Violet

I groaned waking up my head pounding like a bitch. That was a weird dream.

I snapped up only to be held down as I accessed my surroundings. ‘It wasn’t a dream’ my wolf said quietly.’ I felt dread remembering the recent events.

Why do they think I did it? I wasn’t even here!

I tried moving again only to be kept down, now that I think about it I’m strapped to a silver chair.

Come to think of it silver wouldn’t have been able to hurt and knock me out like that so it must have been holy water mixed with silver. Deadliest combination for a half witch and wolf.

That idiot Alayna telling them our biggest weakness, no one apart from Derek and Damon along with Stone and Merideth know this. Yes not even our closest friends know this it’s that much a secret and now she told them and they used it against me.

I let out a snarl that shook the whole cell I was locked in. How dare they.

My head snapped towards the door as it was opened and Trent, Luke, Alayna, Damon along with Jake, Stephen, Stone and Merideth came in. Another unfamiliar face came in before I recognized who it was.

I snarled silently. Richard Compton.

One of the councils pet and has been trying to get me in trouble for a while now ultimately failing. He must getting a kick out of this right now.

“Well well well, who do we have here” I bared my teeth glaring at him while the others stared at me with sadness and disappointment. Such faith they have in me.

“I know you have problems keeping out of trouble and love causing chaos but to go against your pack and alliance-“He tsked while I just growled at him.

“What do you take me for I would never slaughter my own pack and other pack members” I don’t even know what happened. Half of the pack house was burned down and there were bodies all from all three packs.

I’m ruthless but not that ruthless to kill my own pack members! I go after rogues, the bad ones anyway, I never hurt a pack member unless they disrespect me.

“Don’t bother denying it Violet we saw you” Alayna shook her head in sadness.

 “What do you mean you saw me? I just got here!” I looked at her in disbelief.

“Oh give it up woman, we saw your face, you used your magic and you shifted. Guess you cleaned yourself up and put on fresh clothes to put on this innocent act” Stephen snickered while I just narrowed my eyes at him to which he only winked to as no one paid attention to him.

Bastard! I bet he has something to do with it. ‘I never liked him anyway’ my wolf growled fighting me for control.

I took a deep breath trying to calm both me and my wolf down before meeting the gaze of everyone before me.

“Don’t you think you would be able to tell if I was lying?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“I think not, you are the master of deception after all, you’ve managed to get away from justice for all your wrong doings even after all this time. I don’t know why you being here is so shocking” Richard sneered the last part while I just growled.

“That’s probably no alpha would hurt a pack member.” I heard Trent snicker “Hypocrite”

“Oh look who’s talking” I spat at him. Some mate.

“Enough Violet” I turned towards Alayna in shock. “What were you thinking interacting with Naberious in the first place” I paled at her words while I heard a snicker.

“Well this is new a reaction from the great Violet Scarlett. I take it you know him then” Derek’s eyes narrowed on me fiercely an emotion flashing through his eyes. Disappointment maybe, I can barely guess with him and there holy water somewhere in here that’s stopping me of using my powers so I can’t read his mind.

I took a hesitant breath taking a chance “What do you know about me and Nathan?” As soon as those words were out I knew I made a mistake but just the thought of him messes with my mind.

Everyone stared at me in confusion. “Nathan?”

Trent chuckled bitterly. “Nathan, is that what that demon is calling himself now?”

I frown “No it’s actually his name, Naberious was a name given to him centuries ago” Damn I need to keep my mouth shut.

‘No kidding but they’ll get the truth one way or another right’ I just ignored my wolf and zipped my mouth shut.

“And how would you know that miss Scarlett?” Richard smirked a smirk that screamed ‘gotcha’ I gritted my teeth in annoyance but otherwise didn’t speak.

“It makes me wonder how much you’ve been seeing Nathan” Trent spat out his name this time his emotion clear in his tone. Jalousie and possessiveness along with anger and betrayal.

As much as I would love to comment he was the one who rejected, accused and judged me and is accusing me one again I kept my mouth shut.

“Looks like Violet is done talking” Stone sighed.

“Oh don’t worry mister Stone I already have everything I need” Richard grinned victoriously holding up a recorder making me stiffen. “The council will surely hear of this, I’m sure they will come up with some method to make her talk if needed” He grinned maliciously while I just glared at him not daring to speak.

I’m thinking of many curse words right now ‘And you’re making me proud’ my wolf mocked tears while I just scowled. ‘Not now.’

“What’s going to happen until then” Merideth asked gravely. Well hasn’t she been quiet. Sorry I get sarcastic in upsetting situations like when Richard mysteriously gets his throat slit.

“Until then she will be locked up awaiting word from the council of her fate. She will stay here with her mate who can hopefully keep her in check and contained.” He looked glanced towards Trent who nodded in understanding.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance. Their talking about me as if I’m some wild animal and leaving me with this bastard of a mate to ‘keep me in check.’ Please.

They kept droning on and on annoying me even further. These people are my family, most of them anyway and for them to not give me any benefit of a doubt and leaving me out to dry like this.

I chuckled without humor within me. Guess I deserve this huh, opening myself to a few only to receive the biggest betrayals. I was never even fit to lead a pack in the first place but to kill my own members?

