, leaving them by his clothes. Then he left Virgil to change, looking back one or two times simply to see how it was going for him.

He stepped out into the water, the small waves washing up against his ankles. He slowly walked out until the water was up to his waist, then turning around towards the sound of someone running through the water. He turned just in time to see Virgil throwing himself at him, not having time to move to the side. A second later he was under water, only seeing bubbles of air and the sunshine on the surface of the water above him.

Then he managed to get above water again, coughing a bit and having to brush his now very wet hair out of his eyes. He glared at Virgil who was now just as wet, standing in the water next to him.

"How rude." Was all he said, pouting at Virgil who grinned happily at him, apparently very satisfied over having successfully pushed Logan over.

"Sorry." Virgil said, obviously not regretting it for even a second and probably tempted to do it again. Logan held his hand out toward Virgil, who took it and helped him up.

"I’m sure you are."

"I am! How dare you suggest otherwise?" Virgil said and Logan could hear in his voice how close he was to bursting out laughing. Logan squeezed his hand, pulling him the slightest bit closer.

"Show it then." Logan said tauntingly, knowing that Virgil could not resist. Virgil leant in, and Logan did too, except that as soon as their lips brushed and Logan knew that Virgil’s guard was let down long ago he took the opportunity to push him away, watching him stumble and fall backwards, creating a big splash.

Logan smiled innocently at him as Virgil's head appeared above the water again, ignoring the deeply offended glare he received back.

"I cannot believe it was that easy." Logan said, laughing when Virgil shook his head and made droplets of water fly everywhere.

"This is why I have trust issues." Virgil grumbled, crossing his arms defensively over his chest when Logan offered to help him up.

"I'll make it up to you." He said, not lowering his outstretched hand. Virgil reluctantly took it, giving Logan suspicious looks even as he was helped to his feet without any complications. Logan put his free arm around Virgil's waist, smiling at how Virgil made no attempts of putting any distance between them.

"If you push me again I want a divorce." Was all Virgil said before allowing Logan to capture his lips with his. He could feel Virgil smiling into the kiss, his arms around Logan's middle and neither of them pulled away for a long moment, too content just standing there. At least until a wave that bigger than the previous ones washed against them, bringing them back to reality.

Virgil pulled back the tiniest bit, grinning at him. He let his arms drop from around Logan, taking a few more steps out in the water before beginning to swim, shouting, "Come swim with me, nerd."

Logan followed him, a smile on his face that refused to go away as they swam together, occasionally splashing water in the others face until it developed into wrestling each other in the water.

Exhausted and a bit cold they returned onto land, the sun immediately beginning to warm them up.

Logan sat down on his towel, watching the sun shine on Virgil and glimmer in every drop of water on his body. Virgil sat down on his towel that was right by Logan's. He closed his eyes, turning his face towards the sun, looking relaxed and content, and so handsome that Logan's heart fluttered. It didn't matter that they'd been together, and known each other, for ages, Virgil could still take his breath away without even trying.

Logan laid down on the towel, throwing an arm over his eyes to not be blinded by the sun that seemed to shine as brightly as it possibly could. He groaned and fumbled for his glasses and the sunscreen, not wanting to burn. He quickly put his glasses back on and applied sunscreen to wherever he could reach, then throwing the bottle at Virgil who flinched and gave him a glare for disturbing him.

"I don't want you to burn, you'll be so whiney, put some on." Was all Logan said before once again lying down, letting the warm sun and the soft breeze relax him. He sighed, suspecting it would be far too easy to drift off to sleep if he laid there too long. Though sleeping in the sun was a very tempting thought it was likely a bad idea.

Logan opened his eyes a tiny bit, looking towards Virgil who was once again sitting up and facing the sun, breathing calmly and looking honestly peaceful, something that was a more rare sight than Logan wished it was.

"Verge." Logan said softly, making Virgil turn his head towards him, opening his eyes to look at him. God, he just wanted to wrap himself around Virgil and never let go. "I love you, and I am so lucky to have you."

"You're an enormous sap." Virgil said, cheeks reddening as he changed position to kneel next to Logan. Logan grinned up at him, watching Virgil press a hand over his mouth in an attempt to not grin just as widely back at him.

"I love you too." Virgil said quietly, reaching out a hand and messing with Logan's not yet dry hair for a few seconds, then poking his nose.

"Boop." He said, making Logan laugh and scrunch his nose, squinting up at Virgil.

"What's that for?" He asked. Virgil simply shrugged, having to take a moment to think of a good enough reason.

"For being unnecessarily cute." Was apparently the reason Virgil settled on. Logan did not think that was a good reason, but instead of saying that he rolled his eyes, making Virgil poke his nose again.

"Boop."

"Come here," Logan said, not caring that Virgil was sat right next to him, which was already pretty close, "kiss me."

"Really, I have to lean down to do that? You can't sit up?" Virgil asked tauntingly, scoffing when Logan shook his head.

"As you wish." He put his hands down in the sand on either side of Logan, hovering above him for long enough to smirk at him before leaning down to press their mouths together. Logan put a hand on the nape of his neck, happily kissing back.

Virgil broke the kiss only to climb on top of Logan, straddling him. Then he leant down again and kissed the right corner of his mouth, then the left, and then a third kiss right on his lips. Logan couldn't help it, he let a giggle escape him when Virgil had pulled back again. Logan threw his arms over his face, hiding his blush and trying to will his racing heart to slow down a bit. It was ridiculous that Virgil could still affect him like this, ridiculous. Not that Logan really minded.

"Stop hiding. I'm not done kissing you yet." Virgil said and Logan didn't try to resist when Virgil pushed his arms away and brought his lips down to his again, their lips brushing softly in an almost-kiss before Virgil pressed his lips to Logan's.

His hands were both in Logan's hair now and Logan had one hand cupping his cheek, the other on his waist, trying to keep Virgil as close as possible. It wasn't anything too rushed, the kiss they shared. It was slow, careful, and Virgil's lips were so soft against Logan's.

They broke apart for a few seconds, breathing that little bit heavier. Logan could feel his heart racing, and Virgil most likely could too since he now had a hand resting on his bare chest. Breathing was nothing that seemed too important to them at the moment, and Virgil soon captured his lips again.

They ended up staying on the beach for longer than either of them had intended, but neither of them minded. Logan didn't know what could be a better way to spend their time than to kiss his husband in the sunshine.
