Chapter 34

Trent groaned as his wolf became wrestless.

Trent took a deep breath hoping to calm him and his wolf and closed his eyes only for them to snap open as a loud growl sounded in his head.

‘Well not like I was asleep anyway’ He scowled mentally at his wolf who just growled back. He really couldn’t sleep thought, he couldn’t get Violet out of his head and how he could make up for everything. Become the mated they were meant to be had it not been for his stupid mistakes.

Trent would no longer let anyone else manipulate his thoughts and actions, he was the alpha and he should make his own decisions, he will make his own decisions. He learned by now letting others think for him only leads to trouble and he learned it the hard way costing him the love of his life.

He may have a chance now but if he stays the weak person he was before letting others control his decisions he may never get the chance again.

I think that’s what made Violet a great alpha despite her heartless attribute. She makes the decisions but not based solely on her or one other person but the whole pack but she doesn’t let them sway her decisions.

Trent was brought out of his thoughts as he heard his wolf growl louder this time making his head pound as he growled.

‘Mine’ His wolf growled before unexpectedly pushing towards the surface gaining control.

‘What the heck has been with you lately’ Trent called out from the back of his head trying to regain control while his wolf just ignored him.

‘Mine’ he sniffed the air looking for her scent.

Catching her trail his wolf smirked his canine in full view giving away who was now present.

Trent watched confused from the back of his head as he watched his wolf trail after Violet’s smell.

‘I will not lose to that scum demon’ His wolf growled out lowly that even Trent didn’t hear it before his wolf shifted taking off into the night.

As the duo passed they didn’t sense the presence lingering in the kitchen. He smirked before his eyes glowed a pure blue before he disappeared in a flash of light.

“Nathan?” Violet raised an eyebrow at the man before her while he just shrugged.

“That is my name” Violet just stared at him blankly as he continued smirking.

“I thought your name was-“

“Naberious?” he cut me off his smirk vanishing.

“It’s what the witches called me back in the days. Honestly they were so judgy” He scowled at the last part.

“Looks like the name stuck throughout the century, heck even my own demons call me that” He said chuckling before smirking. “Besides Nathan is much sexier”

Violet blinked at his explanation before blurting out “How old are you?” Violet gasped before covering her lips.

‘What the heck was that?!’

‘What we were both thinking it’ her wolf shrugged while Violet scowled inwardly at her.

‘That’s all you got from his explanation?’

‘No’ Violet went to sigh before her wolf cut her off

“Nathan is sexier then Naberious’ Violet growled lowly even if it was true her wolf barely noticed the important things.

‘I did’ her wolf demanded.

‘And what would that be?’ Violet asked smugly.

‘Those witches are too judgmental for their own good I mean look at him he’s hot. How can they name him something that means evil?’ He wolf said thoughtfully.

‘What- well can’t argue with the witches part but have you forgotten he’s the demon king? Remember the legends?’ Violet rolled her eyes.

‘The real question is do you? I mean we both know you have the hots for him’

‘Do not’ Violet denied.

‘Do to’ her wolf sung.

‘Do not’ Violet growled.

‘Do to’

‘Do not’

Nathan watched in amusement as she bickered with her wolf and couldn’t help but smile at their childish ways. He knew it didn’t happen so often, for her to be loosen up like this, bickering like she used to when she once had a great life.

Nathan felt his inner demon growl and try to claw his way into the surface thirsty. Thirsty for blood, vengeance.

“Patience” He whispered softly against the wind watching Violet’s face twist into a scowl.

“They will get what comes to them soon” He reassured his demon feeling it calm at Violet’s presence.

Smirking he looked up towards the full moon “Soon” He whispered before feeling his demons surrender and disappear.

Satisfied he looked back down towards Violet who was still going at it with her wolf oblivious to his inner turmoil.

Nathan smirked once again when he heard her wolf’s words.

‘Oh come on we both know he’s perfect for us, he’s hot dark mysterious and dangerous’ She purred out dangerous menacingly making Nathan shiver.

‘Ugh I give up why am I even having this argument with you?’ Violet growled in frustration, her wolf could be impossible sometimes.

‘Well it started when-‘

‘Don’t answer’ she cut her off before shutting her wolf out ignoring her protests.

Sighing Violet turned around and jumped as she saw Nathan sitting right by her.

“You ok there” Nathan raised an eyebrow while Violet stared in shock.

How the heck did I let my guard down? Violet asked herself in shock.

He could have attacked me at any time but somehow I knew he wouldn’t do that. Weirdly being around him feels so right, I couldn’t help but feel comfortable around him.

Also I blame my wolf

‘Hey!’ ignore that.

“Yeah” Violet answered slowly before scooting away from him a little. Being near him was making her feel some ways she hasn’t since…..

Nathan frown as she moved away a little from him and b=moved closer smirking as he saw irritation show on her face.

It became a game to him every time she moved away he moved closer, he couldn’t help grin as he saw her irritation grow. He loves riling her up and given she isn’t riled up so easily it’s a bonus to him.

‘She looks hot when she’s angry’ His demon purred darkly. Nathan froze not expecting that kind of reaction from his demon, it’s been centuries.

