Chapter 45: HYDRA Supreme
Chapter 45: HYDRA Supreme
*Jade's POV*
*5 Days Later*
"Get up and do it yourself!"
"But you're right there!" Peter whines from the couch. I take a chomp out of the apple, still standing in the kitchen.
"What are you two going on about?" Steve asks coming out of the hallway. We're getting ready to watch Supernatural.
"I asked Jade to get me sunflower seeds, but she won't." Peter complains.
"Because they're on the top shelf of the cupboard and Peter knows I can't reach them, so he just wants to see me struggle." I retort, standing next to Steve. Steve looks in between us before walking to the cupboard, grabbing the bag and a small bowl to spit the seeds in.
"Dude! Come on, it's adorable seeing Jade try to get something up high." Peter says as Steve and I join him on the couch. I push his head, sticking out my tongue before sitting next to Steve. Steve chuckles as Peter starts up Supernatural. We're a couple episodes into season 5. Not long after we start Castiel has just now called Dean asking for his amulet, Natasha walks in from the elevator.
"New mission alert." I see Steve reluctantly stand up, Peter pausing the show and joining him. Steve holds his hand out to me.
"Are you sure?" I ask. I mean, look how my last mission went.
"Positive. You're a member of the team." Steve reassures me. I smile, taking his hand and placing my apple core in the bowl Peter was spitting seeds in. We walk to the elevator, joining Peter and Natasha. Natasha presses the 86th floor button and the lift opens to Bruce's lab. Everyone else is already there waiting. I don't realize it, and I don't think anyone else did – thank God – but I was still holding Steve's hand. I let go and walk to the medical counter I've become all too familiar with and push myself up to sit on it.
"Alright Romanoff, what's the big news." Tony asks.
"Edgar Lascombe." Natasha says simply. She presses a couple things on a tablet and the room ignites with a holographic file in the middle of everyone. "One of the leading supreme's of HYDRA." Natasha continues. I take a deep breath, hoping it hides how unnerving that is to me. My eyes meet with Steve's and I immediately can tell he sees right through it. Probably because he feels the same way. "He came into this role several months ago when Wolfgang von Strucker went off the grid. But luckily for us Lascombe is a bit more flamboyant." A picture of a man in a white suit at a high end restaurant shines in front of us. He has styled brown hair that is greying on the sides and is surrounded by a group of equally important looking people and several skimpy women. "Lascombe will be attending a play at Lincoln Center tonight, and after the show there will be a gala. This mission will just be to get some intel for a follow up mission."
"Okay, who's it for?" Bruce asks.
"That's what we have to decide." Natasha answers.
"You and Clint. Lunch anyone?" Tony says. I smirk at his response as Natasha continues.
"Well normally, but Lascombe actually has a thing for blondes." Everyone turns to look at me and my eyes widen. I clear my throat, hopping off the counter.
"Well," I say taking a step towards Clint. "Steve, Clint, Thor, I wish you the best of luck." I say patting Clint on the shoulder and turning towards the door. I'm almost there, but Thor sticks his arm out in front of me, wraps it around my waits and physically picks me up, placing me in front of him, facing everyone else.
"I don't believe Natasha was suggesting us Jade." He says.
"Big guy like you? Nah I'm sure you're exactly Lascombe's type." I say looking at the picture of Lascombe with a petite blonde on his lap.
"I know Thor is a lot of people's types, but Fury wants to see your undercover work." Natasha says. I take a deep breath and step closer to her.
"Okay, send me the info."
She presses several more things saying, "Clint you'll be going with her."
"Why?" Peter asks.
"We aren't going to send her there alone and he'd recognize Steve, Tony and Thor. Bruce is terrible undercover and Peter, you're too young." Natasha explains, still looking at the tablet.
"Well at least I have a hot date." Clint says. I smile at him, silently thanking him for easing the tension, and cross my arms before looking back at Natasha.
"So what exactly am I doing?" I ask.
"Get close to him. You need to get incited to a masquerade he's hosing on Halloween." Natasha explains.
"Why?" I ask.
"We need concrete information on him and HYDRA. Would you say there might be something in his house? Well mansion." I nod in agreement. "Okay, you two," She says pointing to Clint and I, "Need to be ready by 8." I look to a clock. Okay, it's 3 now, plenty of time to go over his file and get gussied up. I haven't been on an undercover mission in almost 2 years.
"That it then? Cause I left Pepper in the workshop." Tony says. Natasha nods and we all file out of Bruce's lab, Bruce, Natasha and Clint staying behind.
