Violet

I groaned rolling over the bed as sunlight streamed on my face. I instantly froze.

Bed? Instantly I shot up and looked around confused.

“I’m in my room?” I muttered.

‘No shit Sherlock’

‘Shut up I’m just wondering if it was all a dream.’ I snapped at her.

‘Feel your forehead then tell me if it was a dream.’ My wolf sighed dreamily.

Weird out I touched my forehead to feel the lingering sparks from where Nathan gave me a kiss. I shivered a little. Not a dream.

But that also means……

‘Yeah she really said all those things’ my wolf said quietly. Sure mine and Alayna’s wolf have a quarrel but they still got along and for her human to say that to me, it must have hurt her that she didn’t try to stop her.

‘How about we go out of town for a while we need to anyway but we could use a break at the same time’ my wolf suggested.

I sighed “Sure why not” I spoke out loud. I have someone I needed to visit anyway.

I heard the doorknob turn before a knock came. “Violet unlock the door” I heard Derek’s voice call out.

Groaning I moved towards the door as he kept knocking. “Violet” I heard his sing-along voice behind the door.

I hissed throwing the door open as he began pounding. That boy can be annoying sometimes.

“Finally” He pushed himself in before Maya followed sending me an apologetic glance. Please if you want to apologize write a ten page essay for all those years I’ve known him.

Sighing I slammed the door before going into the bathroom. Huh I’m not looking as bad as I would have thought, oh well.

I started the water in a tub pouring in a random soap inhaling deeply at the scent. Roses.

‘Big surprise’ my wolf snickered while I just ignored her.

Going back into my room I caught the pair just in time before they kissed and have a make out session on my bed. Trust me it’s happened one simple kiss and boom.

I can never really understand love or how a simple kiss could be addictive. ‘Really’ my wolf spoke before she flashed a picture of Nathan in my mind.

Scowling I shook it off. I don’t know what got into me last night to let him hold me like that at one of my weakest moment. He’s the enemy for Pete sake leading him nonetheless I should be gutting his guts out.

I was startled when my wolf growled loudly ‘You’re just afraid of how he makes you feel’ with that she shut me out while I stood shocked.

She’s never really growled at me nonetheless shut me out before. We’ve never had an argument before.

“Hey Violet” I snapped out of it. “Huh?” I looked towards the couple.

“I think the water is overflowing” Maya pointed out as I cursed under my breath turning back towards the bathroom.

I quickly turned off the water before groaning as I stared at the mess.

“No way am I cleaning that up” I heard Derek comment from the door. I stared at him in annoyance “don’t worry you don’t have to.”

Turning back towards the mess I concentrated feeling my power before muttering a quick spell.

A dark feeling entered the room, I felt the others shiver while I reveled in it. A black cloud of smoke quickly swept around the room before disappearing. Smirking I looked around the room to see everything back to normal and a bath calling my name.

It’s been a while since I used any spells.

“What was that it felt so…eerie” Maya shivered while Derek just chuckled.

“It was Violet’s witch side surfacing when she casted that spell.” Maya’s head snapped towards me. “I- didn’t mean eerie I mean-“

“Don’t worry about it you basically gave her a complement” Derek smirked while I just rolled my eyes.

“Both of you shoo I need to take a bath” and I don’t want to have this discussion now.

“Alright but don’t take too long.” Derek called out before closing the door.

Sighing I finally turned towards my bath.

“Maybe this wasn’t the best idea” I muttered when I realized something.

 I’m easily going to get lost in thoughts.

I walked out of the bathroom dressed learning from pass experiences with Derek.

‘Damn he’s still here’ I groaned inwardly at the two still on my bed.

“Sit” Derek stood up pointing at his previous spot. Seeing his serious composure I chose to listen and sat next to Maya.

He sighed running his hand through his hair before speaking. “Yesterday don’t you think you were a little harsh?” Knowing what he was talking about I snorted “Please we all know she had it coming” I met his gaze before looking away.

“If you ask me she was the harsh one I simply showed her reality, not everyone’s life can be as dandy as hers.” Derek sucked in a breath before giving me a hug earning a growl from Maya however Derek just ignored her.

“True she had it coming and yes she’s too innocent for her own good but she was just trying to help the best way she thought was best”

“And we all know what happens when someone helps me and try to meddle in my life” Derek just chuckled pulling away.

