“Again” I commanded the demon before me before he swung his left fist towards me. I swiftly shifted to the side grabbing his wrist before flipping him over.

I chuckled as he groaned in annoyance “You’re defense needs a little more work along with your reflexes.” He sighed growling under his breath making me roll my eyes.

‘Men and their pride.’ My wolf snickered as I walked away. ‘Amen’

“My rose” I heard a growl before I felt someone wrap their arms around me feeling sparks erupt as he buried his face into my neck. ‘You were saying?’  I raised an eyebrow while she snorted.

‘He’s our hot dangerous mate he doesn’t count, dare I say he makes it look good.’ I snorted at her answer.

Wait till we start getting into arguments.

“Why are you doing this now Nathan” I sighed as his subtle rubbed a spot on my neck giggling a bit. Do not tell anyone I’m ticklish.

“He was touching you” he mumbled while I just raised an eyebrow at his response. “You sure, I’m pretty sure we were trying to beat the crap out of each other….” I trail off as he growled.

“You didn’t see how he stared at you in the beginning, besides he was touching you while trying to hurt you.” I frowned at his reasoning spinning around to meet his lips.

“Are all mates like this” I mumbled while he smirked. “Oh no I’m much worst honey” Great ‘hot’

Ignore that. I’ve heard and seen the extent of a mate’s possessiveness along with protectiveness. If he’s worst I’m doomed.

‘Quick lets run while we can’ I whispered inside my head towards my wolf who just laughed followed by a chuckle.

“I’m never letting you out of my sights honey” He pulled against his chest while I just growled struggling not to lean in.

“Stay out of my head” I snapped pulling away.

“But it’s amusing, deadly- sadistic” He whispered the last part as he came closer to me.

“It just makes me love you more” He smirked while I stared back at him taken off guard as he crushed his lips on mine.

Oh if I had to choose killing and torturing over his lips I would choose his lips. What has the world come to?

“Ahem” I hear someone clear their throat beside us. We broke apart and turned towards a demon girl beside us with all demon qualities of pale skin, black hair and- dark orange yellow eyes? That’s a first.

“What is it Claire?” Nathan asked speaking towards her with familiarity making me narrow my eyes on her.

She barely acknowledged me speaking to him making my annoyance increasing tenfold.

‘Jealous?’ I snorted at my wolf’s comment. ‘Why would I be jealous?’

‘Because she has Nathan’s attention and her attentions were set on him’ my wolf said matter factly.

‘I don’t- It’s not- shut up’ I settled with that while she laughed.

“We’ve had a group mixed with wolves and light witches trying to gain entrance to the underworld but they are already taken care of I am still worried.” Claire spoke while Nathan though over it. “Interesting” he mumbled before returning back to us.

“I’ll look into it, you can get back to your job” He smiled at her making me huff as I pulled him away.

“What’s wrong Violet?” He chuckled not even trying to hide his amusement making me roll my eyes as I pulled him out of the room.

“No absolutely not” Nathan growled while I just stood defiantly snorting.

“Says who?” I mocked while he glared.

We found out the group sent was here to relay a message. A very disturbing message, Augustine is a sick man for a light witch. I’m both impressed and disgusted.

He made his point clear enough though, he has an army and were outnumbered. The spell Nathan performed to see the outside world confirmed that.

Demons only isn’t going to cut it, even with the number of vampires we have her. We need more supernatural.

We needed more allies and I would be on my way to get them if not for a certain devil I mean demon. ‘You were thinking handsome devil weren’t you’ my wolf snickered while I just scoffed. ‘No’ I answered barely believable.

Nathan doesn’t want me going back up and has been trying to ‘convince’ me but he’ll find out I’m one of the most stubborn and sly person there is.

“Says me” Nathan growled.

“Nathan, I’m going whether you like it or not.” I rolled my eyes.

“Then I’ll come with you” he huffed crossing his arms.

“No way, I’m pretty sure people will notice the presence of the king of demons” I raised an eyebrow, my eyes softened as his mind became vulnerable allowing me to read his thoughts. I feel a little guilty…..

I sighed moving closer to him. “Don’t worry I’ll be fine. Trust me when I say when I don’t want to be found I won’t be found.” I said softly caressing his cheeks while a small grin curled on his lips.

“Violet Scarlett showing true emotions other than anger and hate, this should be recorded in the history books” Nathan chuckled half-heartedly taking her hands with his own a smile gracing his lips making Violet smile.

“I’ll let you go, we both know things won’t turn out well with our few numbers and theirs growing. We need more allies.” I smirked as he began to see things my way but couldn’t help but feel awed by his understanding.

“Don’t worry so much I have a lot of sources, I’ll be back in no time.”

 ------------------ 2 days later

 “Heyyy grandpa” I waved awkwardly from where I was hanging upside down. I didn’t think this through with the disguise.

Dracula only sighed. “I’ll be sending a couple of witches to the underworld and gather the other covens. Give it 3 days.” I blinked at him in surprise.

That was easy, I thought, I thought there would be explanations, begging, threatening, fights bloodshed…. ‘You’re over thinking scenarios again’ my wolf rolled her eyes making me roll my eyes.

“Thanks grandpa” I said chirpily as I was cut down from the tree I was hung to upside down- don’t ask.

“Oh Violet” Drac stopped midway turning towards me. “Yeah?” I froze as I began to turn around.

“Next time you want to get around here don’t disguise yourself as a light witch.”  He raised an eyebrow amusement clear on his face as I laughed nervously.

“You see I needed a disguise and since no one expects a light witch…yeah….” I trailed off looking down at my colorful attire my night black hair now blonde, my gray eyes blue. I hate it.