"Excited?" Steve asks behind me. I stop, turning to face him, the elevator with Tony, Peter and Thor closing.
"I suppose." I haven't done a mission like this in a while though, so I a feeling I'll be a little rusty." I admit.
"I'm sure you'll do fine." Steve reassures me. "Just, be careful." He says as we wait for another elevator.
I smile up at him. "I will. Besides, Clint will be with me." I reassure him.
"I know, but it is HYDRA." Steve stresses. We step into the elevator.
"Steve, I promise, I'll be safe."
*4 ½ hours later*
I walk out of the closet, the black dress Becca made me get on and untied my shoes in hand. I drop my shoes by my bed and pick up my phone, tossing it in a small black, studded clutch.
*Knock, knock, knock*
I turn and see my door creaking open slightly, Pepper peaking inside.
"Hey." I say. She opens the door fully and walking in with Natasha.
"Need any help getting ready?" Pepper asks.
"Not really, I'm almost done." I say.
Pepper and Natasha exchange a glance before looking back to me. "Come on, we're helping you." Natasha says taking my arm and pulling me to the bathroom.
"I think I'm good." I complain, pulling away from her.
"Oh come on Jade, it'll be fun." Pepper urges.
"But I'm already ready." I retort, my hands on my hips.
"Jade, you're an agent, and as your superior, I demand you get back in that bathroom." Natasha says. I have to catch myself from bursting out laughing.
"Really? You're going with that?" I say with a chuckle. Natasha rolls her eyes.
"Please Jade." Pepper says looking at me with the biggest puppy eyes ever. She might actually surpass Peter.
"Okay, but only to get you off my back." I say. "I'll honor your damn puppy dog eyes. I walk to the bathroom with them and the word honor seems to be sticking out in my head. In fact... "Hey Jarvis?" I say as they sit me down.
"Yes Jade?"
"Must I even say it?" I answer.
"I was wondering when you were going to do it." He responds. Seconds later Honor To Us All from Mulan begins to play. What? I had no choice.
This is what you give me to work with? Well honey, I've seen worse. The song says as Natasha puts some blush on my. She rolls her eyes again, while Pepper pins back my bangs. We're going to turn this sow's ear into a silk purse. We'll have you washed and dried, primped and polished till you glow with pride. Trust my recipe for instant bride, you'll bring honor to us all. They both attack my face with brushes and tools I'm not sure what. I do manage to stand when Pepper tries to put more gunk on me and leave the bathroom. Wait and see, when we're through, boys will gladly go to war for you. With good fortune and a great hairdo, you'll bring honor to us all. Pepper wasn't helping herself by trying to fix my hair as I grabbed my shoes and clutch. A girl can bring her family great honor in one way. By striking a good match and this could be that day. I manage to escape the two, stepping in the hall, where apparently the song was playing too. Men want girls with good taste. Calm, obedient, who work face pace. I use gestures and expressions to make fun of the lyrics, which are totally untrue and throw my things on the couch. Luckily for me, everyone is here. With good breeding and a tiny waist. Pepper comes around me trying to add a belt, making me gasp. Really guys, not helping yourself here. You'll bring honor to us all.
I look down at the gaudy piece and say, "Noooo. Nope." I take it off, tossing the horrid thing aside. We all must serve out emperor who guards us form the Huns. A man by bearing arms. A girl by bearing sons. They continue trying to "fix" me, chuckles in the background. When we're through, you can't fail. Like a lotus blossom, soft and pale. How could any fellow say, 'No sale?' You'll bring honor to us all.
"Okay, I think that's it." Pepper says.
"Not yet."
Oh come on.
There, you're ready. Not yet.
Natasha pulls out a necklace. I assume she already planned on giving me. An apple for serenity, a pendant for balance. She takes a step back after putting it o and I just can't resist. Beads of jade for beauty. I smirk and step on my toes, turning in front of Pepper and Natasha. You must proudly show it. Now add a cricket just for luck and even you can't blow it. I see Pepper about to go in and do something else to me, but I dodge her.
"Ancestors, hear my plea. Help me not to make a fool of me and to not uproot my family tree. Keep my father standing tall." I sing over dramatic of course, prancing away from Pepper and ending on the coffee table, hands on hips.
Scarier than the undertaker, we are meeting our match maker. I jump down from the table, continuing to tease Pepper and Natasha.
