Chapter 62
Claire grinned widely raising the dagger. 'So close'
She gasped as herb wrist was grabbed before she felt a burning pain. Fire! She was on fire!
But it wasn't like anything she felt before. It was burning, her inside out, and every cell in her body felt like it was burning. Building.
Staring into Damon's gold eyes, that were anything but wolf, paired with a pair of white wings, now that knocks it out. "Damn you!" She screamed as she felt herself dissolving. "I, was so close! So-" Before she could say anything else, she burst into ashes.
The clearing fell into silence frozen as they all stared at the whit e wings sprouted from Damon's back. "I wanted to kill her." Violet whined breaking the silence.
"You want to kill everyone." Damon rolled his eyes before a warm body crashed into his back. "You're wings are so soft." Alayna whispered before turning him around to face her slapping him.
"Wings! You never told me you had wings!" She went to slap him again but he caught her hand. "I just found that out a few hours ago."
"So you're an angel?" Violet stated surprised but otherwise unfazed, that angels, which were myths, existed!
"Yup" Damon chuckled rubbing his neck. Violet looked between the two. "That has to do the most perfect and annoying match ever." Alayna grinned looking between her and Damon. "Speak for yourself."
"Violet." Grant called out limping up before gesturing towards a restrained Augustine. "Caught him when he got distracted. So now I can get distracted and say, whoa dude you have wings!"
I watched a crazed Augustine smirk towards Dracula, who looked away scowling. "Dracula." I narrowed my eyes at him. "Why are you so bent on not killing him? Don't give me the balance of the world shit, we all know when you hate someone for that long you kill them without care."
Dracula growled. "I really don't want to-"
"Because he's selfish." Augustine cut him off grinning like a crazed child. "He doesn't want to die." He claimed in a sing along.
Violet's attention snapped towards him. "What does he mean?" She asked looking between both brothers.
"Violet you have to understand-"
"He casted a spell centuries ago, using a soul who's probably long gone right now. He bonded us together. One of us dies, so does the other, isn't that right brother?"
Dracula groaned as I cast a glare in his direction. "You could have told us that sooner." while Augustine smirked in victory. "Now were going to have to be careful when we torture him. You don't feel his injuries do you?" Augustine's smirk disappeared.
"No, but I made him believe that, and he inflicted pain on himself close to a month, before finally figuring out I tricked him." Dracula smirked.
"As fun as this is, the balance is out of control. I can feel and Earthquake coming." Merideth stepped up. "We need to do something about this."
"But what are we going to do. I don't know how we can bring the balance back, neither does my wolf." Alayna said frustrated before Damon put a hand over her shoulder to calm her down. "But I do." Everyone turned to them their attention caught.
"The balance isn't just between the good and bad in the Universe. It's between you two." Violet and Alayna stared at him with a blank face. Damon sighed. "You're both each other's ying and yang, you both balance each other out. But in order to do that, you need to find the balance within yourselves."
"And just how do we do that." Augustine chuckled. "That's the beauty of it you can't. Ever since you betrayed her killing your sister and yourself, the balance had begun to collapse. Imagine all those centuries, fighting each other and yourselves causing more damage to it."
"But I thought we were supposed to fight each other, our destinies after working together to defeat Naberious?" Alayna asked him in confusion.
"It's what the legends say isn't it." Augustine grinned darkly. "Who do you think made them?" Violet narrowed her eyes at him. "No." His grin widened. "Yes."
"You were never supposed to fight each other. You were supposed to stand side by side, ruling and keeping the balance, in yourselves and others. But I guess we all pretty much failed at many things haven't we." Violet growled walking towards him claws ready. "You know what else you're going to fail at? Living you little piece of-"
Alayna grabbed her hand just as she went to strike. "Don't you see? This is what he wants." She brought her sister back turning towards here mate.
"How do we do it?" He looked at her sadly his wings flexing. "That's something you'll have to figure out yourselves."
-------------------------------
Everyone stood around the twins as they sat in the middle of the clearing facing each other.
"So what do we do now?" Violet asked while Alayna shrugged.
"I don't know confess our sins?" She looked pointedly at Violet while Violet scoffed. "Figures." Alayna frowned. "What?"
"It figures you always think you're the innocent one that hasn't done anything wrong. Only one person to blame, me." Violet shrugged while Alayna's face twisted in shock. "That is not true!"
"Yes it is. You want me to confess my sins? Fine!" Violet growled standing up.
"I lie, I manipulate, I kill, I torture, and I destroy lives. Am I missing anything? Oh yes At least I can admit what I've done instead of trying, to cover it up and act all high and mighty!"
