LILITH woke up in her bed and immediately felt the slight soreness in her gums. She walked into her en-suite bathroom and opened her mouth in front of the mirror to see two sharp fang-like teeth like her brothers. She shrugged before getting ready for breakfast.

She exited her room and waltzed into the dining room to see her brother, Elsa and Issac already at the table eating. She sat quietly and took a roll from the basket in front of her.

"Did you sleep well, Lilith?" Elsa asked Lilith simply nodded not wanting her and Issac to see her teeth. They looked at her questioningly.

"Don't mind her, she's getting in the zone," Jackson said quickly and Lilith nodded again. They eat in silence and after Elsa escorted the two tributes to a helicarrier.

Jackson nodded at his sister and she nodded back. The doors closed and the tributes in front of her looked nervous as people went around injecting chips into them. The helicarrier finally landed after a few minutes and they were escorted by peacemakers to a room.

Lilith paced, not in worry but in anticipation to get the games over with. Leto entered and smiled at her.

"Hey, Lilith. How are the teeth?" Lilith looked at her shocked. "Jackson told me." Leto blushed slightly as Lilith raised her eyebrows.

"Sharp and kind of sore, but it's fine," Lilith replied. The gamemakers had announced yesterday that they were bored. Each tribute was to be given an orange bag to take along with their outfit, which was a tracksuit that was waterproof, fireproof, windproof, and would not conduct electricity. They wanted to change it up a bit.

An announcement rang saying that the tributes had to enter a cylinder tube. Leto bid Lilith farewell as she entered the tube. Lilith slowly was being lifted and she came up onto a silver platform.

She surveyed the area to see a lush grassy forest and Lilith thought about what the gamemakers had truly changed. It wasn't much.

'10' Lilith could see the cornucopia with bags sitting around it.

'5' The district 9 boy opened his orange bag and it exploded, causing him to die. The other tributes looked shocked and took of their bag. Lilith went to do the same but saw a small glowing orange twelve before putting it back on.

'1' A horn sounded and the tributes ran to the cornucopia.

Lilith snatched up one of the bags and looked around for any weapons only to find there was none. She groaned in annoyance and ran in the direction of her allies.

"Where're all the weapons," Cassandra asked.

"There are none," Lilith revealed, by now all the other tributes had run off into the woods, "The gamemakers are playing with us."

The district 1 boy, Royce, looked closely at her, "What happened to your teeth?"

"Nothing. Let's go," Lilith lied and started trudging off into the woods and the career pack followed her.

Cassandra and Royce had started a fire whilst Orion, Calista and Lilith rifled through their gathered packs.

They gathered the food they had gotten, cooked it over the fire and ate in silence. The sun had gone down ages ago and it was now pitch black. The anthem played and only the boy who had gotten blown up's face showed.

Lilith noticed an extra sign in the top corner of the screen, it was a small water droplet. She sighed and rose from her spot.

"Where are you going?" Calista asked as Lilith took the pack she was given and the pack she had gotten at the cornucopia.

"I'm climbing a tree," Lilith replied.

"Why?" Cassandra asked.

"Because I'll sleep better in a tree than on the dirty ground Cassandra," Lilith snapped as she climbed.

Lilith rested on a branch and closed her eyes. She could hear the chattering of the careers below her and a little while later a few of them followed her and decided to sleep in a tree. Lilith dozed off to the crackling of the fire.

☾☾☾☾☾☾

The sun started to rise and Lilith with it. She mentally kicked herself for falling asleep. She went to get down but stopped short.

She blinked in shock and looked around. The arena had changed completely. No longer was it a grassy forest; it was now a deep blue ocean. Lilith gritted her teeth in anger and carefully reached for her packs. She could see the cornucopia was on a tiny dry island from where she was perched.

She looked over and saw Royce, Calista, Cassandra and Orion sleeping peacefully.

She enacted her plan. The water had made it slightly difficult but it wasn't deep. She kept her pack on the tree and slipped down into the water.

Wading quietly she reached the tree where Royce and Calista slept. She covered Calista's mouth and pulled her off the tree, careful not to wake Royce in the process. The female career struggled in her hold under water but Lilith made sure to hold tightly.

Eventually the girl's body went limp in the water and Lilith released her.

She tried to do the same to Royce.

Key word tried.