“Yeah she’s lucky she’s your sister” I smiled sadly as he pulled away and chuckled when Maya pulled him in a possessive kiss.

I rolled my eyes as she smiled sheepishly at me “Sorry my wolf took over, she still doesn’t really accept your relationship with Derek” My relationship with Derek?

He’s a brother to me, one that helped me even when the odds were against us. Being with him throughout the years was the highlight of my pitiful life. I would have been worse than I am now if it wasn’t for him. He may be the only person coming close to understanding me.

As if taunting me his face flashed in my mind as his words came back to me.

‘I know, I know my rose life isn’t fair for people like us’

No you can’t. I shook my head to catch the two staring at me.

“You’re probably stressed over the moon right now” Derek pondered as Maya nodded in agreement.

Derek sighed “So how long will you be gone?” Maya snapped her head towards him in confusion.

“2 days” I answered moving towards my closet before taking out an already pack duffel back, I made sure to grab one of my leather jackets.

I looked down at my black dress before grabbing a pair of shorts putting it on fixing the dress so it wasn’t visible.

“Hope it helps” I heard Derek mumble behind me. “Me too” I muttered before bringing out a pair of knives from a secret compartment, I put on my boots before putting the knives in my boots. What? Boots are the best holding and hiding places a woman can have.

“Wait what are you guys talking about” Maya demanded confused. I looked at Derek with a ‘you explain’ look while he just rolled his eyes.

“Sometimes Violet may need to get away from things and get time to herself or relax-“

“Don’t forget the cravings” I snickered finally finding what I was looking for.

I closed my closet going back towards the bed.

“I don’t understand” Maya tilted her head. “She sometimes leaved for a few days leaving Jake in charge to get whatever she needs done or just simply relax. She just stresses herself too much” I glared at him at the last part before grabbing and strapping on my duffel bag.

“So you’re just going to leave without notice? What if our pack worries?” Maya asked me.

“Their used to it by now in fact their surprised she didn’t leave sooner” Derek smirked pulling her into him.

“Whatever I’m going, lock my room for me and take your love making somewhere else” I scowled as they were about to kiss before going towards the garage hearing Derek laugh. “Have fun darling” I heard him call out.

Rolling my eyes I couldn’t help but chuckle reaching the garage.

I walked in seeing the many luxurious cars and motorcycles. Going towards the back I approached the one covered.

Quickly uncovering it I trailed my finger along the leather seats before sighing in contempt.

“My baby” My motorcycle and one of the newest model. No I didn’t steal it I’m not that kind of person.

I threatened his business and ruined half of it before he gave in. All in all I blackmailed him, or did I manipulate him? Oh well either way I had a lot of fun doing it.

Kicking up the brakes I fired my baby up before riding out smirking at the chaos and confusion I’ve caused.

After 3 hours of riding and an annoying 30 minute food stop- teenage boys these days- and a run in with an officer…. Don’t ask. I finally made it to my location.

Steering on the dirt road I made my way towards the dark and creepy mansion in an already darkening forest Scary I know, I love this place.

Parking my bike I straightened my dress and duffel bag before getting my milkshake, I love milkshakes. Don’t ask how I rode with it but I just couldn’t throw an unfinished milkshake out. It’s just not right.

Sipping on my drink I walked across the lawn ignoring the disturbing decorations. Well at least they let the bodies decapitate before putting it out here.

Finally reaching the door I too the handle which a black snake before knocking it on the door a single time hearing it eerily echo throughout the house and yard. Doesn’t really help with the dark aura seeping from the mansion.

I heard a slight noise from behind the door before a voice came through.

“Password” Her chilling voice spoke through before I rolled my eyes. “You know who I am just open the damn door” I stated. I mean how many half wolf half dark witch visit dark creepy woods to a dark abandoned looking mansion?

“Password” She only repeated making me sigh in annoyance.

“Fine ‘Light witches are disgusting inferior unnecessary goody two shoes irrelevant creatures’ happy?” I took a deep breath as the door flew open and I was engulfed in a tight hug.

“Violet!” a voice squealed before pulling away giving me a full view of the blond. “You don’t come visit as often” She pouted before eagerly pulling me inside.

“Well sorry but I’ve been really busy lately especially with the demons roaming around. Besides I’m not sure anyone would willingly come into a dark witch’s coven” I chuckled.

“Other than you” A voice interrupted before a man emerged from the shadows smirking.

I smirked “Hey grandpa”