"You already do act high and mighty!" Alayna surprised her by yelling back. Both were oblivious of the Earth quake and storm happening around them from their rising power and crumbling balance.
"You think everything is about you and always try to get attention throwing your tantrums and going on killing sprees. Ever thought of how that would affect those around you? No! And if you did you never cared because you're selfish!"
"So? I am selfish! I admit it, Do you? You have everyone treating you like a princess, looking after you and loving you, still not enough? I can live with everything I've done and that's happened to me, just barely. But can you live with yourself if you admit your flaws and all the wrong you have done?"
Alayna growled. "You are so frustrating!" Firing a white lightning bolt which Violet easily deflected. "What's frustrating is that I'm right." Violet said smugly.
"Well so am I." Alayna paused. "You know you don't have to keep shielding me like that, I'm not too weak and frail for the real world. I don't need protecting." Violet snorted rolling her eyes. "Yeah you proved that with everything that happened these past months."
"Well maybe because IU haven't experienced enough with everyone shielding me, just like you shield yourself from any good that happens in you life." Alayna scowled while Violet sneered.
"Funny you would say that, Alayna is such a sweetheart oh yes, everyone protected you! kept anything bad from happening to you while no one did that for me. No they just let me get run over the bus while they would do anything for you to keep you out of that. So much easier to let one of us have all the blame." Violet stated bitterly.
"Well maybe if you actually acted like-"
"You know half the murders weren't done by me or were my fault right? I only helped the ones who needed it, to dissapear, start a new life, new identities because they deserved it, needed it. Most of the others I kept them somewhere, brought them together, gave them supplies and what they needed to protect themselves and, each other. My own pack of rogues, not only because I wanted power, because they had nothing left, they were alone and needed saving, a home. Though it's much easier to play the part when everyone thinks you're the devil herself." Alayna stopped and stared at her sister with wide eyes, shocked.
"I-I never-"
"I know you didn't, no one did. Just like they never believed some one with the power of darkness should mate with her prince of demons. Why? because they judge you, from your heritage, the king of power you have. It's what got all of us in this mess in the first place, along with a light witch gone crazy because he lost his mate to hi brother. Violet crossed her arms narrowing her eyes at her sister who sighed in defeat.
"You're right. And I guess we've both gone through too much the last centuries. Sister?" She held her hand out towards Violet who glanced down at her hand than towards her making Alayna nervous.
Violet smiled a genuine smile that sent Alayna off guard, and in awe. "Of course silly." Violet grabbed her outstretched hand pulling her into a hug.
"How do they not see this happening?!" Katy screamed almost falling into a hole that suddenly formed from another Earth quake, the strong winds knocking her off her feet.
Damon chuckled catching her before she flew away midair.
"Probably because their the eyes of the storm, besides it's not that bad." Damon looks around wincing at the amount of people falling into cracks formed into the Earth and getting blown away.
"You're right it's worst." Nathan scowled sighing as yet another one of his demons flew away. 'This takes being blown away in a whole new level.' He winced hearing the crack as one of them flew into a tree.
"They'll be fine..... After being bed ridden for a while. At least someone didn't die."
"Look" Dracula flew next to the two a barrier shielding him as they had their own. "Something is happening."
They all watched as Violet pulled her sister into a hug before power pulsed from them both making the natural disasters falter. Damon smiled. "I knew they could do it."
"Do what, exactly? you never told us how they would be able to balance each other out...." Nathan trailed off feeling another stronger pulse coming from them before everything around them froze. Literally, all they could do was watch as both sisters held their hand up at the moon who's shine was dimming as they recited a spell.
Oh mother of the moon, father of alphas, gods of all life.
We ask for the balance to heed our prayer
Take back out mistakes
Accept the dark. Violet said strongly firing a dark beam at the moon before it was ingulfed.
Accept the light. Alayna said strongly firing a light beam before her light and her sister's darkness fought before the both merged, claiming half of the moon. Ying and Yang.
Accept the world as it is, the people
Balance of light and dark
Reunite
Rise
Lift the curse blessed upon our people
and return all as it should.
Everyone looked up at the moon as both light and dark began to mix, round and round Ying and Yang went before they became one, gleaming silver light making everyone shield their eyes.
Aileen and Filtiarn's attention shifted towards the portal feeling the power seeing the silver light coming from it.
A smile lit up Aileen's face. "It's time."
Filtiarn smiled at the expression on his mate's face. "That it is." He held out his hand towards her which she took.
"Let's go see our daughters." With that they went through the portal.
"Mom?"
"Dad?! Shit I don't want a lecture."
'You can guess who the last comment came from.'