"Destiny, guard our girls and our future as it fast unfurls. Please look kindly on these cultured pearls, each a perfect porcelain doll." I dance around everyone, away from Nat and Pepper as I'm sure I've messed up my hair or something stupid like that. Please bring honor to us repeats and in the bustle of it all, I grab my shoes and clutch and Clint, who was fixing his tie in the blurry reflection on the fridge and head to the elevator. As the song ends, the doors close and I twinkle my fingers in a wave at Natasha and Pepper. The doors seal and Clint release a laugh as I slip on my shoes, using him for balance.
"What?" I ask.
"Was all that necessary?"
"I got my point across, didn't I?" He chuckles again, putting his hands in his pockets as we ride the lift down.
***
I hold up my phone to the bouncer, showing him the tickets for the play, proving that we can be here tonight.
"Right this way Ms. Thomas." He says holding a door open for Clint and I. I flash the bouncer a smile and Clint nods to him. Clint guides me to a corner of the room, making sure no one's watching.
"Here." He says handing me a small earpiece as he puts his own on. "Be careful." He says walking away.
"I will." I whisper, taking a deep breath before scanning the room for one Mr. Lascombe. Right when I'm about to start wondering and broaden my search I see a man with brown-greying hair, combed back, in a black suit with a cigar hanging out of his mouth at the bar. I straighten my dress out before walking over to him. I reach the bar, clearing my throat to the bar tender.
"Glass of Bushmills, please." I read in his file that Lascombe loves and old whiskey, and he's got good taste, I'll give him that. Irish Bushmill is the oldest distillery in the world. Out of the corner of my eye I see Lascombe's head turn in interest. The bartender returns with my drink and I nod a thank you to him before taking a sip. Man, I love open bars. And ooooo... Haven't had something this good in a while. I set the glass down. Leaning against the bar, aimlessly staring, trying to look innocent.
"That's a rough drink," I hear next to me. I turn my head, raising and eyebrow and low and behold, Edgar Lascombe. "For such a little thing like you." He finishes.
"I can handle it." I respond, turning away from him, pretending not to be interested.
"Anything to drink Mr. Lascombe?" The bartender asks.
"I'll have what Ms..." He says, pausing.
I look back to him and say, "Thomas."
"Ms. Thomas. What she ordered please." He finishes. The bartender fetches the drink and promptly brings it back. "So Ms. Thomas, what did you think of the play?" He asks after taking a sip.
"Wonderful, and please call me Julia."
"Edgar." He responds. I shake his hand and take another sip from my drink. "I thought the lead actress as a little shy with her part." Lascombe says. The play that was going on was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The lead, Brick, is an untrusting alcoholic and goes off on several tangents throughout the play. The role he's talking about is Brick's wife, "Cat", who is more boisterous for a women in the 50's.
"I can agree with that, but Tennessee Williams is a difficult playwright." I say.
You need to get that invite. Talking about the play isn't going to do that. Clint says through my earpiece. I quickly try to think of a way to make him want me at that masquerade. I look over Lascombe's shoulder and see Clint with his own drink, a martini (how spy of him) looking over at us. I must have stared too long because Lascombe checks over his shoulder and sees Clint.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were here with someone." Lascombe sipping his drink and walking away. I glare at Clint for distracting me. I down the rest of my drink leaving the glass at the bar watching Lascombe's retreating figure. I walk over to Clint, trying not to scowl.
"I thought you've done this before." He says quietly, taking a sip of his martini.
"Yeah, but not in two years. I'm a tad rusty." I say. I look around the room, checking for Lascombe. I look over and see him sitting on a couch surrounded by people. He's got his glass in hand and seems to be glaring at Clint.
"So what's the plan now?" He asks looking down at me.
"Don't worry, I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve." I say turning back to him. Ugh, even in heels he still has several inches to me. I look up at him and say, "How far have you gone for a mission like this?"
"Pretty far, why?"
"Because the only way a guy like Lascombe will invite me to that masquerade is if I'm like a girl over there." I say. I take a quick glance back to Lascombe and see he's getting bored, so before Clint can say anything, I reach up to him and pull him down into a kiss, my other hand resting on his chest. I can tell Clint is shocked, but he quickly realizes my plan to make Lascombe jealous. He turns his head, deepening the kiss, his free arm snaking around my waist and pulling me closer to him, his hand resting on my back. At his hand touching my bare back, a shiver is sent down my spice, but I keep kissing him. After several more seconds though, I need air. We pull away from each other, Clint still pressing me to him. I catch a glance of Lascombe. He looks... angry. Like I disobeyed him or something. Looks like my plan worked. As an extra touch, I pull Clint down to me again, but this time I whisper in his ear. "Lascombe is coming over here. Go find another girl." This whole encounter needs to look like Clint and I are in an "open relationship." I kiss Clint's ear, his arm and fingers trailing on me as he turns and walks away. I turn to see Lascombe standing from his group of people. I walk back to the bar leaning against it and wait. A couple minutes pass and I feel an arm wrap around me and a husky voice speak in my ear.