Whoever is responsible for this will pay oh so dearly.

“Maybe we should go night is coming” Luke spoke quietly before everyone agreed and made their way towards the door.

“How exactly are you going to defeat Nathan without me I wonder” I chuckled without humor making the last person which was Richard freeze half way out the door.

“I’m sure Alayna will be able, what’s the point bothering with you, after all we all know darkness against darkness can never bring true peace and light. Both are just dark, a black hole, nothing good will come from either even if one wins. The only thing that can vanquish darkness is light and you Violet Scarlett don’t contain a speck of light within you” He sneered and instantly my face darkened along with the atmosphere around me.

“You will pay for this” I hissed as he just laughed mockingly locking the meal door behind him and as I heard his footsteps fade many more after that.

I hissed as something rained from above burning my skin before stopping leaving me surrounded in silver and holy water enough to contain me and leave me useless.

I felt my eyes go cross red and violet before it instantly disappeared.

There hasn’t been a prison that can hold me but now with them knowing my ultimate weakness…

I shook those thoughts out of my head.

“No there is no prison that can hold Violet Scarlett” I smirked evilly my head snapping towards the camera in the corner.

“Sooner or later I will be out.”

With that I let my head drop darkness engulfing me as my midnight hair curtained my face. I relished in the peace and quiet around me as it slowly began driving me mad as I ignored the burning sensation around me as I was strapped to the silver chair.

Plotting my revenge for whoever who is responsible for this.

They have signed their death wish.

I don’t know how long I was in here before my head snapped up at a whisper.

‘It's time’

“What do you mean she’s gone?!” Richard Compton yelled out in rage smashing his fist on the desk he was provided with making a dent.

“S-she’s g-gone” The head security of the facility Violet was locked in stuttered flinching as anger rolled off of Richard in waves.

“How?” He managed to let out between deep breaths as he tried to calm himself.

“W-we don’t know sir. We went to bring her breakfast this morning and found her gone. We checked the footages one minute she was, the next a black heavy mist blocked our view for one second before she was gone.” The man stuttered afraid to face anymore of Richard’s wrath.

“That doesn’t make any sense! And I thought I told you not to feed her until I saw fit.” He muttered the last part darkly with such venom making the man flinch.

“Well” He barked making the man jump. “Get out of my sight and find her. That bitch cannot be allowed to roam around” His fist smashed on the table once again this time successfully breaking it in half.

The man quickly shuffled out the room to complete the task given to him.

“One messily task only to fail, that stupid bitch” Richard muttered glaring at the wall before the door was slammed open and both alpha’s and former alpha’s came along with the light goddesses daughter.

He instantly straightened putting on a blank face.

“We heard, is she really gone?” Alayna said quietly worry filling her.

“Unfortunately yes she is missing but do not worry princess we will catch her before she causes anymore trouble and keep her locked away more successfully this time.” Richard stated making sure worry and concern was in his tone, he could care less about that little bitch, she deserves to rot.

Alayna’s eyebrows furrowed at his tone and choice of words but let it slip.

She really didn’t learn the last time she let something slip, she should have use her sight to see his soul almost as dark as night with no ounce of care.

Violet groaned her head pounding as she woke feeling a soft surface she looked around confused before the memory came to her.

Her head snapped towards a darkened corner where a figure stood watching her and calmed down as he stepped towards the light to reveal himself.

“Nathan” She sighed out while he marveled at the way his name escaped her lips.

“Have you gotten your rest?” He ask softly while he was still raging on the inside at what was done to her.

He will find the bastard that cause this and make sure to make him pay and as for now he already has a suspect or suspects. His biggest question, how did someone successfully take her form and have all the attributes she had.

“Yeah” She sighed leaning on one of the many pillows sitting upright before looking around the room which main theme was red, black and violet.

“Thanks for getting me out of that prison” She frowned little remembering earlier events as everything settled in.

She felt chills as tears came to her eyes before she was engulfed in a warm embrace. She struggled but he only held tighter before tears trailed down her face.

“There there” He caressed her head pulling her into his warm chest before she pulled back with a sniff. “Why is it I can’t hide anything from you. Why are you effecting me so much?!” by the end she was yelling in frustration new tears forming.

He soften staring at her vulnerable state as his demon fought him to comfort her. “That’s because were mates”

His demon got control for a split second as his guard was down making him curse as he saw her eyes widen in shock.

“W-what” She stared at him speechless at his words.

What’s done is done his demon will just have to pay for it later, no kills for him. He heard a feral growl within his mind while he just ignored it smiling softly at Violet. His mate.

“Were mates, true mates with a true bond unlike that artificial one with that bastard of an alpha.” He growled at the thought of ‘him’ with his mate. He’s waited centuries and he won’t stand for it anymore.

Violet blinked still speechless.

He stared at her expression before chuckling making her shiver as he pulled her back into his chest.

“I think I should tell you the truth about this century long conflict and this so called prophecy.”

Violet still blinked in his chest in shock trying to digest this information.

“What the hell?” She muttered in his chest making him chuckle again.

“You’re so cute” He mumbled making her pull back in shock.

Cute?! No one has ever called her cute. She is not ‘cute’

Why does her cheek feel hot?
