Chapter 33

Alayna

Every witch is connected. Were able to sense when one another are nearby.

Depending on who it is at least, if a similar witch companion is nearby you would feel a safe feeling if it’s the latter you’ll feel not so safe.

For instance if a light witch senses a light witch nearby they would feel the sparks, not the kind a mate makes you feel. However if a light witch sensed a dark witch nearby then the feeling won’t be so pleasant.

Yeah there’s been centuries of conflict between those two. Not even Violet who was supposed to save everyone along with me could cut it with them.

I remember visiting one of the light witch covens that taught me along with Violet. Things didn’t go so well.

Most were hostile, some thankfully kept it to themselves though that’s not what made Violet come to hate light witches.

One went as far to serve her or poison her with holy water. Something about purifying her and that a filthy dark witch couldn’t save them all, it’s just not right. Her words not mine.

Ever since then Violet has hated light witches with the exception of Merideth and I. She said that they reminded her of the Tritan pack that we all know she loathes.

“They judge others that are not like them and treat them like dirt, like their lower then themselves just because they’re not a clones like them.” Those were her exact words before she disappeared for a couple of months and came back almost mastering dark magic. She came across a dark coven that taught her which is the reason I took her to the light coven hoping they would.

She came across a dark coven that taught her which is the reason I took her to the light coven hoping they would.

When I look back at it was an incredibly stupid thought.

‘Get your head out of the gutter she’s about to rip him apart’ my wolf warned me. What would I do without her?

I looked back to see Violet stalking towards Stephen who had a fearful look on his face his smirk gone.

Yikes she is about to rip him apart. I used my speed to come between them holding back Violet.

“Calm down sis why don’t we hear him out first.” I tried to reason with her. She growled and tried to get pass me but I just tightened my grip.

Thought she can be unreasonable sometimes. I concentrated gathering the little light in the gym before setting it in my palm against Violet.

“Ow! The fuck” She jumped away from me rubbing the burns on her arms that were now healing slower than usual injuries but that’s normal. I ignored her curse considering she curses like a sailor when she’s hurt, which thankfully is barely.

“Good I have your attention” I stated while she scowled.

“Now” I turned towards Stephen who was still on the floor.

“Who are you? Which Coven are you from? And what are you doing here?” I asked him sternly my gaze softening when I saw sadness cloud his eyes.

“My name is Stephen Bonivair and …” He hesitated. “I don’t have a coven”

“What do you mean you don’t have a coven?” Violet growled out while I shushed her.

“What do you mean?” I asked him gently while Violet just scoffed.

“I don’t really have a coven, I’m pretty new to this witch thing considering I never met my parents” he chuckled humorously while I gasped in shock.

It’s unheard of for a witches to abandon their child and by unheard of I mean impossible. It’s against the law, they wouldn’t risk exposing their kind if they were taken in by humans or other creatures who would use them. Besides a witch family has a tight connection almost like the connection in a pack or coven but stronger. Dark witches thought not so much.

Besides stronger together.

“Now that is total bullshit” Violet sneered probably having the same thought as me.

“Why the hell would you think that” Stephen narrowed his eyes at her making Violet growl. He quickly dropped his gaze but glared at the floor.

“Do you seriously want me to believe that a witch left their child behind much less one of those incompetent light witches?” She chuckled without humor.

“That’s just plain impossible, not even a dark witch would do that to a light witch themselves” Violet scoffed. She’s right thought, even the dark witches were cautious about this law, not that they follow most but they didn’t want to repeat the witch trials. Sad as it is a dark witch would take in a light witch and vice versa anything to protect their kind, the dark witches their butts. Besides they kind of use the witches they take in as sacrifice……

Apparently you can get something or do something really nice with such a pure soul…. Violet’s words I blame the dark coven she came across.

“Why the heck would I lie about something like that” an irritated Stephen yelled making Violet narrow her eyes her eyes turning red. Violet and her wolf never did like disrespect, especially from someone or a specie she hates.

“Don’t yell if you want to lose that tongue goldilocks.” Violet growled out and went toward him before I intercept.

“What she means is that it’ll be hard to believe considering the law that’s within the witch community.” I explained softly while her just scoffed.

“Guess they didn’t get the memo” I rolled my eyes but stopped at a thought.