Violet sighed in relief and irritation when he finally stopped moving towards her. Honestly why am I not trying to kill him again?

Her gaze went to the bottle of vodka near by before he finally came to a conclusion. Definitely the alcohol.

‘Sure’ her wolf muttered sarcastically while Violet frowned.

‘Didn’t I block you out?’

‘You did till you lost focus’ her chucked while Violet muttered profanities. She cursed herself the alcohol and Nathan.

‘As long as you don’t put a real curse on him’ her wolf chuckled but she could sense the underlying seriousness under her words. Her wolf serious?!  Someone almost shot my head off and she was laughing about it! Honestly the love she has for me, then again Nathan must have stolen whatever was left of it.

Wait, seriously why am I not trying to kill him? that thought barely really crossed my mind. Honestly I didn’t want to kill him-

‘Because he’s too hot’ her wolf cut her off making him scowl.

‘No even though he is the king of demons who have been getting out of hand lately.” I rolled my eyes I finished my sentence.

I went to scoot back once again as he came closer but my hand only met air.

‘Uh oh’ my wolf muttered.

Yeah uh oh this stone is only so ever wide and so high.

Violet gasped as she approached the ground not noticing the tug on her hand before black smoke engulfed her and she found herself back in the clearing below.

Violet blinked trying to process what just happened as Nathan sighed in relief that he caught her in time. A drop like that would have been minimal but he couldn’t stand any damage done to her, minimal or not.

“You all right” A voice whispered and Violet gasped as she finally felt the tingles running throughout her body as someone held her.

I looked up only to be sucked into a black hole, a dark dark mesmerizing black hole.

‘Yeah’ my wolf sighed dreamily.

Nathan leaned in to kiss her and cursed as he felt him near.

Sighing he reluctantly pulled away hearing her whimper. His eyes widened as he realized what he was going to do.

He was going to kiss her, a real kiss, as tempting as it was it was too soon. He was about to ruin everything and in a way he was kind of glad that mutt interfered.

Giving Violet a lingering kiss on her forehead he disappeared in a puff of black smoke just a Trent burst into the clearing.

Violet’s eyes snapped open as the warmth disappeared to be met with a big dark brown wolf.

Trent took the opportunity to gain back control as his wolf soften as he saw Violet standing in the clearing alright.

Why is she here in the first place, alone too? She could have been in danger.

Trent quickly shifted back and got some shorts before running towards Violet who was still stuck in a gaze from the kiss, the spot on her forehead still tingling.

“Violet” breathed a sigh of relief pulling her close to him inhaling her sweet scent to calm his wolf. “Why are you out here alone in the middle of the night you could have been in danger.” He said sternly before pulling away staring down at her and her dazed state.

He stared at her in confusion before calling out to her ignoring the pleasurable sparks that even Violet barely noticed, barely effected by them as she replayed the kiss.

The one he gave to her when they first came across each other and now this one. Both on her forehead and she can’t help but feel frustrated that he hadn’t gave her a real kiss.

She also can’t help but feel disturbed with her thoughts and the effect Nathan had on her, whether she admits it or not. And she only encountered him twice, not counting the encounter during her childhood, she was a clueless girl then being introduced to the reality of living in the real world.

Trent gave up calling out to her and simply held her in his arms savoring the one in a life time chance that he could hold his mate in his arms with no resistance.

Nathan watched fighting the urge to break the mirror he enchanted as he watched the repulsive mutt all over violet.

“That stupid mutt couldn’t have found us especially since I enchanted the area we were around” he growled out in frustration as his demon was being riled up by this incompetent fool.

With the enchantments he put around the area he wouldn’t have been able to pick up Violet or his scent and he wouldn’t find any evidence of her being there.

“How the heck did he find us” Nathan growled and since he couldn’t punch the mirror he punched the next best thing.

One of his demons that was behind him. It hissed in pain as it crashed through the wall while Nathan paid no mind. He’ll heal.

One of the demons came up to him ignoring the other demon’s hiss of pain as she approached her king.

“He may have had some help my lord” She spoke with respect coming right next to him looking through the mirror frowning a little when he barely glanced at her direction.

Nathan frowned at her conclusion before waving his hand across the mirror making it view throughout the clearing.

Nathan abruptly stopped as he saw two bright blue glowing eyes that snapped up towards his view’s direction before disappearing in a flash of light.

Violet snapped out of it her head snapping towards the edge of the forest where she thought she saw something as Trent pulled away looking at her line of view.

“Everything alright?” He asked hoping she didn’t snap at him.

Must have been the moon. “Yeah, let’s get back” Violet spoke softly starting towards the pack house.

Nathan chuckled staring at the spot where the figure disappeared.

So that’s how it is huh?

“Looks like the council has taken action my lord” The female demon spoke making Nathan look towards her.

“Indeed” He confirmed making the demons around him hiss in hate and anger.

Nathan raised his hand making them all stop all together.

They may have kept him at bay for all these centuries but they won’t last for long because this time he will win and get what he wants.

And he will get his revenge.
