Part 2
I trailed behind Bone, keeping my distance to a few tail lengths. I nearly crashed into his rump when he stopped and I quickly scrambled back. ''This here, is the training hollow. Go on and stand in the middle for me.'' I nervously stepped into the middle of the clearing, it was sandy with trees bordering the circle, the sand looked a little stained, looked sort of like dry blood. I could feel my heart thudding in my chest as I waited, Bone finally spoke again. ''Now. I want you to jump at me, attack me, don't hold back! I need to really see your strength.'' I flung myself at him, trying to dislodge his paws and throw him off balance but he was far too heavy for me. He barely had to twitch to send me flying off with an 'oof'.
''WHAT WAS THAT!? You didn't even unsheathe your claws! You pathetic kit!'' He hissed furiously. I flattened my ears and words tumbled from my mouth in a high mewl, ''Well we were just training and you know, we shouldn't hurt each other or anyth---OW!'' I was cut off by a sting in my ear where Bone had struck me.
''That's enough training for today, Scourge will not be pleased with you, you know.'' The walk back to camp was silent and awkward, my ear felt like it was on fire but I knew better than to complain. He steered me to the apprentices' den and shoved me inside, flicking his tail to an empty nest before stalking off. It was dusk and I could see my brothers curled up in soft moss, snoring softly. Upon coming closer to my nest, I realized it wasn't made of moss, but instead, damp grass. Absolutely wonderful. I thought bitterly and curled up anyways.
I opened my eyes and jumped up, my nest was gone, my den was gone. All I could see was lush forest around me. It was oddly silent, no birds or anything despite being full daylight. I walked forward a couple steps, the silence started turning into odd, incoherent whispering of many cats all at once. It got louder and louder. A faint shape was in front of me, like the forest was slightly blurred and glowing. My eyes widened, this was a cat made from starlight! Like the stories of starclan from the old clans! Her voice was the faintest of whispers, hard to make out over the overwhelmingly loud murmurs around me. "The venom of a single snake is all it takes to change a clan forever''
Her words echoed in my mind and my vision went black. I was dragged from my sleep by a paw prodding me in the ribs. "Wake up, it's time to train.''
