Chapter 35
Violet
I sighed making my way towards the clearing where all three packs were ready for training.
I couldn’t help but feel different today.
‘It’s called happiness genius” my wolf rolled her eyes at me but I simply ignored her.
Happiness? I haven’t felt happiness trued happiness in so long that I’ve even forgotten how it felt. All the work one simple man, who knew another encounter with him would get to her like this.
Yet she was still afraid, afraid of her reaction towards him and his origin.
“Morning Violet” Alayna skipped towards her blond ponytail swinging side to side. She could pass up as a typical cheerleader if she wanted, a less bitchy one.
“Morning” I answered her bored trying to keep the happiness out of my voice while she stared at me weirdly.
“What?” I raised an eyebrow while she continued to stare.
“Nothing-it’s just that- nothing” She shook her head before walking away.
Shrugging I turned towards the waiting pack members, clapping my hands I got everyone’s attention.
“Ok let’s begin.”
--------------------
400 laps, 600 pushups and 900 sit ups later.
I watched as the pack members struggled to finish the last of their pushups.
Sighing I got up from the grass that I watched the pack members from when I finished my share of warm up.
“You guys can take a beak” I waved them off going towards the coolers containing water stooping when I heard gasps.
I turned back to see everyone staring at me in shock. “What?” I rolled my eyes.
“Did you just say we could take a ‘break’” Derek spoke emphasizing break while I just stared at them in annoyance.
“Yes I did what of it?” I spoke starting to get annoyed.
“You never let us take a break”
“Like never” Alayna picked up on Derek’s statement.
I rolled my eyes at their claims. “You guys are over reacting.”
“No were not most of the time we literally have to beg for a break-“
“Literally on our knees too considering we can barely get up” Trent cut Alayna off giving me a pointed look along with the other pack members especially the Tritans.
I can’t be that bad.
‘Uh yew we are, were pretty much in a bad mood all the time and take it out on them’ my wolf chuckled. ‘Kind of good for them if you ask me they become better fighters so…. win win for us.’ She giggled while I just rolled my eyes.
“Yeah whatever if you don’t want you’re break we can just keep going until you do beg” I smirked as I saw a look of horror overcome their faces.
“Were good”
“Yeah we’ll just be going”
Everyone shuffled toward the coolers sighing in relief.
I rolled my eyes and tensed when I felt a disgusting presence.
“Why are you here Stephen” I growled turning towards the smirking bob of blonde.
“Nothing just loitering around” He shrugged while I just scowled at him.
“Well you’re loitering is making my skin crawl can you offer yourself to a demon?” I sneered. I can be really straight forward when I can be.
“Don’t be rude Violet” I heard Alayna scold me from behind before standing in front of him. Alayna’s taken the liberty to take Stephen under her wing and teach him the ropes about being a light witch. We came to an agreement as long as he stayed away from me everything would be fine but it seems he enjoys annoying me.
I still don’t trust him and neither should Alayna but every time I voice my opinion Alayna seems to wave me off.
I gave up convincing her but I knew there was something about him that I automatically hated and it’s not just his presence that naturally disgusts me.
Besides I think he enjoys setting Alayna against me when she defends him.
‘I can’t wait till we can gut him alive, maybe we’ll find a couple of light witch secrets.’ My wolf chuckled baring her fangs. At least we both agree on a slow painful death for once.
“Whatever, trainings over” I waved Alayna off at whatever she was saying which she froze after hearing my statement.
“D-did you just say-“
“Yes a day off” I cut off whatever pack member spoke up. “I need a vacation” I muttered walking away.
“Oh no” I felt a grip on my wrist.
Sighing in irritation I turned around to see Ashly along with Katy and Alayna all smirking evilly.
Oh no whatever their planning can’t be good. For me.
“Since you’ve given us a day off from the muscle aching trainings you’ve been giving us ever since that attack-“
“We should have fun on our first day off” Katy finished up for Ashly. Cue horror music, their idea of fun is my idea of torture. Shocker.
‘Not’
‘Yeah not helping’ I snapped towards my wolf who just chuckled.
“No” I said instantly.
“Oh come on it’ll be fun” Alayna whined.
“That’s what you said before we were almost kidnapped.” I deadpanned.
“That was a onetime thing” Katy waved it off.
“We were almost ran off a cliff, pushed off a building, shot with arrows and literally almost cooked alive by a witch.” I stated all with a straight face while everyone stared in shock. Derek, Damon, Josh, Jake and a couple of pack members who have heard of our adventures were trying not to laugh.
“Well it’s not our fault you made so many enemies” Alayna said frustrated throwing her hands in the air.
“She’s right you know, we were supposed to be having a friendly race, bungee jumping, an archery contest and a nice day at a lake” Katy counted off her fingers based on what I said.
“All foiled by your little ‘friends’” Alayna gave me a pointed look.
“Hey the last one wasn’t my fault, I didn’t invite a dark witch on my territory to hide out and sacrifice those in the lake for her spells.” I returned her pointed gaze.
You know how some witches on TV cook their victims to eat them? Well some dark witches hide out near water, easier to catch any soul since you can just drown them and pretty much use their soul to catch their spells. Apparently that witch was planning to sacrifice us and was heating up the water hotter than a hot spring to kill us.
“We never knew she was on our territory for Pete sake. Why do you think pack members were disappearing without our clue” Alayna growled frustrated while I smirked.
“That’s even worst, you really need to up you’re security sis” Alayna growled in frustration before stopping glaring at me.
“No no no, you are not using that trick to get out of whatever we have planned.” She pointed her finger at me while Kay and Ashly smirked when profanities spilled out of my lips.
“Fine what do you have in mind” I huffed in defeat, it’s just no use.
“The beach” Alayna grinned while I just raised an eyebrow.
“Are you going to check it for any witch that wants to sacrifice us?” I asked seriously while she just glared at me.
“Get dressed” She huffed while I just chuckled.
“And there aren’t going to be any witches” I heard her call out after me.
As I made my way towards the pack house I heard Trent shout “She almost got cooked by a witch!”
I chuckled along with my wolf.
“Idiot”
‘Idiot’
------------------------------
So here we are
At the beach
Alayna was right there aren’t any witches.
There are demons.
And it looks like we interrupted something.
“So…. Nice day isn’t it” I stared blankly making the demons hiss.
Well that was rude.
‘It’s also rude to decapitating someone’ my wolf rolled her eyes.
‘Hey he went for my throat’ I said defensively.
‘Sure sure’ she waved me off which looked funny with her paws.
“So are we going to keep growling and hissing at each other or just attack and get this with. This was supposed to be my day off” I said matter factly while everyone turned and just stared at me.
“You all dragged me here in the first place so I can complain” I huffed crossing my arms wincing a little when blood from my hands got on my shit. It was one of my favorites.
I stiffened when I felt a different yet familiar presence.
The air shifted before a demon fell with its head nearby then another and another. It was a blur as the wind kept shifting and demons kept falling.
I turned towards Derek and as we made eye contact we had the same thought.
He’s back.
The last demon fell before everyone tensed ready while some freaked out.
“I always hated demon blood anyway.” I heard a dark voice state behind us making everyone turn around.
“Grant what brings you here?” I asked nonchalantly.
He grinned his fangs fully out glinting in the sunlight. “Didn’t you miss me?”
“Impossible their all extinct” One of the adults that came to chaperone gasped interrupting my response.
“He-he-he’s-“one of the pack members stuttered.
“Yes spit it out” I rolled my eyes.
“He’s a vampire!”
"Good observation want a metal for that?" What they dragged me here and now they interrupt me. This was supposed to be my day off remember?