But it’s the only way to truly stay hidden. Anyone, anyone knows I would die before going near and becoming friends with another light witch much less disguise as one. The things I do for this world.

‘Actually were doing this for ourselves, so we can be with our mate without people interrupting remember.’ My wolf pointed out making me huff.

‘Everyone has the right to be selfish once in a while.’

‘true true’ Silence enveloped us before she spoke again ‘SO I can take over and have sex with Nathan’

‘No because your selfishness effects both of us.’

‘And yours effects the world.’

‘Better it then me besides you want this too, remember?’

‘I go to go find my cat’

‘Yes there is a cat in my mind and it loves you for you being a wolf’ I said sarcastically as she growled.

‘Shut up’ she blocked me out.

“You should be on your way Violet I’m sure you have more people to see, some to kill or something” I snapped back to the present to see Drac shooing me away.

I grinned making my way out of the territory. “Bye grandpa” I molded into the shadows before hurrying towards my next destination.

This is a nice way to travel. Never knew I could travel by shadows till Nathan showed me. As long as there are shadows, there is a path for me and it cuts back time.

I began to slow down as I neared the territory. ‘Be careful’ my wolf said warningly tense.

‘Yeah yeah’ I shook her off going into the Tritan pack territory. I really shouldn’t have come back here but I have someone I really need to get to.

Nathan will kill me for this. ‘I’ll die a happy wolf’

Rolling my eyes I once again melted into the shadows and made my towards the mansion we provided to the vampires. The forest animals are getting restless, they don’t see me but they sense my presence. It’s only a matter of time before someone finds out about me.

Finding the room I was aiming for I scaled the wall before going through the window that was open.

“Oomph” I felt my breath leave me as I was tackled.

“Who the hell are- Violet?!” Grant exclaimed staring at me in shock through his now red eyes.

“Shhh” I put my hand over his mouth as I heard footsteps and sighed in relief when they faded away.

“What are you doing here” Grant whispered frantically helping me up as I quickly whispered a simple spell. Never know who could be listening in a house full of supernatural.

“I came to talk to you” I spoke regularly as he rolled his eyes.

“I get that but why are you back here? This is dangerous, Richard and the others could get to you.” He said worry in his voice.

I lost the disguise, not like that was going to help my sister or any other real light witch from identifying me. Wait-

“Why aren’t you on their side?” I asked carefully while he just scoffed.

“Please Violet any vampire out there could tell whoever that was wasn’t you” I stared at him in surprise while he chuckled.

“Any of us could tell the different between a goddesses’ blood and a filthy demon’s.” I blinked clueless. Demon?

Whoever did this was a demon?! This is messed up, what demon would side with them? I’m pretty sure they still hold a grudge for their messed up lives thanks to their souls disappearing.

Also, Nathan has a traitor at his mist.

Or maybe it was the council demon Alistair. Either way it’s not any better.

“I guess I have to save the speech and just tell you to join the rest of us in the underworld.” Grant stared at me amused.

“Yes I know what the sentence sounded like, just round up everyone and get out of here, I’m pretty sure Richard won’t stay blind to who your loyalty goes out to.” I snapped as I read his mind.

“Of course your highness” Grant bowed mockingly while I just smirked bringing my knees up to meet his lowered face.

“Argh son of a-“

“Ah ah ah, you don’t curse out loyalty nor do you mistake their genders” He glared at me holding on to his bleeding nose.

Oops…It’ll heal.

“Now hurry, I got to go before anyone notices my presence. Find any information you can and make sure get out of here, use stealth.” I said seriously while he just tilted his head.

“Aren’t you coming with us or leading us to the entrance?” I sighed shaking my head.

“No, I have somewhere else I need to go, I’ll send a demon out to guide you” I made my way halfway out the window before freezing turning to meet his gaze sheepishly.

“Can you not tell Nathan I was here, say you changed sides or I spoke in your mind or something” I smile sheepishly while he just stared in amusement.

“Why? Your boyfriend didn’t want you to go into the heart of the enemy’s territory.” He asked mockingly while I just glared back at him giving him his answer.

“Good, don’t pull another stunt like this” He said seriously before startling me as he appeared in front of me. “Bye Scarlett” It barely registered to me he pushed me out the window till I landed.

“Bastard” I growled up at him as he just smirked bringing his index finger to his lips. “Shhh”

“Ugh” I melted into the shadows going as fast as I could and out the territory.

‘So were going back ‘there’ huh’ my wolf sighed as I made my way into no man land.

‘Yup, told you they would come in handy someday’ I said smugly before arriving at my location.

“It’s time” I whispered making my way to the very edge where a cliff was situated.

I didn’t hesitate as I walked into the open towards the edge of the cliff before taking a deep breath walking off.

In only a few minutes I landed on a hard surface and was instantly surrounded by many wolves. Some foul looking most of them decent but they still stunk.

“Violet scarlett” One of them shifted into a man growling at me.

“Why are you-“

“Oh save the speech Albert” I spoke nonchalantly analyzing my nails making him growl.

“You have no right-“It was my turn to snarl before his neck found its way into my hand. How did that happen? Cue snicker.

“I have every right” I snarled in his face before tossing him to the side turning towards the hundreds of wolves that surrounded us.

“It’s time to begin repaying your debt to me” My words brought growls and snarls.

“Heel all of you.” I growled dominantly before smirking.

“After all I hold your lives in my hands.” I extended my right hand out as it glowed Violet before a mark appeared glowing on everyone one of them above their hearts; wolf or no wolf.

My mark.