"If I had known you were so vivacious, my dear, I would have stayed." I giggle, turning, Lascombe's arm still around me. His other hand brushes my hair behind my ear, resting on my neck and his thumb gliding over my cheek.
"You never gave me the chance." I say, my hands resting on his chest. I actually realize then that I no longer have my clutch. Clint must have taken it. That, or I lost it... My thoughts are broken when Lascombe tightens his grip around me, pulling me closer to him. I slide my hands up to his neck, his face and chin slightly scruffy. Before I blow this again, I lean up to him and place a kiss on his lips. It's simple, but with a guy like Lascombe, he'll want control, so I have to be timid with my approach. He grins down at me, as if he's proud or happy that I know he's in charge. He gently kisses me again before trailing kisses under my jaw and then to my ear. Normally, something like neck kisses would cause me to shiver or gasp, but on missions, I'm a different person. I'm Viper and nothing gets to me. That's why when Lascombe slides his hands down my sides and to my ass, I only feign a gasp. He chuckles in my ear, his stubble scratching my cheek. Thank God Clint shaved, I don't think I could have taken to hairy guys on me.
"I like you very much Julia." He growls.
"I like you too Edgar." I reply. He looks back at me, but not for long before he captures my lips, hungrily and roughly kissing me. I reply just as curtly as he pushes my body to the bar. One of his hands travels back down to my ass and I internally roll my eyes as he pulls me impossibly closer to him.
"Edgar! Edgar Lascombe!" He breaks the kiss, reluctantly, as some miscellaneous stranger calls him. He looks to his right and nods before looking back down at me.
"My apologies love." Ewwwww, he called me love. That's only for Luc! "But I have to go." Er, um, I mean... that's for no one... "But I know how to make it up to you." This snaps me out of my stupor.
"I doubt that." I pout, looking up at him. My arms still around his neck, I play with his hair, causing him to grin.
"I'm having a little Halloween shin-dig and I'd like you to come." He says, reaching into his coat and pulling out a business card. When he hands it to me though, I see it's an invitation to the masquerade. Mission, easily, accomplished. "I'll see you then." He says giving me a wink.
"Edgar wait." I call as he begins walking away. He turns and I grab his jacket, pulling him into one last kiss. "Until we meet again." I say biting my lip. I give him a wink of my own before turning away. I walk into the crowd, making sure he can no longer see me before saying under my breath, "Okie doke, let's get out of here." I side step a dancing couple and actually bump into Clint. He's clearly been talking up the girl he's with, but I could care less. I've done what I came here for, now I'd like to leave. "Oh honey! I was just looking for you!" I say, looping my arm around Clint's. I can tell the women is offended and is about and is about to throw her drink, but luckily she's standing on a slightly wrinkled throw carpet. Before she has a chance, I step on the rug and pull it, straightening it. She stumbles and pours her drink all over herself. She huffs in defeat and walks away.
"Am I the proud witness of jealous Jade?" Clint mumbles in my ear, making sure no one hears.
"No, I just want to leave."
"Did you-" He starts, but I cut him off, holding up the card Lascombe gave me in between my index and middle finger. He takes it, examining it before putting it in his coat pocket. "Oh and here's this." He says handing me my clutch. I take it from him as he places a hand on the small of my back, guiding me through the crowd and to the exit.
"Leaving so soon Ms. Thomas?" The bouncer asks. I'm still undercover, so might as well have some fun with it. I stumble slightly into the man, him catching me.
"You bet ya, sugar." I slur with a giggle and booping his nose.
"One too many drinks, eh?" He asks Clint.
"Yeah she's always been a lightweight." Clint says coolly. That could not be more untrue.
He comes from behind me and upon seeing him, I squeal "Baby!" and flop myself into his arms giving him a sloppy kiss on the cheek.
"Alright, Julie, let's get you home." He says smiling down at me.
"Okaaaay." I chortle. He wraps an arm around my waist, supporting me as I cling to his torso, my head resting on his shoulder.
