What I liked about this book:

It was short. The writing wasn't dry.

What I did NOT like about this book:

The writing wasn't good either.

This book is obviously just the author's fantasy about a character in an anime that she'd like to make out with. Now, there's nothing wrong with that, but since it was handed to me, I'm going to judge it accordingly. I have never seen the anime, but I have read enough good fanfic to know what good fanfic looks like, and this isn't it.

Harumi is a blatant, obvious mary sue/author-insert. Her main defining characteristic is 'wants to make out with Akashi'. Lots of lines are devoted to describing her appearance, what she looks like, and how hot she thinks Akashi is. Almost all of the plot has to do with her either:

1. Thinking about how hot and awesome Akashi is

2. Something with Akashi doing something with the MC, skipping all the lead-up with the literal words 'timeskip'.

Akashi's behavior, for the record, is appalling. He's physically aggressive, treats the MC like shit, and the things he does make my skin crawl. He pins her to a wall. He hugs her and won't let go even after she says 'no'. He looks through her school records to find her address. He tells her she must obey him because he's the 'emporer'.

That's not romantic. It's fucking creepy. This book lost a ton of stars for that.

Overall:

Skin-crawling.