Royce was a well built male. He was one of the older tributes and had more experience.

As soon as Lilith grabbed him he put up a fight. He thrashed in her arms before throwing her against the tree.

She coughed as the wind was knocked from her.

She slipped back into the water and pretended that she was dead. Royce waded towards her and she internally smirked.

She quickly grabbed his head and smashed it into the tree repeatedly. She sighed as blood trickled from his head and he went limp.

She looked at the two floating bodies before turning. She heard Calista's canon go off while she was fighting Royce and his just erupted.

Cassandra and Orion had woken by then and they were panicking slightly.

"What the hell?" Orion asked. Lilith put on her best fake act.

"They tried to kill me in my sleep. Clearly they didn't succeed."

"The cornucopia is on that island. We have to swim there."

The two others dropped into the water and they started swimming. When Lilith finally dragged her body up onto the sand she saw metal glinting in the sunlight and she laughed.

She willed herself to her feet and she grabbed the first weapon she came across. She twisted the butterfly knife in her hand before slipping it into her boot. Cassandra and Orion were looking around for their specific weapons as well.

Lilith was suddenly tackled to the ground and large calloused hands wrapped around her throat. Lilith saw the district 3 boy above her.

His hands squeezed her throat and she turned red.

Despite her situation, Lilith only chuckled her sharp teeth on display. The boy's face showed shock and his grip loosened. Lilith took her chance, flipped them over bringing her face to his neck and ripping his throat out with her new teeth. She came up with blood around her mouth.

She took one of the knives off the ground and grabbed the boys head carving a capital 'V' into his skull. A canon boomed.

She saw a camera on the cornucopia and she waved before wiping off some of the blood on her mouth and licking it.

Cassandra and Orion, who had been watching since they heard the dead male scream, watched her in horror.

She looked around for her katana but saw the district 11 girl picking it up. Lilith stalked behind her and snapped her neck swiftly and did the same thing she did to the district 3 boy after she killed him.

Carving her mark in her head.

Another canon.

It was music to her ears.

Another boy stood in front of her and he withdrew his sword. Lilith snatched up her katana quickly. Adrenaline pumped as she took a fighting stance adjusting the sword in her hand.

They circled each until he lunged at her and Lilith spun to avoid his blade. She cut his arm and blood spewed from the wound.

She advanced to collide her sword with his body. He blocked. The sounds of metal clashing echoed. He kicked her back and she fell.

She rolled to her knees and brought her sword up in time to block one of his attacks. "You're dead," he growled.

She stared up at him before gripping the end of his sword with her bare hands and blood trickled down her arm.

Lilith pushed upon his sword causing him to stumble back allowing her to get up.

He kicked at the back of her knees and she ended up on her knees again.

Lilith raised her sword, he blocked and punched her in the face.

He kicked the katana from her hands and it landed out of reach of Lilith's hands.

She slammed her elbow into his kneecap, he grunted in pain as he crumbled. Getting up she kicked him in the jaw.

She grabbed his sword which he had dropped and hers and twirled them in her hands.

He quickly picked up a spear and thrashed at her. She sidestepped his movements and charged at him with multiple attacks.

He kicked at her chest and she staggered before falling. He circled her and raised his spear bringing it down.

Lilith twisted and knocked the spear out of his hands.

She grabbed it and brought it down into his heart swiftly.

He choked on his own blood whilst Lilith carved her 'V' into his head as his cannon echoed. The bitter taste of sweat infiltrated Lilith's mouth as it dripped down her face. Cassandra and Orion found her on the other side of the tiny island. Blood splattered all over their clothes.

"What happened to you guys?"

"District 4 girl. District 7 boy. District 6 boy and District 6 girl. They all came after us. We killed them," Orion said. Lilith looked around and she pointed to one thing out on the water.

"Is that a lifeboat?"

"Yeah, it is," Cassandra replied. They looked out just in time to see one person on the boat push two others off and those people getting devoured by Capitol mutts.

"Brutal," Orion commented. There were now only 12 people in the games. Three people drowned in the water. Lilith had killed 5 so far and the careers had killed four.

It was once again night and the vast sea reflected the fake arena sky that shimmered with panels.

The Capitol anthem shinned and the faces of the dead tributes showed in the sky. Next to their faces was a small flame. Lilith sighed in anger and exhaustion before laying back and closing her eyes.