"You two have a good night." The bouncer says.
"Thanks, you too!" Clint shouts back.
"Byeeee Mr. Man!" I shout as well. I hear him chuckle as Clint and I walk down the street. Once round the corner though, we both separate, giving each other respective space.
"So, not that that wasn't entertaining, but what was that?" Clint asks with a laugh.
I give a laugh of my own, saying, "Well I figured I could have some fun with this before we left. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if that guy works for Lascombe, why do you think he knew my 'name'," I use air quotes around name, "and, I mean, come on, who wants to deal with a drunk girl?"
"Impressive." He says applauding me.
As we continue down the street, a gust of wind blows by, my hair flying all over and sending a chill down my bare back. This dress might be cute, but is terrible for a stroll during a New York autumn evening. My teeth chattering ceases as a warm cloth is place around me. I look up and see Clint placing his suit jacket around my shoulders.
"Oh Clint, I coul-"
"Jade come on, you're freezing." He says putting his hands in his pockets. He gives a shrug, continuing. "I'm fine. Plus we aren't too far from the tower."
"Thank you." I say quietly, slipping my arms into the sleeves, the bottom of the jacket almost as long as the dress. Several minutes later, Clint sticking to his word, we arrive back at the tower. We ride the elevator up in silence, hat is until my yawn breaks it. "What time is it?" I ask towards the end of it.
"20 till midnight." Clint says checking his phone.
"Oh goodness, we were out that long?" I ask with another yawn.
He chuckles and says, "Yeah, we were."
"Oh well, then goodnight." I say, giving him a salute as I exit the elevator. I release another yawn as I stretch, turning down the hallway.
"So how'd it go?" A male voice says. I shriek, thinking I was alone, my shoes falling with a clatter on the floor.
"Sorry!" Steve says coming around the couch. "Did I scare you?" He asks bending down to pick up my shoes.
"What? No of course not!" I say taking my shoes from him. His response is a cheeky smirk. I scowl, rolling my eyes and turning on my heel, but he stops me.
"Wait, how'd it go?" He repeats.
"Fine." I answer facing him.
"Is that Clint's jacket?"
"What?" I look down at my arms and see they're still clothed in Clint's suit jacket. Oopps... Meant to give this back to him...
"I think he'll survive a night without it." Steve chuckles.
"Um, yeah." I agree, brushing over my thinking aloud.
"Did you get the invite?" Steve asks.
I shimmied the sleeve up as I open Clint's jacket and grab the card Lascombe gave me. "Mission accomplished chief." I say handing it to Steve. He examines it before returning it to me.
"Nice work Jade. How'd you do it?"
"Well Lascombe does like blondes. You probably could have done it if you weren't such a virgin." I answer.
"Wh-y-you... You two... Did y-you..." He stutters.
"Fondue?" I tease, laughing at how adorably innocent he is. He clears his throat, his cheeks and ears growing red. "No. Heated make out session in a room full of people, sure. But I don't plan on doing more than that with Edgar Lascombe." I finish.
"Oh, well... good job then." Steve says with a nod, walking around me and down the hall. Wait, what? That's it? We're done talking? What did I say? Oh come on, I was enjoying the conversation!
"Steve!" I call turning around and taking several steps towards him as he opens his door. Wait, why did I call him? "Um... could you get my dress for me?" I say, slipping off Clint's jacket and turning around. I hear him take a step towards me and feel his worn hands brush across my shoulder blades and push my hair aside as he unties the back of my dress. I feel the dress loosen and the ribbons drape and cascade down my back.
"What's this?" Steve asks. What's what? Is there something on my neck? Oh damnit! Did Lascombe give me a hickey?! I hear the smile in his voice as Steve says, "No, your tattoo." My hand flies to the back of my neck as his thumb brushes over it. ON the back of my neck is a sunbird in white ink. It's kinda hard to see and the collar of a shirt or my hair usually covers it. Steve's hands stay on my shoulders, one still brushing over the tattoo and my hand resting on his.
"Oh yeah. I got it a little over 4 months ago." I say.
"I like it, simple." He responds. I smile.
"Captain America, like a tattoo? Who'd have thought?"
"Yeah, Captain America..." He says in a sigh, his breath hitting my neck. "I like all your tattoos."
"You haven't seen all my tattoos." I counter.
"I don't need to. They're all meaningful to you. They identify you. That's good enough for me." He slides his hands down my arms and away. I turn to see him walking towards his door. "Goodnight Jade."
