As the sunlight filtered through the camp, everyone's eyes landed on Flareshade's dead body. Everyone shivered as they backed away and started discussing. 

Starlingfeather hissed in pure disgust. Who would kill someone protecting kits? Only a pure monster.

 Then Blazesripe spoke up. "I'll still be skipping. Even though I abhor anyone who hurts kits, I still don't know who did it. I'm not killing an innocent."

Flowerpaw nodded. "Though... I think... maybe the killer doesn't have blue eyes? It doesn't narrow it down all that much but it's something... I'm skipping too."

"I agree, "Starlingfeather mewed. "This risk of killing an innocent is too high as of right now. I too am skipping. 

Dapplespots sighed as he listened to the three cats voting skip. he wanted to vote someone, but they had a point. What if he was voting someone innocent?

Dappleleaf was a loaf in the corner. Who could it be? She was losing hope that the Clan would be saved, so she skipped.

Owlmoon silently watched the Clan.

"Have you all forgotten the killer is a green-eyed she-cat? Anyways," Badgerpelt shook his head. "We have to vote tonight. We can't keep skipping forever!"

Starlingfeather perked up. "Badgerpelt... now that you say that, I did forget, haha. Anyways, the killer could be Dappleleaf, Ferretbloom, Petalpaw, or Fallowpaw! Badgerpelt, which one of those cats do you think I should vote for?" She asked.

Blazestripe nodded. "Yes, I'd love to hear your advice too." 

Flowerpaw nodded, listening intently.

Dapplelaef twitched her ears nervously. She hated being falsely accused. 

Starlingfeather looked at Dapplleaf. "Hey... don't be nervous. I didn't mean to accuse you. I was just listing off all the she-cats with green eyes I knew. And... em... you happened to be on that list. Anyways, since I'm an impatient type of cat I'm going to keep my vote on skip until I have a good reason to vote otherwise."

"I don't know. I'll have to hear what the others say first. If not, we can always randomly vote," Badgerpelt responded. 

As usual, Fernpaw was a little anxious at the fact that Badgerpelt just suggested to vote randomly. "Right, let's wait for the others."

"Innocent cats are dying left and right, we shouldn't be wasting our time skipping like this!" Smokespine hissed. He continued, "True, we might make a wrong decision if we randomly vote out cats, but if we do we will be one step closer to finding this killer because they can't hide behind the other cats who look like them! I hope my vote will make all of you take action!" Then he shouted, "I vote Ferretbloom!"

Starlingfeather, Blazestripe, and Flowerpaw silently looked at Smokespine, then wordlessly slid their voting stones over to the pile for Ferretbloom.

After hearing Smokespine's speech, Maplerain slid his voting stone over to the pile for Ferretbloom. He just wanted the killer to be caught for this to be over even if it meant potentially sacrificing an innocent cat or two.

"Ferretbloom is going to end up as the majority vote now," Badgerpelt said. "Then I'll vote for her too."

Fernpaw was still unsure but voted for Ferretbloom anyways.

After hearing everyone's discussions, Dawnstar made her way to the rock. Once she was on top of the rock, she opened her mouth and announced gravely, "Ferretbloom. You are the chosen one."

"What? Me?" Ferretbloom gasped, claws unsheathing. 

"Wait..." Dawnstar narrowed her eyes at Ferretbloom. "Why are your claws red?"

Everyone glared at Ferretbloom and gasped when they saw the red tinting her claws. Ferretbloom yelped, "I was eating prey!"

"But you are the one," Dawnstar said softly as she nudged Ferretbloom to her paws. 

Ferretbloom hissed in anger and disgust. "You...!" She whipped her head around and suddenly knocked Dawnstar to the ground, unsheathing her claws.

The other Clanmates gasped and tried to run up to help. Dawnstar grit her teeth in effort and shoved Ferretbloom off her. "You are a traitor!" Dawnstar yowled. "You have revealed that you are the killer of all of those innocent Clanmates!"

Ferretbloom glared into Dawnstar's eyes. "I am the killer! Now I will kill you!" She lunged for Dawnstar.

"Get her!" The other Clanmates yowled in unison as they lunged on top of Ferretbloom, squishing her. 

"Get! Off!" Ferretbloom struggled, but however, she couldn't get up from underneath the bodies of the Clanmates.

Sparkling suddenly caught Dawnstar's eyes. She turned and saw cats made of stars. "Mothflutter! Flareshade! Frogfrost! Sparrowmoon! Rainleaf! Cinnamonkit!" The cats dipped their heads to Dawnstar, and they circled the battered and scarred Ferretbloom. 

"You were the cause of all of this death... Now you will be punished severely." The cats meowed in unison, and they closed in on Ferretbloom. Ferretbloom, who was too tired to fight, disappeared along with the other StarClan cats. 

The remaining Clanmates stood there, gaping at the very spot where the spirit cats once stood. Then they lifted their muzzles to the air and cheered.