“Maybe they were killed and never had a chance to tell you about you’re origins” Some witches do that, they let their children live a normal life and are careful not to reveal it until they are near of age to receive their powers.

“Maybe” I heard Stephen mutter before Violet spoke.

“Why are you here anyway, wouldn’t a coven or some other witch have gotten to you already. Why here?” She asked narrowing her eyes suspiciously. Geez she needs more sympathy.

“I don’t know never came across one” Stephen shrugged.” I had to learn how to control my powers myself still do. I also heard rumors among supernatural who I found out about demons and packs and covens are coming together.” I explained before having a thoughtful look on his face. “I’m surprised I never came across a Vampire or a vampire coven.”

He turned towards us “They do exist right?” I saw Violet stiffen a little before relaxing.

“Yea their just really rare to come across their population is kind of dwindling so they went their separate ways and into hiding” She shrugged before giving him a pointed look.

“You still didn’t tell me why you came here, you would have sensed us wolf’s much less three packs”

“Uh yeah I was going to another town since there were word of demon sightings” He gave us a pointed look. “You guys still need to tell me about them they don’t sound like good news” I just nodded while I waved at him to go on.

“Anyway on the way there I sensed a presence a power it was kind of drawing me to it and I ended up here” He shrugged while Violet groaned.

I rolled my eyes, she always hated it when it happened, it’s not my fault I’m like a light witch magnet. They sense my power and connection to them, they feel safe and are attracted to me. I’ve found white a few sole witches like that other witches took them in and taught them their ways. I also attack those with pure kind souls.

Violet is the same thought the opposite. She is literally a trouble magnet. It explains how she easily finds people to kill that deserve it, but then again no one deserves what Violet does to them.

‘You’re getting off-track sweetheart’ my wolf chuckled. Oh right.

“Well you can stay with us, it’s too dangerous for you to be out on your own and the other coven will be staying low for a while with all the demons roaming around” I smiled softly at him seeing him smile a little. The demons have been getting rowdy, we barely see one in one year but now we see twenty to ten each day.

“What is with the demons anyway sure I get it their demons but well not everything is like stories say….” He trailed off. Smart boy too bad the stories about demons aren’t too far off.

“Well demons are a light witch’s natural enemy, even the Dark witches hate them, and they’ve been double crossed by one another too many times to count” I rolled my eyes at the last part. If you ask me there so much alike.

“Dark witches?” Violet groaned while I turned towards him.

“We have a lot to tell you”

“Correction you have a lot to tell him, I’m leaving I can’t stand his presence much longer” Violet sneered before walking out.

“I can tell were going to be best friends” Stephen stated sarcastically while I chuckled.

Violet

I sighed sinking even more into the warm water.

That guy Stephen is it. It was hard enough getting use of two strong witches’ presence but his isn’t making it better.

I also have my suspicions about him but of course Alayna demies them. She really shouldn’t just trust others just like that, it sets her up for disaster, but then again that’s probably why I’m there for.

To keep my sister away from all the personal demons and experiences I’ve faced. I’ve made sure to keep her away from all that, my sister is too pure to go through what I’ve been through and she won’t be tainted on my watch.

I’ll be willing to take all of the pain for her, for both of us. I have nothing to live for like she does anyway.

An image of him flashed through my mind disappearing as fast as it came.

I chuckled before looking towards the bottle of vodka.

I’ve been stressed lately, it’s about time I have some time to myself and let it go.

-------------

So here I am with a bottle of vodka in the same clearing I met him the last time.

It looks beautiful even without the Scarlett roses. I was on the same stone he stood on before he came up to me drinking from my second bottle of vodka wearing a thin nightgown letting the cool night air calm me.

I could barely get drunk thanks to my metabolism but hey I can still calm.

I sighed before taking another sip from the glass. What you didn’t think I would just drown one bottle after another I’m still a lady, I drink in style.

I hummed in content looking up at the stars.

It was a full moon tonight again.

I froze mid sip sensing him before he spoke. Who could resist that beautiful luring scent?

“My Scarlett Rose” I shivered hearing his voice before turning towards him.

“Naberious” I spoke shivering at his large form.

“Please call me Nathan” His sultry voice rang out a smirk forming on his face.