"Night, Steve." I respond as he closes it. I hold Clint's jacket, my heels, and my clutch as I stand in the hallway. Why do I feel as if that ended badly? What? No, what do I care? I shake my head, blinking and taking a deep breath. Alright Sawyer it's been a long night. What you need now is sleep. I walk in my room, close the door and place everything on my bed. I quickly change into sweats and a t-shirt, leaving the dress and shoes in my closet as well as washing my face and brushing hair and teeth. I place Clint's jacket on the couch and grab my phone, leaving the clutch on the nightstand. I sit down on my bed and unlock my phone. 6 missed calls from Luc. 11 texts. Wait, what? Why is he- fuck. Dinner! We were supposed to have another date! Oh my God! I have to call him back. Wait – can I call him back? It's midnight. Oh, what do I care? Okay, wait, check the messages first.
I know that I already called, but just making sure we're still on.
So you're not picking up...
Jade, please answer.
I'm just going to head to your apartment.
And now you're not answering the door...
Was it something I said, or did? Please Jade.
If you really don't want to continue things between us, then fine. Although that's not the message I got... But please, at least tell me you're okay.
Jade, you're giving me half a mind to break down your door.
JAAAADDE
Please, my love, you have to at least tell me you aren't dying in a ditch somewhere or that you aren't shagging some other asshole.
That last one was sent 53 minutes ago. Okay, yeah, I need to call him. I stand up, pressing the phone to my ear as it dials. It rings twice before a very tired sound Luc answers.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Luc?" I say timidly. If circumstances were different his tired, husky voice would be adorable right now.
"Jade! Oh thank that lord! Are you alright, where have you be-"
"I'm perfectly well. I'm sorry for causing you to worry." I cut off Luc's frantic speaking.
"AS long as you're okay. Em, I'm outside your apartment, would you mind letting me in?"
"Oh, I'm not actually home. I, erm, had a last minute show! Yeah, yeah, in Brooklyn. Sorry."
"Oh well Jade, that's great!"
"Yeah, uh, how long were you outside my apartment?"
"Well since I dozed off, a little over 4 hours."
"Oh my God Luc! I am so sorry!"
"Jade it's fine, I was asleep for half of it anyway."
"Alright, since it's so late, and I'm such an ass for spacing on this, please spend tonight at mine."
"Jade, you're not an ass, you were working, I understand. But I can't sta-"
"Come on, I know you can pick a lock and I promise my bed is more comfortable than the floor. Please Luc, I insist. I wouldn't catch a wink tonight if I knew you went through so much trouble and then had to go all the way back home."
"... Alright."
"Lovely, make sure Collin doesn't see you."
"Who's Collin?" Aw, I can hear the jealousy in his voice.
"My neighbor."
"Oh..." ... "Okay, I'm in."
"Hey! Who are you?" I hear a second voice on Luc's end.
"Oh, I'm Jade's friend, here you can talk to her. You must be Collin."
"Jade?"
"Collin?"
"Did you know that there's a guy going into your apartment?"
"Yes, that's Luc. He's spending the night."
"Okay... Sorry man, just keeping an eye out for Jade."
"I appreciate it, thank you."
"Okay, Luc, please get some rest and I'll let you know when I'm back in town."
"Thank you love."
"Mhm, goodnight."
"Goodnight."
I hang up and fall back on my bed, groaning. I plug my phone in and crawl under the covers, completely done with this day.
"Jarvis, play something soothing."
"Yes Jade."
The voice of John Lennon beings to ring through my room; You've Got to Hide Your Love Away by The Beatles playing.
"Perfect." I mumble before falling asleep.
A/N: Hi everyone! Here's another chapter and a long one at that. I'm gonna keep this short, cause I've been writing all day and am almost out of fuel.
Okay so video attached is obviously Honor to Us All from Mulan. I know, I know I already did a song from Mulan, but it's a kickass movie. Did y'all like that little bit? I know I've been itching to write that and I'm pumped it's finally out! This and the next few chapters are ones I've been anticipating for soooo long now. Like since the very beginning. What do you guys think of Lascombe and that whole interaction? Oooo and what about Luc? So many questions!
Real quick though, is anyone a Beatles fan? I'm kinda going through my own personal Beatlmania, hence the song at the end. But it fits perfectly!
Okay, I believe that's all. Hope you all enjoyed, I will do my best to get the next chapter out soon! Comment, vote, whatever, I love you all and Happy New Years!
